Le Palmier is just a 2 minute stroll to a lively village offering cafes/bars & restaurants and only an 8 minute drive to wonderful 'Blue Flag' sandy beaches - ideal for the kids. In the large sitting room you'll find a projector home cinema displayed on a huge motorised screen with the full sky packages including: movies, children’s & sports. Plus 24hr internet access, an iPod docking station & a Wii console with interactive family games to enjoy on the big screen!
We specifically cater for families with children - We have an extensive library of books, lots of children's board games and toys from dressing up clothes to train sets, building blocks, dolls house & a huge library of children’s videos & DVD's (over 100!)
For families travelling with young babies, we also supply within the price - a sterilizer, bottle warmer, food blender, a travel cot, (& 100% cotton bed linen) changing mat, baby bath, high chair, push chair & children's crockery & cutlery.

Puy du fou grand park Puy du Fou is where time stands still - take a journey through 2,000 years of history. Other sporting activities on the coast The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer (10 minutes away) has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. La Rochelle The famous city of La Rochelle is just 45 minutes away. Explore the chic shops or watch the world go by from one of the many trendy bars or bistros. Fishing You can enjoy two types of fishing - On the freshwater rives upstream from the lock gates at Moricq (5 mins away), you can try for pike, perch, carp, bream and other bleak. You will need a licence which can be purchased at our office du tourism. Or you can fish in the saltwater reaches of the Lay, from the gates of Moricq to the mouth of the river which is subject to maritime regulations, so you can fish free of charge, for grey mullet, eels and plaice.
Golf France is one of Europe's most popular golfing holiday destinations. La Tranche sur Mer / Angles area
Le Palmier is only a 2 minute stroll from the centre of Angles, which has a large street market on both Wednesday and Sunday mornings in the summer months - an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.
During July and August, Angles organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays and night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.
Located so close to the village, you can either take a leisurely walk down in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants, or stroll down in the evenings to a choice of great restaurants. You don’t have to load all the kids in the car (plus all of the equipment that comes with having a family) to have a great meal.
The village has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, five cafés/bars and four restaurants. There are also two supermarkets, two butchers, a fishmonger and a fruit & vegetable shop.
The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers can choose from a range of freshly-caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustine and gambas at the town's fish market which is open every weekday at 5am. Those who prefer a lie-in can sample the seafood later in the day at one of the many wonderful fish restaurants in the town.
Whether you're an experienced cyclist or a leisure rider, this area has plenty of surprises in store for you. all along the 'Loire a Velo' signposted bike trial, you can marvel at the stunning Loire countryside, visit châteaux’s & Abbeys, stroll through quaint little towns & cycle through vineyards for over 110 miles!

Further details indoors: Le Palmier has 4 bedrooms - 2 masters, 1 triple bedroom & 1 bunk room - The vast master bedroom (35m2) has a 4 poster wrought-iron king size bed with an en-suite Jacuzzi bathroom. The second master also has a 4 poster double bed with a door leading out to the gardens and pool area. All double beds have luxurious mattress toppers for maximum comfort. The large triple bedroom has three single beds in it and is able to convert to a good size double if required for more than 4 adults sharing. The bunk bedroom has an en suite shower room, with hand basin and WC. A family bathroom with a separate shower & 3rd WC is also in the property.
The very well equipped kitchen has double patio doors which open onto a south-west facing eating terrace. It has a 5 burner range cooker (always easier when cooking for larger numbers) a dishwasher & microwave, washing machine, 2 x fridge/freezers & ironing facilities. You will also find kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, dish clothes, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels & salt & pepper grinders at your disposal. A few less items to pack & always appreciated.
Please note Le Palmier will have a triple bedroom as from April 2009 however, 2008 it still remains as 2 masters, one twin, and one bunk room.
Further details outdoors: The 12 x 6 meter swimming pool is surrounded by 180m2 of decking with lots of sunloungers. The pool has a large terrace & an additional raised decked area, which is shaded by a large walnut tree. Here there are café-style tables & chairs, a great place for the kids to play out of the sun. The shade of the wrought iron gazebo on your terrace area gives a welcome break from the midday sun, it is also the perfect spot to relax & enjoy the views of the pool & the beautiful gardens, as lunch is served!

Prices are based on up to 4 adults and 5 children sharing the property. Two further adults can be added to the booking if the childrens places are not taken, however, there is a suppliment. Any additonal children are NOT charged for if they are under 17 years old. Please see our terms of business located on our web-site.
Prices are advertised in GBP, however, payments are taken in Euros on and exchange rate of 1.30%.
Credit Card payments are accepted, however a 2% surcharge applies with this method of payment. Alternatively payments can be made by international bank transfer.
Winter lets are welcome from Mid October through to Mid April each year at a price of 1500euros per month and are based on one family sharing. Bedding, electric, gas, water, personal taxes, sky packages or any fuel is not included within the price and is the responsibility of the tenant to pay.
Luxury 100% cotton bed linen is supplied within the price, as well as bath towels and bathroom hand towels. We also offer large 100% cotton beach towels for hire (saves that bit of extra room in the car on the way home for the great bottles of wine!)

We had a really fantastic week at Le Palmier - the accommodation was really spacious and comfortable and absolutely perfect for little ones and big ones. The property had everything you might need for a holiday ready and waiting. Loads of toys, computer games and books for the children and lots of hiding places - and a home cinema for us to enjoy when they were asleep.
Being able to simple walk to the village for our shopping and to get something to eat was just perfect, your gites are in the perfect location for a family with children and we couldn’t of asked for any more toys to entertain the kids - thanks so much
