Villa Serendipity - The Perfect Zen Getaway
Perched on the hill, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, Villa Serendipity provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy luxury living during your vacation.

An architectural delight and featured recently in Thailand’s equivalent of Home and Garden magazine, this 4 bedroom, 4 baths villa provides luxurious, yet easy living for up to 6 guests, and is complete with its own swimming pool, a yoga sala, its own private herbs garden, indoor and outdoor kitchens.

Reached via a private road, Villa Serendipity welcomed you with a clear entrance pond which opens into a magnificent cathedral height space that encompasses a large foyer, the living and the dining rooms. Perfect for indoor and outdoor living, this easy flowing space has doors that can be opened and folded, providing fresh gentle breezes even on the hottest days. Tucked next to the dining room is the well equipped indoor kitchen and a breakfast counter where one can catch up on international TV news while away from home.

The living pavilion is separated from the common pavilion by a beautifully appointed lawn and garden, with an infinity edge kidney shape pool where one can catch the perfect sunset. Reached by a flight of short stairs, the Master Suite includes a study, a master bathroom with indoor, outdoor showers, and a tub with views to die for, as well as a tastefully decorated master bedroom. The master bathroom opens to a secret garden where one can meditate, or admire the views in the midst of the sound of a waterfall and the smell of seasonal flowers. From this secret garden, one can meander through the boulders to a sweet yoga sala. Below the Master Suite are two bedroom suites, both with interesting shower gardens. All of the rooms have unobstructed views of the Gulf of Thailand.

A walk down the curved steps from the main pavilions is a big entertainment room with a 55” flat screen TV and sound systems. Next to the entertainment room is the fourth bedroom suite.

As the sun goes down, Villa Serendipity turns into a magical place with its lights. There is wi-fi throughout the villa. Both the living room and the master bedroom have the latest technology B&O televisions. The Villa is maintained by Khun Big and Khun John, who serve breakfast. Khun Big is also ready to delight with her Thai home cooking on request.

The Koh Samui region

Koh Samui is the largest of the Siam gulf islands and resides on an archipelago of 80 smaller islands of which very few (6) are inhabited. With its beautiful coconut trees and hills covered with lush vegetation and the white chalky mountains it offers a wonder of natural beauty to explore and enjoy.

It enjoys a tropical climate with its main season running from Dec to April. You will find the standard of living very attractive and there are many shops offering summer clothing and accessories.

The Laem Sett area

Within 5-10 minutes drive of the Villa you have over half a dozen restaurants serving Thai and western food, 3 mini-marts plus Tesco express for your daily needs, several laundry shops.
A couple of small garden bars, and a beach bar at Laem Set.

For entertainment you have the tiger zoo, aquarium and butterfly garden. Slightly further a field you have the waterfalls.

The nearest beach from the Villa is Laem Set which is approx 1km , not the best beach on Samui but its ok, complete with a rustic Thai style beach bar that serves ice cold beer and food, the beach is good for children as it is quite shallow for a hundred meters or so. Also close by is Centara Villas Resort and Samui Orchid which opens its doors to non residents and have many facilities to enjoy, including numerous restaurants and bars go on spoil yourself.

5 minutes away by motorbike or car you have the fishing village of Baan Hua Thanon where fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are sold daily at the local market, also the home of Baan Hua Thanon seafood restaurant a well recommended eatery with a fantastic menu, a bit slow but well worth the wait.

Lamai is a beach side tourist town 5 to10 mins drive from the Villa. There are many shops lining the streets offering locally made souvenirs and clothes. When the sun goes down the streets come alive with lights and music from the night market and variety of bars while the restaurants serve excellent Thai and western dishes in the town and on the beach.

Thai boxing is also popular and Lamai has its own professional and amateur boxing ring.

There is also the Namuang Waterfalls, Crocodile farm and Elephant trekking which can be found a short distance away plus many temples and a snake farm.

The Aquarium ,Tiger Zoo and Butterfly Garden is within 5 mins drive of the villa

Royal Samui Golf & Country Club. 18 hole course under construction but first 9 holes now open on mountain overlooking Lamai, 15 minutes from the villa.

Just remember nowhere on the island is more than 35 minutes away, private car hire with a driver, taxis, motor bike taxis and the local public transport which run around the ring road called song taews or simply hire a motorbike or car.

“Extraordinary” One of the most wonderful houses I have stayed at or visited. It is a house with a soul, a house that is aesthetically, practically and environmentally serene, relaxing, quiet and comfortable, without clutter or vacation rental house shortcuts. This was built by a delighful woman with the help of a brilliant team of architect, landscpae architect, builder and project manager and if everybody is in sync and you have a site with beautiful ocean views, you acheive something extraordinary. It is not one of those ubiquitous OTT places that reminds you of a well decorated but impersonal upscale resort. The house is staffed by an extremely pleasant local couple who cook honest food -- just right. It is a place to go if you want to get away from everything stressful in life and avoid bad attitude, noise, fellow guests, bad room locations and piped in music you get at many upscale resorts. Not for little kids or for those looking for a party place. The sort of place that Tyler Brule who writes the Fast Lane column of the FT would approve !

“Beautiful seaview villa!!” We stayed at the Villa in May. It is a very open and beautiful villa. The housekeeper are very nice and Ms. Big cooked really good Thai food. Its about 10 to 15 minutes drive to a nicer beach. The villa is clean and nicely decorated. It is good for family and friends. I would definitely go back again. The only down side is the rental cars are really old and dirty. Overall is a beautiful villa with ocean view everywhere in the villa. Pick up from the airport is another plus to stay at this villa.

“Beautiful retreat” It is a beautiful location with a very stylish and comfortable villa. The staff were charming, helpful and cooked superb thai food. There is plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. It has all been very well designed even the plants! Only thing to point out that we would strongly recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up the drive. I have no reservations about highly recommending it as the perfect place to relax and enjoy.
