Villa Miriana is located in the former fishing village of Rabac, known today as "the Pearl of the Kvarner bay". Rabac is 25 miles distant from Pula, with direct Ryanair flights from London Stansted.

Rabac offers wonderful beaches, restaurants with local Istrian cuisine and various sporting activities.

The Istria region

Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula is located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Bay of Kvarner.

Istria is indeed a feast for the eyes. Its streams flow to the sea through deep valleys and gullies which bring to mind the ancient local myths about giants. Rolling hills overlook the fields and valleys with little towns perched on the peaks, recalling some old paintings.

The view is splendid: white-topped mountains, lush wheat fields, plateaux, valleys, vineyards and olive groves on hillsides, and, finally the sea.

As you get to know Istria you will notice more and more enchanting details: church facades and portals, tiny village alleyways with their specific architectural touches, the babble of a stream, the blossoming cherries. Everything is warm–hearted and friendly here: nature, towns and people.

Labin / Rabac area

Rabac is the major tourist resort on the eastern coast of the Istrian Peninsula, some 40 kilometres away from Pula and only five kilometres from Labin. Situated in Kvarner Bay, at the foot of towering slopes protecting the town and also ensuring a mild Mediterranean climate, Rabac with a tourist capacity of nearly 10,000 beds can justly claim the title of ‘the pearl of Kvarner’.

Wonderful surrounding, lovely pebbly beach, pleasant climate and view of Kvarner Bay all attracted holiday-makers and travel writers as early as the mid-19th century when Rabac was just a small fishing village.
Apart from its rich catering, sports and entertainment offer, Rabac offers numerous excursion possibilities especially to the Istrian interior with numerous agritouristic complexes.

And just above Rabac, nestling on the top of the hill at a height of 320 m above sea level lies the old mining town of Labin. Today, when the mines have been closed down, this town, where all historical sights become true historical gems, presents itself in a new guise. An increasing number of galleries, bars, studios, modern and famous multicultural centre as the crossroads of the young generation, have all found their ideal location right here in Labin, which all adds to the tourist offer of Rabac.

In the vicinity of Rabac are medieval towns such as Pićan, Gračišće, Paz and Boljun that are also interesting sites to visit. The slopes of Mt. Učka offer possibilities for hiking, and further south, at Skitača with a magnificent view of Kvarner, besides hiking and trekking there are possibilities for other sports like free climbing, riding and mountain biking.

How to get there

The nearest airport is Pula Airport (25 miles).

Ryanair flies to Pula from London Stansted, 3 times a week (Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Monarch flies from London Gatwick and from Manchester.
Thompson Fly flies from London Gatwick.

You can also fly to Trieste (1h 30 minutes journey from us) by Ryanair - from London Stansted or to Venice (4 h from us) with Easyjet from London Gatwick or most other major European airlines.

Sofa beds in the living room can can accommodate 2 more people, if needed so.

30% deposit is required within 3 days once the booking is made.

Resf of balance payment is due at the arrival. No security deposit is required.

Cancellation refunds - Up to 8 weeks before – your deposit will be given back to you with a charge of £25 for costs.
