The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region

La Tzoumaz is part of the huge Verbier ski area just 90 minutes from Geneva and 25 minutes from Sion airport. The chalet is positioned directly on the piste slope in a private situation with fabulous south-facing views over the resort. La Tzoumaz is located in the adjacent valley to Verbier, being just a 5 minute cable car ride away.

The resort is north facing and has one of the best snow records in the Alps enjoying a ski-season from early December all the way through to late-April and usually offering better snow conditions than Verbier itself. Moreover its weather is usually clear when Verbier tends to cloud within its bowl. The brand new 8 man gondola system is the biggest and fastest in the 4 Valleys domain with a capacity of 2200 people per hour which links it directly to Verbier and the rest of the 4 Valleys. It ensures short queues even at the busiest times.

La Tzoumaz area

The ski runs of La Tzoumaz, Verbier and the 4 Valleys at 1550-3300m are vast, high and varied and will take your breath away. As a resort for skiers, they are second to none. They are awesome in skiable terrain, with 410 total km. of prepared slopes, awesome in lift capacity with 96 different means of uphill transportation and awesome in downright challenge.

However, it is suitable for all levels of skiers. There is adequate space for beginners with the nursery slope located close to the chalet. Almost immediately, first time skiers can get the feel of some high altitude skiing in a safe and sound environment.

Intermediate skiers will find the skiing on the Savoleyres slopes, close to the chalet, a dream. The wide smooth blue and red pistes are where Verbier’s ski instructors come to spend their days off. At the end of a hard day’s skiing you will wind your way through pine forests right to the door of the chalet. For better skiers, Verbier really comes into its own. Highlighted by Mont Fort at over 3,000m, with a near vertical descent onto the glacier (allowing summer skiing here as well), Verbier offers challenge and variety in just about every nook and cranny. Bumps, powder, unpisted and untested, it's all within the borders of this vast ski domain. There are a huge number of really challenging runs ensuring it is known by expert skiers far and wide, as one of the most difficult skiing resorts anywhere. For the advanced skier who wants a challenge try the mogul runs and the descents of Tortin and Col de Mines.

This is high-mountain skiing at its best. If you are a top-flight skier, you should find all the action you want on La Tzoumaz and Verbier's prepared slopes. However, if you still wish for more, the entire 4 Valley system beckons, allowing you to ski over to the slopes of Nendaz, Veysonnaz and even Thyon in the adjacent valleys. What's more, you can come back on the same day, on skis.

If this isn’t enough and you are still after more action, the resort also possesses the longest floodlit sledge run in Western Switzerland (at 11 kilometres) which passes by the chalet’s back-door. The resort is popular with families, having a small ski lift for children, a natural ice rink, and a heated swimming pool.
