The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Justly famous for its wonderful climate, the Malaga region is so much more than just a beach destination. Choose La Cala as a base from which to explore this fascinating area and you take advantage of the town's second to none road, rail and airport connections.
Often called Costa del Golf, there are more than 60 golf courses stretching from Sotogrande in the west to Velez Malaga in the east. La Cala's central location on the coast makes it the ideal base from which to play them from. But why waste time travelling so far when the town's own renowned course, Cala Nova Golf Course, has such stunning mountain and sea views?
Often overlooked, Malaga's elegant city centre is just 20km away. With its handsome parks and squares, world class museums, stunning architecture and excellent shopping, it makes for a great day out. And no trip to Andalucia is complete without an excursion to the unforgettable Alhambra Palace UNESCO World Heritage Site in Granada.
Seville too is steeped with history and so lively and beautiful that it inspired music and culture from flamenco to opera. Other notable places to visit include the spectacular and historic Ronda or Europe's windsurfing capital, Tarifa on Spain's mostly unspoiled Costa de la Luz coast.
A visit to one of Andalucia's charming white washed villages such as Benalmadena Pueblo or nearby Mijas is a must. And the varied and wonderful landscapes of this region, including the magnificent gorge and lakes of El Chorro and unusual rock formations at El Torcal, are easily accessible from Benalmadena too.
Gibraltar is a curious mix of cultures set in the most spectacular location, where you could be forgiven for thinking you are in a British high street until you explore the awe inspiring Rock, drink in its views of Africa and feed the wild monkeys at the top!
For the more adventurous, reasonably priced weekend or day trips to exotic Morocco can be booked in La Cala and in winter, it is possible to ski at the nearby Sierra Nevada ski resort in the morning and take a romantic stroll by the beach in the evening. All of this is possible if you choose La Cala as a base for your holiday.

The Water Park, Spain's only Horse Racing course, Go Karting, Adventure parks, Dolphin Centre and Zoo are all within easy reaching distance.
Places to visit that are nearby are: Fuengirola, Cabopino, Marbella, Puerto Banus & Benalmadena which we really think is a must to visit. All have their own very special character and cater for all tastes including shopping through to culinery delights to make your stay even more enjoyable.
In addition there is also Gibraltar for tax free shopping which is only a short trip away and Mijas Village about 15 minutes in a car which is a glorious little spanish village great for panoramic views of the countryside & is known to all as the white villages of Mijas.
Mijas Costa is ideal for golfers with at least 20 courses all within easy reaching distance with Valderama being a world famous course.
