Chalet La Couronne is a modern, well equipped home from home with plenty of space for everyone to relax. Completed in 2008 the chalet has been fitted out to a high standard and provides all you might need for an enjoyable holiday. Ski in /Ski out convenience plus 300m walk to the main lift, Tourist information, bakery and La Tzoumaz Kids Club child care - (open Mon-Sat 8-5). The expansive open plan living space is conveniently on one level. Four feather filled sofas, an armchair and 3 large bean bags provide ample seating around the glass enclosed central fireplace. The living space links to the dining area (-with a hand made oak table comfortably seating 12) and beyond to the modern kitchen. Around this wraps the expansive 40m² balcony and picture windows frame stunning views. Underfloor heating throughout keeps the chalet warm and cosy.
The chalet sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom with basin, toilet and either a bath or shower.

The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region
La Tzoumaz is a little known haven in the extensive 4 Vallees ski area. The resort, with its own 40km of pistes on snow-sure north facing slope, links directly into the Savoleyres area of Verbier. The 8 man telecabine takes you straight to the top of Savoleyres in 9 minutes and from there you can ski to the Medran lift in the centre of Verbier in just10 minutes. Verbier's charms and vast expanse of skiing both on and off piste are reknowned but the charms of the Savoleyres area are less well known. This is a quieter, family friendly mountain with something for everyone including a 10km toboggan run, 3 new shoeshoe routes, natural ice rink and Heli-skiing. In summer Verbier is 20minutes drive away via the summer road and the vineyards and fruit farms of Valais are laid out in the Rhone valley below. Thermal baths at Saillon are 20 minutes away and golf courses in easy reach.
La Tzoumaz / Mayen-de-Riddes area
Chalet La Couronne has a private ski- lift just 25m from the front door. From there a 1 minute ride takes you to the main La Tzoumaz piste.
The Chalet is 300 m from the main ski lift, where there are lift-tickets, ski-rent, bakery and bar facilities. Here too is the Tourist information Office, Ski-School office and La Tzoumaz Kids Club. The main village centre is a further 200m where there are choices for ski-rent, a newsagent, supermarket with butchery and bakery, pizzeria, bars hotels and a night club, plus a cash machine.
How to get there
La Tzoumaz is a 9 hour drive from Calais, an easy 90 minutes from Geneva airport (the chalet has secure underground parking). Easy Jet serves Geneva from Luton Gatwick and Manchester. A regular express train service connects Geneva to Martigny and Sion, also stoping at the local station, Riddes. We can arrange transport from the airport and stations on request.

Further details indoors: Bedroom 1 on the top floor is a spacious 32m² with a balcony and fabulous views. Twin beds can be arranged apart or pushed together to make up a superking size bed. Oak floors and matching oak furniture create a warm ambience and a pair of cane armchairs enable guests to relax in private. The large bathroom has a bath with shower over, double basins and wc.
Next door, bedroom 2 is almost as big and shares all the features of bedroom 1 except that the bathroom has a shower, single basin and wc. Bedroom 3, is located on the main floor and has a lovely vaulted ceiling. It has a double bed (160cm wide) and bathroom with a bath, basin and wc. Bedrooms 4 and 5 on the ground floor enjoy the wonderful view through double doors. Both have full size bunk beds (90 x 200) with individual lights and adequate headroom. The bathrooms are equipped with shower, basin and toilet. Duvets are feather and down, double layer for all year comfort and there are 2 pillows for each bed, one feather and down, one synthetic, to suit all preferences. The spacious sitting room offers stunning views across the valley through huge picture windows, opening onto the expansive balcony. The fire, enclosed by glass doors on 3 sides, provides a cosy focal point on chilly nights. Four feather filled sofas, an armchair and large beanbags provide ample comfortable seating.
Media entertainment includes a 37” LCD TV with freeview satellite connected to Astra 2D (BBC 1/2/3/4 etc) and a DVD player complete with a selection of films for all ages. A Wii with balance board, 2 controllers and 2 nunchucks, enable all to practice “Family Ski”, Wii fit and play Wii sport games. A Denon Sound system with CD player and MP3 connectivity is located in the sitting room and there is a separate i-pod docking station in the dining area.
Between the dining and sitting areas is a desk with flat screen PC equipped with MS Vista and MS Office and with a high-speed wireless broadband connection for the use of our guests.
The sitting room is linked to the vaulted dining room where the solid oak table can comfortably seat 12. Off to one side is the modern kitchen with granite work surfaces and appliances including; American style fridge/freezer, Induction hob with extractor, 3 Ovens: Traditional oven, Steam oven, microwave/Grill, Meile dishwasher, 1.5 bowl sink and Expresso machine. There are plenty of pans and bakeware plus cook books for ideas.
The boiler room is equipped with a washing machine and tumble drier as well as a large sink and folding drying rack together with an iron & ironing board.
Conveniently situated next to the door is the ski room with a rack for skis and snowboards, and stools to sit on to make getting those boots on a bit easier. Chalet La Couronne has the added luxury of a boot warmer/dryer with enough space for 10 pairs of ski or snowboard boots.
To make life easier for guests with a younger child we supply a travel cot, adjustable high chair and 2 stair gates. Please be aware that the stair gates are not permanently fixed and cot bedding is not supplied.
Further details outdoors: The balcony offers commanding views across the valley and is the ideal spot for al fresco dining in the summer. The private funicular lift links the secure underground parking at the foot of the development with the chalet. The lift station for the chalet - just 25 meters away - takes you to the ski piste in a matter of moments. There is also a parking space available outside the chalet and snow tyres/chains are advisable.

Bookings are usually taken from Sunday to Sunday. You will be able to collect the keys from 3pm on your arrival date and must vacate the property by 10am the following Sunday. Please contact us if you would like to arrive outside of these days/times as this may be possible.
The price shown for the week includes cleaning of the chalet on departure, bed linen, towels and tea towels.
The following are excluded:
- Electricity is charged locally at 0.2 EURO per Kw.
In addition to greeting you on arrival our local agent will arrange a mid-week visit to check that everything is to your satisfaction and enquire whether any in-resort help is required. Whilst the cleaning service on departure is mandatory, we do ask you to leave the chalet tidy and clean out the fire.
Our ground agents can supply a shopping basket for you on arrival or even 2 course meals (ask for more information). Firewood is supplied on request.
A security deposit of 500 Euros is payable on booking and the rental is due 8 Weeks prior to arrival.
Payment is by bank transfer.
The security deposit is required in case of damage to the chalet, or if excessive cleaning is necessary. The key holder will read the electricity meter and verify that all is OK at the end of your stay and we will subsequently return the remaining monies to you.
The maximum occupancy of the Chalet is 10 people. Please note we do accept pets by prior arrangement.
