The Koh Samui region
Koh Samui is the largest of the Siam gulf islands and resides on an archipelago of 80 smaller islands of which very few (6) are inhabited. With its beautiful coconut trees and hills covered with lush vegetation and the white chalky mountains it offers a wonder of natural beauty to explore and enjoy. It enjoys a tropical climate with its main season running from Dec to April. You will find the standard of living very attractive and there are many shops offering summer clothing and accessories.

Within 5-10 minutes walk from the Villa you have over half a dozen restaurants serving Thai and western food, 3 mini-marts for your daily needs, several laundry shops, 2 massage shops to help ease that aching body. Also a couple of small bars to quench that thirst with an ice cold beer or two, for entertainment you have the tiger zoo, aquarium and butterfly garden. Slightly further a field watch the locals with the monkeys that collect the coconuts from the trees you will be amazed.
The nearest beach from the Villa is approx 700 mtrs, not the best beach on Samui but its ok, complete with a rustic Thai style beach bar that serves ice cold beer and food, the beach is good for children as it is quite shallow for a hundred meters or so. Also close by is Centara Villas Resort and Samui Orchid which opens its doors to non residents and have many facilities to enjoy, including numerous restaurants and bars go on spoil yourself.
5 minutes away by motorbike or car you have the fishing village of Baan Hua Thanon where fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are sold daily at the local market, also the home of Baan Hua Thanon seafood restaurant a well recommended eatery with a fantastic menu, a bit slow but well worth the wait.
The seaside town of Lamai the second largest on the island and far superior in every way to the polluted Chaweng is just 10 minutes away by motorbike or car where you can party until dawn, fine dine in one of the many beach side restaurants, shop until you drop or just relax in one of the many watering holes Lamai has to offer and watch the world go by.
Just remember nowhere on the island is more than 35 minutes away, private car hire with a driver, taxis, motor bike taxis and the local public transport which run around the ring road called song taews or simply hire a motorbike or car.
Lamai is a busy little beach side tourist town. There are many shops lining the streets offering locally made souvenirs and clothes. When the sun goes down the streets come alive with lights and music from the night market and variety of bars while the restaurants serve excellent Thai and western dishes in the town and on the beach. Thai boxing is also popular and Lamai has its own professional and amateur boxing ring. There is also the Namsuang Waterfalls and the crocodile farm and elephant trekking which can be found a short distance away and many temples a snake farm. Aquarium is a short drive away
How to get there
A car is recommended, although small motorcycle can be rented cheaply, daily or weekly. We can arrange for a reputable car hire for you. Airport is 30 mins drive. Ferry port is 20 min drive.
