The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
Situated on the south east coast of mainland Spain, the Costa Blanca is renowned for it's sandy white beaches and warm Mediterranean climate. Steeped in history and boasting beautiful mountain views, sweet fragrance orange groves and glistening waters, this picturesque Valencian province has something for everyone.
You certainly won't be short of things to explore on the Costa Blanca, whether you wish to delve into it's history and culture or reveal the untold mysteries of the deep blue Mediterranean.
Alicante is a coastal university city with an impressive harbour and a tree lined promenade. One of its main attractions is its ancient mountaintop castle (Castillo de Santa Barbara), although keen shoppers will revel in its quaint boutiques and grand department stores.
The ancient town of Alicante extends itself along the curve of its busy port. The Romans called it Lucentum - The City of Light - quite appropriately for the acknowledged tourist capital of the White Coast, which has supplied generations of visitors with their first enticing impression of Spain.
Alicante, like most of the towns on the Costa Blanca, hosts an array of restaurants and bars with prices that won't break the budget, so you certainly won't go hungry here!
La Zenia area
La Zenia is in the area of Orihuela Costa, is less than a 10 minutes drive south of Torrevieja and is on the a main bus and taxi route. It has a very multi-cultural feel as many people from other countries now live in this area and actually outnumber the Spaniards! This area is a favourite for British and Irish ex-pats. Consequently, the shops, bars and restaurants in this area originate from many nationalities to provide food to suit all tastes - from the native Spanish to Italian, French, German, Chinese, Indian, Korean, Scandinavian, Argentinean, Hungarian, Mexican cuisine, etc.
Bars and restaurants underneath the complex but on the other side. Just walk across the communal area by the pool and you are there!!
200 metres to Consum supermarket, bars, restaurants, banks, etc, at the La Zenia roundabout.
Few minutes walk or 250 metres to the EU Blue Flag sandy beach at La Zenia. There are jet-ski's, a banana boat and pedalo's in the summer months, as well as the usual "bars on the beach" plus other bars and restaurants on the coast road and La Zenia Hotel. Just around the headland is Playa Flamenca beach plus more shops, restaurants and the main Post Office.
250 metres to the first class facility called Orihuela Costa Resort. Built around a small hotel it welcomes visitors not staying at the hotel to use its excellent facilities. There is magnificent pool with large sunbathing terrace and loungers, extensive lawn area, tennis courts, basket ball area and gymnasium. The pool bar serves drinks, snacks and light meals. The superb air-conditioned restaurant caters for many more people than this small hotel accommodates, and is popular with locals and visitors in self-catering. This is an all day facility and if you fancy breakfast out some mornings they bake delicious croissants on the premises. There is a small charge to use the pool or gardens, and the hotel does not allow you to take your own food and drink.
1/2 kilometre to Mercadona, Plus and Super Cor supermarkets plus more shops, banks, etc.
1 kilometre to the Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre, the largest in the area with about 60 bars and restaurants, and nearby are familiar supermarkets such as Lidl, Aldi and Supercor - the "Harrods" food hall of Spain.
There is a popular market on every Saturday morning in a wide road in Playa Flamenca.
5 minutes drive to golf courses of Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas.
10 minutes drive, or 8 km to Torrevieja town centre, marina, harbour, Carrefour, Habernas shopping centre (H&M, C&A, Zara, etc), McDonalds, ten pin bowling, casino, etc.

Comments from Philip MacDonald after booking with us: "This whole booking process has been made so easy, by first of all, providing detailed and accurate information, and secondly, prompt and equally informative email response which drills down further into even more important detail. It has been a pleasure dealing with you and, as is normal with such high quality services, then this will lead to further bookings from myself and recommendations to others."
