Le Mimosa is a spacious detached villa (approx. 206m2 of living area) located just a 1 minute walk from a wonderful village offering bars/cafes, restaurants and weekly street markets. Due to the lay out, It is ideal for family or friends holidaying together as it offers plenty of privacy. It benefits from it's own 'above ground' PRIVATE heated pool, children's swing/slide set all within 1200m2 of secure mature gardens. In 2009 a HEATED toddler pool will also be available (please see photo below)

For families travelling with young babies, we also supply within the price - a sterilizer, bottle warmer, food blender, a travel cot, (& 100% cotton bed linen) changing mat, baby bath, high chair, push chair & children's crockery & cutlery.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
Le Mimosa is under a minutes walk from the lovely village of Angles which has a large street market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings (in peak season)- an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.
Located so close to the village of Angles, you can either take a leisurely stroll in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants with the kids or in the evenings visit a choice of 5 great restaurants. You will also find a comprehensive folder in the gîte listing restaurants, activities and local events, as well as plenty of ideas for entertaining the children. There is a huge write up of over 20 local restaurants that we recommend and if you want some 'adult time' we also supply the baby-sitting too!
In the summer months Angles organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays and night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.
Angles has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, five cafés/bars and four restaurants. There are also two supermarkets, two butchers, a fishmonger and a fruit & vegetable shop.
The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers can choose from a range of freshly-caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustine and gambas at the town's fish market which is open every weekday at 5am. Those who prefer a lie-in can sample the seafood later in the day at one of the many wonderful fish restaurants in the town.
Whether you're an experienced cyclist or a leisure rider, this area has plenty of surprises in store for you. all along the 'Loire a Velo' signposted bike trial, you can marvel at the stunning Loire countryside, visit châteaux’s & Abbeys, stroll through quaint little towns & cycle through vineyards for over 110 miles!

La Tranche sur Mer / Angles area

Puy du fou grand park Puy du Fou is where time stands still - take a journey through 2,000 years of history. You will see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle, Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles and jousting knights plus a 1900 market town and a 18th Century Village. In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects. Other sporting activities on the coast The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer (10 minutes away) has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. La Rochelle The famous city of La Rochelle is just 45 minutes away. Explore the chic shops or watch the world go by from one of the many trendy bars or bistros. Fishing You can enjoy two types of fishing - On the freshwater rives upstream from the lock gates at Moricq (5 mins away), you can try for pike, perch, carp, bream and other bleak. You will need a licence which can be purchased at our office du tourism. Or you can fish in the saltwater reaches of the Lay, from the gates of Moricq to the mouth of the river which is subject to maritime regulations, so you can fish free of charge, for grey mullet, eels and plaice.

You will not be disappointed to find so many new games and toys for the kids to enjoy - Happy children = Happy parents!
The open-plan kitchen/sitting room has been meticulously furnished & equipped. You will also find a new large back kitchen with an additional 5 burner hob plus and extra oven. There are two large farmhouse kitchen tables where you can enjoy freshly baked croissants each morning! We have everything you would expect to find in the kitchen including washing machine, microwave & a huge stainless steel fridge freezer - (very important!) Lots of large serving dishes, crockery and cutlery have also been supplied so there will be no shortages when preparing a large family meal.
You will also find kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, dish clothes, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels & salt & pepper grinders at your disposal. A few less items to pack & always appreciated. For the little ones - we include a high chair, travel cot, changing mat, pushchair, plus essentials like a sterilizer & bottle warmer plus a huge selection of children’s toys from dressing up clothes to train sets.
Two master bedrooms, one twin (able to made into extra double if required) one triple bedroom (one set of bunk beds & adult size bed) & one quadruple bedroom (with two sets of bunk beds) For maximum comfort, all double beds have mattress toppers and the highest quality bed linen & bath towels are provided.
There are two family bathrooms at the property, both with double sink units, one with a huge shower, and one with a Jacuzzi bath and toilet. There is also a separate WC at the property.
Please note - one children’s bedroom does not have a window but extremely good lighting.

In the large mature gardens (1200m2) the children will love the children’s play area with swings, slide and sandpit.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion. Prices are based on up to 6 adults, 7 children sharing the property.
Prices are advertised in GBP, however, payments are taken in Euros on and exchange rate of 1.30%.
Credit Card payments are accepted, however a 2% surcharge applies with this method of payment. Alternatively payments can be made by international bank transfer.
Winter lets are welcome from Mid October through to Mid April each year at a price of 1500euros per month and are based on one family sharing. Bedding, electric, gas, water, personal taxes, sky packages or any fuel is not included within the price and is the responsibility of the tenant to pay.
Luxury 100% cotton bed linen is supplied within the price, as well as bath towels and bathroom hand towels. We also offer large 100% cotton beach towels for hire (saves that bit of extra room in the car on the way home for the great bottles of wine!)
