Villa Emerald is a tropical-style open plan one bedroom luxury Villa located on hillside land with amazing panoramic ocean views of the Gulf of Thailand and surrounding islands. The Villa is located in an idyllic location suited for couples.
This newly constructed high quality property is one of three villas, set on a magnificent parcel of land, covered in granite boulders and swaying coconut trees. The villa is situated on the 22 acre area of ocean view hillside land known as Sitara Retreat, which provides 24 hour security. The villa boasts a private salt water pool and Jacuzzi, open plan tropical style living area, fitted kitchen and mini gym.
Sitara is an exclusive private residency, surrounded by nature, with amazing rock formation and outstanding natural beauty. The villa is in the unspoiled south of the island which largely remains unaffected by over-development that unfortunately blights the north.
From the private car parking area, the path that takes you to the villa meanders around two impressive ancient granite boulders and invites you into this spacious tropical-style one bedroom villa. The large open style living room, with its beautiful tropical hardwood floor, provides magnificent views of the shimmering emerald ocean, together with far reaching views of the beautiful surrounding islands.
Within the living room there is three comfortable sofas, coffee table, circular dining table and chairs, together with its large flat screen with the top package on satellite tv, including showing football from the champions league and DVD player. Attached to this area there is a cozy trellis-style open air retreat with two oriental style mattresses, inviting you for an afternoon siesta!
Walking from the living area across a small bridge, which spans the lotus pond with its colourful tropical fish and turtles, this takes you to a small open plan ocean-view mini gym. From the living room level is located the private salt water swimming pool, decking, with a separate Jacuzzi, where you can relax during the evening and enjoy cocktails under the stars.
A gas barbecue is also provided where you can cook freshly caught fish or meat from the local market and enjoy a romantic meal with the backdrop of the twinkling lights of the fishing boats out at sea.
The spacious open-plan fitted kitchen with its large table and chairs is where you can enjoy fine dining set amidst the striking granite boulders and lush garden area with ocean views.
Also provided is a small utility area with washing machine and guest WC.
Above the living area is situated the Bedroom with a beautiful tropical hardwood high vaulted ceiling, complete with en-suite bath tub, shower, double vanity unit and WC. This has been created with the classic look of Terrazzo. The bedroom has a king sized bed, fitted wardrobes, dressing table, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and leads out to its balcony with fabulous far-reaching views of the lush green tropical setting and emerald ocean.
All our villas have spectacular ocean views that are outstanding, with the Bedroom at Villa Emerald providing the most sumptuous views of all.
Smoking is allowed outside the villa.
The villa is installed with wifi and we will provide you with the use of a mobile telephone for free local calls.

The Surat Thani Province region
Rising from the crystal waters of the Gulf of Siam, Koh Samui is a tropical paradise just off Thailand's South Eastern coast. The island's mountainous interior is coated in a tropical jungle with rugged trails that offer spectacular views. The whole island is surrounded by beautiful white sandy beaches and azure water.
Samui is Thailand's third largest island at 247 square kilometers. And it's part of an archipelago of many other islands, including Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, and the Ang thong National Marine Park. Samui is renowned for its tropical beaches, coconut palms, a wonderful variety of spa facilities, exotic nightlife and friendly people. The island also has an amazing choice of restaurants, offering local and international cuisine that would be hard to match anywhere in the world. Samui seems to cast its magic spell on everyone who encounters it.
The island's 50 km ring road offers tantalizing glimpses of Samui's gorgeous beaches, it takes you through sleepy fishing villages and seas of coconut palms. It also passes Samui's most impressive waterfalls and provides tempting turn-offs in the highlands. Yet most visitors are content to laze the days away on the beaches, soaking up the sun and cooling off in the turquoise waters.
Samui may have a relaxed, laid back atmosphere, but the jungles and beaches offer every activity imaginable. The island has an exhilerating array of water sports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, sea canoeing, kite boarding and fishing. There's also mountain biking, horse-riding, elephant trekking through the jungle, tennis and even bungee jumping available for those seeking energetic entertainment. And an excellent golf course is available for a more gentle form of exercise.
Sunny skies and calm seas prevail for most of the year. The southern part of the island, where Villa Emerald is located, remains largely unspoiled, compared to the north of the island. The villa offers a tranquil setting for nature lovers to feel at home, situated amidst a tropical paradise with amazing granite boulders.
Villa Emerald is located at Sitara Retreat which is situated close to the southern tip of the island. Nearby to the villa many of the island's main attractions are only a short drive away, which include Lamai beach, Butterfly Garden, Waterfalls, Aquarium, Elephant trekking, Grandmother, Grandfather Rocks, water sports, horse riding, Thai cookery classes, amongst others. There are many fine and varied restaurants serving Thai and Western dishes, all within 5-10 minutes drive from the villa.
The southern part of the island still has that rustic charm appeal that the whole of Samui boasted years ago. The beaches on the south remain undeveloped, due mainly to the shallow coastline. If you like to explore you can still find areas where you have the beach to yourself, and never too far away you will find a Thai restaurant where you can enjoy true authentic local dishes.
Villa Emerald is a 2-3 min drive, or 15 min walking distance (which is steep in a couple of places) of Laem Sett beach. This is a quiet and secluded beach and here one can admire a beautiful sunset, and see the local fishermen, with their long tailed boats, come into shore. Also located on the beach is the rustic Thai style Cool Bar when you can enjoy good food and a drink whilst soaking up the tranquil atmosphere. Within this charming area of Laem Sett there are several fine restaurants, serving both delicious Thai and European food and a few small, quiet bars.
Also close by is ShaSa Resort, Centara Villas and Samui Orchid which opens its doors to non residents and has many facilities to enjoy, including smart restaurants and bars.
Between 5-10 minutes away by motorbike or car, you have the fishing village of Baan Hua Thanon where fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are sold daily at the local market, together with local small shops, a 24-hour Seven Eleven store, a doctors surgery and Chinese Temple, amongst other things.
It is a condition of Sitara Retreat that a 4 x 4 vehicle (or moped) is required to drive on the estate. We can assist in the hire of these vehicles at a competitive price. Click the link to our website for details. The roads are also quiet around this area, unlike the busy north of the island.
If your intentions are not to hire a vehicle or moped, taxis can pick you up at the entrance of Sitara, which is a 4 or 5 minute walk down the hill.

"Fabulous villa with stunning views"
The wake up view from the top bedroom of this glorious two bedroom villa is just awesome, and the adjoining balcony provides the perfect space for watching the sun go down whilst sipping an iced gin and tonic after a hard day by the pool. The lower bedroom has a similar view although due to the height difference is not quite so extensive as the one above. Nevertheless this bedroom is quite unique having a feature ensuite bathroom built into the rocks and two outside doors one of which provides easy access to the pool for those early morning or late night naughty dips. The spacious open kitchen area includes a large oak table capable of seating at least 10, a perfect dining space for entertaining with a view to match. Should you not wish to slave over a hot stove, meals can easily be obtained from the many local restaurants who will happily provide a take away service from their menu, alternatively it is even possible to organise for traditional Thai meals to be cooked in the villa. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, liquidizer, toaster etc and an annexed utility area contains a washing machine and ironing facilities. The sitting area is spacious and is completely open on three sides giving the area a relaxed airy feel and providing ocean views across to the Islands of Koh Karen and Koh Mat Sum with the Thai mainland in the distance. Adjoining the sitting area is the pool and sun deck both of which enjoy the same stunning views, a large jacuzzi can also be found in this area where the odd glass of wine can be enjoyed under the stars with your nearest and dearest. From the sitting area a few steps cross a fish pool where a mini gym can be found, although all the best keep fit intensions will seem to go to pot during any stay in this fabulous villa. The fish pool is a lovely feature and food is provided for guests to feed the eagerly awaiting inhabitants. Next to the fish pool is a yoga sala situated in a tranquil spot with the same amazing views over the Islands to the mainland. Due to the commanding views enjoyed from this villa there is obviously a bit of a slope to negotiate to reach the property. Having said that only the last 100 metres are the hardest and given the views available, no pain no gain as they say. At 60 I did not find the slope an issue so it really should not be a problem for any one of younger years. However the villa owner does offer a vehicle rental service which provides an easy hassle free solution at competitive rates. Whilst there are several good restaurants and hotels within walking distance (some of which will even pick up and drop off at Sitara) a vehicle is a definite must should you wish to travel further afield and explore the island. The villa owner (Dave) and his staff provide an excellent and faultless service which includes free airport pickup and drop off. A complementary mobile is also provided pre-programmed with the owners number and who is always available to answer any questions or address any problems should they arise, indeed nothing ever seems too much trouble, a perfect service. Value for money this villa is a must - I can guarantee it will not disappoint.
