The Residence was totally renovated in 2004. On the beach, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, this wonderful residence, designed in colonial style, is ideally situated with direct access to the fine sandy beach, 50 m from the town centre and shops, and 150 m from the casino.
Originally towered by a dome, built in 1880, the residence has been completely renovated to offer you comfort and modern conveniences, all preserving its original architectural charm and with its attractive interior decoration, filled with tall columns, the residence appears to be a palace of one thousand and one nights.
The residence is equipped with a private outdoor and sunny heated swimming pool (11x6), a large terrace-solarium, views over the ocean and access to the beach. At your disposal: reception with lounge, breakfast room (with reservation), games area with snooker (and other games) and elevator.
Perfectly equipped, every apartment includes a lounge with sofa bed or pull-out beds, a fully equipped kitchen with dish washer, fridge, combination micro-wave and grill, electric hobs, coffee machine, kettle, toaster. Bathroom or shower room, WC. Most of the apartments have balcony or terrace. Satellite TV (with additional charge).
We have 3 types to rent, from 4 to 6 persons:
The BBU type with superb sea view is for 5 people (approx 31 à 39 m²).
There is a sofa bed or pull out bed in the lounge, 1 sleeping area with bunk beds or a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. There is a bathroom or a shower room with WC (some are separate).
Animals are accepted.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
Where is the Vendee : The Vendee lies between the Côte d'Argent and Brittany but with a character all of its own. The Atlantic Coast stretches 140 km, full of fine white sandy beaches with an amazing 210 days sunshine per year, a record rivalling that of the south of France.
The Vendée coast is renowned for its luminosity and is called locally "LA COTE DE LA LUMIERE"... The Vendée is rich with many museums, castles and heritage centres to visit.
It is a land of naturally preserved space with a variety of pleasures such as sandsurfing, horse riding, golfing, watersports and Spa Thalassotherapy centres offering revitalising salt water cures. The Vendée is reclaimed land and therefore flat and riddled with creeks, vast beaches and sand dunes inviting you to relax. In the dusk, fine pleasure ports transform into lively, welcoming stopovers with a variety of museums, gardens, festivals, folklore pageants and magnificent evening shows.
The region is covered with working salt marshes, oyster beds, potato fields, vineyards and provides a wealth of seafood. The Vendée offers colourful beauty and a variety of countryside from farmlands to the local marshes and Marais Poitevin Marshes, from forests, the sea and villages with their colourful markets selling the local speciality "Brioche Vendéenne" (a type of bread with a sweet taste). One can relive the past by visiting cloisters, abbeys, inhabited Château and the picturesque surroundings encompassed by magnificent windmills. You couldn't have a better setting for seaside fun, plenty of space on the gently sloping beaches where you can cool off, or picnic in the fragrant pine woods which sweep down to the sand dunes. The La Tranche sur Mer area
The Resort Opposite the Ile de Ré, the fun resort of Sud Vendée Atlantique offers 13 km of fine sandy beaches and exceptional conditions for lovers of water sports : wind surfing, sailing, boat trips? Its ideal situation and its favourable climate, the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, wind and sun are also advantages for fun boarding and surfing. The white houses and narrow streets give La Tranche-sur-Mer a French Mediterranean character and a natural desire for sun, waves and excitement ! Biking trails and pedestrian routes encourage young and old to discover the natural surroundings (beaches, forests, marsh). From its pier, La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré can be seen, and the Ile d?Aix is also visible from the coast. Between ocean and marsh , proud of its calm beauty and its fauna and flora, a forest of 440 hectares of maritime pine trees and green oaks ensures that the Parc des Floralies (7 hectares) is filled with wonderful floral scents . To discover : The festival of Games (for children) on the week-end of the ascension (the last Thursday in May), and in summer La Déferlante, a festival of charms and celebration on different evenings : street theatre, music, shows? !

All the western Channel ferry ports are ideal for this region. Also there are many local airports for flights to the Vendee : Nantes International Airport is an hour's drive to the Vendee coast. There are flights to/from Paris and other major european capitals, plus a daily flight to/from Gatwick, and Ryan Air now fly from 4 destinations - Stanstead, East Midlands, Dublin and Shannon. Easy Jet or Ryan Air also have reasonably priced flights to Lorient (nearest airport for Morbihan accommodation), Dinard, la Rochelle, Poitiers. There are various itinerary web sites giving directions for travelling around France. Clients have recommended the following : the AA, Michelin (distances and times on property pages are from Michelin) and Mappy. You will be given the actual road name of your accommodation in each town.
