Located in sought after Phase 9 of this popular family and golf resort, this fabulous light and airy apartment is slightly larger than average and is comfortably furnished, well equipped with support on site. The spacious balcony overlooks two of the best pools on the resort just downstairs (a lift makes it suitable for pushchairs and the elderly or golf clubs) and large gardens with a play area. There is lots of storage throughout and room for a cot in the master bedroom. Child friendly and safe, our photos tell the truth (even if some are looking a little grey the walls are white!). It is a short stroll to the resort centre, supermarket and Clubhouse yet peaceful with lots of parking. People we have taken there have always said how impressed they are with the apartment and the resort. We have stayed there often since our 9 year old was 2 and we have many repeat bookings.The attractive waterside resort centre has a great atmosphere and is vibrant for most of the year, but is quieter in winter as you'd expect, nevertheless all our guests have enjoyed themselves no matter what the time of year and we have welcomed repeat guests this year for 5 weeks during February/March. We have provided European and UK TV channels, DVD, free WIFI, Ipod dock/CD player for some home comforts. Sunbeds, too. Please return these to the apartment after use.WHAT KIND OF HOLIDAY? Perfect for any kind of break you can think of: POOL, BEACH. GOLF, walking in the nearby national parks, Murcia and Cartagena for culture; a sunny break outside school holidays when flights and accommodation are more reasonable, perhaps. We take a lot of trouble to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible so please ask for help if you need it. GOLF: this is a great destination with a year round climate and a discount on green fees on the excellent Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf course (par 68) and its sister resorts nearby. A golf form can be provided which gives you discounted green fees at La Torre and its sister resorts Mar Menor, Hacienda Riquelme, El Valle etc. (All IRM courses). Currently we do not charge for this. Please check the IRM website for details or drop us an email for 2015 offers. Offer until April 31st on IRM website: 6 day golf card, pay first 3 days normal rate, 4th and 5th days reduced price, 6th day free. Bring your booking contract and present with golf letter at the golf club when booking. David and Linda live on site and provide our meet and greet and cleaning/laundry service.A guest who stayed last July wrote this about David's meet and greet service: "Just to say thank you very much for allowing my son and I to stay in your lovely apartment. It was exactly as described and we were extremely pleased with the accommodation. David who greeted us was exceptionally nice and could not do enough for us. He showed us how everything worked and gave us his home tel no in case we needed anything, which I think was so helpful of him and way above what we would have expected. He gave us tips on where to eat and places to go etc and I cannot sing his praises enough.""I have already done a review and gave you five stars all the way . We had a fab time and definitely hope to return next year. Your apartment was wonderful and fully deserves to be five stars." Guest July 2014. We had so many lovely comments from guests last year we must be doing something right and this year the feedback is just as good.PRICING - is for the apartment as a whole, not how many people stay. Judging by the number of bookings we have received this year our pricing policy obviously makes sense. We think it is extremely good value and there is plenty of space whether it's two people or six who book. Please see our prices for meet and greet, extra linen and cleaning charges under MEET and GREET.The APARTMENT is on the first floor - fully air-conditioned and centrally heated - access by stairs or lift - lots of parking on the street outside.2 bedrooms, 1 twin room with double wardrobe and bedside cabinet, master bedroom made up as a double but can be made up as a twin bedded room. There is room for a cot/camp bed in here too. Please ask about hire. Double wardrobe, bedside tables, chest of drawers.1 modern bathroom, with good sized bath (shower over bath), basin, WC, bidet. Separate hairdryer.Spacious living area with dining table and six very comfortable chairs, two sofas - one is a double sofa bed, free standing lights, coffee table, glass fronted tall cupboard, unit for TV/DVD, Cable TV with UK and European channels, free WIFI, telephone (incoming and inter resort calls only) and Ipod dock/CD player.Kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle. Well stocked with utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses. Utility area with boiler (carbon monoxide detector), cleaning equipment and washing machine beyond and portable sunbeds are also stored here. Please return these to the apartment after use as the pool guards will take them away if you leave them by the pool.Balcony - discreet drying area in alcove, furnished with table and six chairs still leaving plenty of room. Stunning views over the pools and gardens. The pools are beautifully lit at night. The balcony benefits from morning and afternoon winter sun.Cots and high chairs can be hired and will be ready and payable on arrival. Please ask for details. Prices range from 10-15 euros per item per week.A welcome pack containing all the essentials such as bread, butter, milk, coffee, tea, can be ordered in advance at cost price plus 5 euros if you are arriving out of supermarket hours. The supermarket opens 9am-8pm Mon-Sat and 10.30-2.30 on Sundays.MEET and GREET - David and Linda live on resort. On leaving the airport, call them on the number we will give you and they will meet you at the gates of the resort, take you round the apartment, answer questions and be on hand should you need anything. If you have problems en route they will also be able to help. They also organise the laundry and cleaning before and after you leave. For this they charge a fee which is payable on arrival of 60 euros (10 euros is for meet and greet). This is in line with other apartments and we think it is reasonable. We try to keep rental prices down and in many cases if we do not pass on this charge we make a loss ! Please add 7 euros per person for laundry over 4 people, and bring your own swimming towels. The new light, absorbent swimming towels are perfect for travelling and don't take up much room in your suitcase.TRAVELING TO THE RESORT FROM THE AIRPORT - San Javier 20 minutes, Alicante 50 minutes.If you are planning not to hire a car taxis are freely available at San Javier airport and cost roughly 35 euros each way. Nev who lives on resort will do this journey for 25 euros each way (2015 prices may change slightly). Feedback from people who have used him have described him as very efficient and welcoming. A guest who stayed in August 2014 said 'the pick up worked brilliantly and Nev was very welcoming'.THE RESORTLa Torre features a fabulous Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf course (more about golf further down the page). This is a child friendly destination too with safe pools and play areas. There are tennis courts you can use - the Davis Cup was played here a few years ago; bicycles can be hired from the shop opposite the well stocked supermarket.EATING OUT ON RESORT: the resort centre is in a stunning waterside position with the Clubhouse overlooking the golf course and a selection of bars, restaurants (Las Acacias, the Italian restaurant is very popular so book in advance; Tapas, Irish theme bar, El Limonero, Bamboo Club restaurant, bar and disco) and delicious ice-cream shop which is a favourite with kids and adults alike! It is a lovely setting too, with tables in the square or along the waterfront to eat at on warm evenings, or you can simply soak up the atmosphere. Further details about eating out off resort are listed under 'the area'.There is a hair and beauty salon and a bank which is open on Monday and Thursday mornings and a hole in the wall cash dispenser in the town centre should you run short of cash. San Javier (Murcia) Airport is 15 minutes away and Alicante is only 50 minutes away, so it is easy to find a flight. Whether you want to sunbathe and swim in the beautiful Mediterranean, be an occasional culture vulture (Murcia and Cartagena are historic cities), walk in the national parks, spend time on the beach, snorkel in coves, try a new water sport, or play golf, there is something here for you. La Torre is an excellent springboard from which to explore the surrounding area, the Costa Calida. Spend a morning at one of the local markets, visit the local nature reserve, try the restaurants and explore the other places of interest in the area. Los Alcazares has great beaches, a pretty marina, a lovely promenade and restaurants offering a wide range of cuisines and local Spanish food. If you are a year round golfer, the central heating in the apartment makes it perfect for autumn, winter and chilly spring evenings. Apart from the stunning Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf course at La Torre there are several sister golf courses nearby and free courtesy buses to the other golf resorts in the area: Condado del Alhama, Mar Menor, Hacienda de Riquelme. Other top quality golf courses such as La Finca, Villa Martin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor and La Manga are less than 45 minutes away. Who can we contact if there's a problem?David and Linda live across the street and we will give you their contact details so they can meet you there. They will give you their telephone number that you can ring on the internal telephone and you will have their mobile number for meet and greet. Our mobile number is also on the Holiday Lettings listing and I have received calls when I am away myself, so we take your comfort very seriously!The apartment is well-stocked - we went there whenever we could several years running and treated it as our home. We hope you enjoy it.

The Murcia region
The Murcia Region has become an established popular Spanish holiday destination More than 300 days of sun a year, an average temperature of 21 degrees centigrade, beautiful Mediterranean beaches and coves where you can soak up the sun or try the vast array of water sports if you feel more energetic. Los Alcazares or the the warm waters of the Mar Menor - the little sea - are beautifully safe and shallow for children. Walk the pretty lanes of Murcia only 30 minutes away, take in one of the museums, go to the wonderful cathedral, or sit in a cafe in the lovely squares and watch the world go by while you have a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine. Cartagena dates back to Roman times and has a number museums, a spectacular marina and the oldest submarine ever made. The city walls are impressive and give way to some beautiful old streets lined with restaurants and shops.
If you love the outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities to walk and explore the national parks. Perhaps you love riding or Go-Karting. There are stables 15 minutes away from La Torre. You can swim with sea lions at the Aqua Park/Terra Natura and go rafting near Murcia.
Alternatively you can stay on resort knowing that there is plenty to do and all the amenities that you could want. A great supermarket, bars, restaurants, a bank, hairdresser and chemist situated in the waterside village only a 5 minute stroll from your apartment. Or relax by the pool. Feel the sun on your face and leave your worries at home.
La Torre Golf Resort
EATING OUT: why not go to one of the local markets for some local Spanish delights. Indian, Chinese and other international restaurants are within a five minute drive. The Jaipur Palace (Indian - good) and the Alhambra Palace (Indian and grill) restaurants in nearby Balsicas also offer free pick up and drop off from the resort. We tried the Wok Chinese restaurant next to the Jaipur Palace. It's huge but has a fabulous buffet, starter, choose your main course freshly cooked in front of you and pudding all for 8.95 euros (Feb 2014). The Indian Gateway restaurant in Roldan, 5 minutes drive behind the resort is also good. There are two Italian restaurants here also.
Murcia and Cartagena are both historic cities with much to see: cathedrals, museums, as well as some charming little streets with interesting shops and good food. Cartagena has a fabulous marina. Drive down to the port, park in the underground car park and stroll down the promenade on the way to the old town. This has a really good range of restaurants and shops. Murcia has interesting boutiques and restaurants and lovely squares in which to enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. It also has a very good children's playground centrally placed in the park by the river.
There is a 5* Intercontinental Hotel on La Torre's sister resort the Mar Menor Golf Resort with a gym, spa and pool that you can join daily or weekly for reasonable rates. Mar Menor is 15 minutes from La Torre and has a good golf course too. You can get a good lunch in the hotel bar.
There are supermarkets and hypermarkets in San Javier and Los Alcazares and Ikea in Murcia. There is also a fabulous new shopping centre at La Zenia. Ask for details when you arrive.
Le Torre Golf Resort is approximately 15 Kilometres from the Costa Calida coastline and from Murcia Airport (San Javier) with economy flights daily from many UK and European Cities. It is also only 50 minutes from Alicante Airport.
Also coming soon to Murcia in 2015/16 - Paramount Theme Park and Lifestyle Centre which is only 30 minutes drive from the apartment... Great New Attraction.
La Torre is only a 15 minute drive away from:
• Loz Alcazares: with its wonderful promenades, beach bars and plentiful restaurants;
• Pedro do Pinotar: where you can see flocks of flamingos and enjoy the salt lakes and wildlife preserves: - arguably the healthiest environment in the whole of Europe;
•Santiago de la Ribera: where you can take a 30 minute ferry-ride to La Manga or eat at one of the excellent sea-food restaurants on the beach, looking out onto the Mar Menor.
Golf Deluxe is near the Mar Menor resort off Junction 790 of the AP7 going towards Cartagena. Turn left after 1km on the road to Torre Pacheco. This offers a great family day out with a more sophisticated mini golf course and an on-site restaurant.
Within 1 hour's drive, you can escape into the Sierra De Espina National Park with its beautiful forest walks and outdoor activities.
There are also amusement/water parks for family days out in the area: the Aquapark in Torrevieja (30mins) is open in the summer. Terra Mitca - a classic theme park experience giving a fun day out for all the family. At Terra Natura you can see how animals live in their natural habitat and discover the people and places of each region.
There is go-karting, riding, sailing, a host of water sports and lots more to do. The locals are also very friendly! Enjoy!

"For a young family vacation it ticks all the boxes"
Taking our two young children, 5 and 2, we couldn't fault the apartment, quite, and the locations for all amenities especially the pool, club house and the well stocked spa. A car is needed if you want to explore. Perfectly located within 20 minutes drive to the beach, shopping malls, larger supermarkets etc. It is a real shame the hotel and some of the restaurants are closed in the village part of the resort, but this didn't stop us enjoying what was on offer. Shame there is not a kids club but every week they did put on a bouncy castle, face painting etc in the village square. A well rested holiday, kids absolutly loved it and will be looking to go back in 2016.

We had a really enjoyable few days in La Torre - the communication with Polly was excellent and we were well looked after with both a perfect airport pick up and meet and greet and felt people were on hand if needed while we were there. The apartment was lovely and clean and in close proximity to the pool, town centre and shop and the resort was well kept and friendly. We had lovely weather and a nice relax without any stresses. The only thing extra we could have done with is an extra sun lounger so we had one each for by the pool but other then that - a thoroughly enjoyable stay which I would recommend.

"Fabulous apartment on a fabulous golf resort"
The apartment and resort were of the highest standard. Exactly like the pictures on the advertisement. Polly is always contactable even when she is on holiday herself! Phase 9 of La Torre has the friendliest residents and vacationers of the resort. With the largest and most sociable quadrant. Highly recommend and will be back. The upgraded air conditioning was a god send in the height of August. If you are a golfer you are able to play all the IRM courses at a reduced rate. Remember to take a copy of your booking form for the apartment as proof of stay, this entitles you to the reduced rate and all courses can be booked at any of the pro shops. The jack nicklaus designed courses are the best conditioned and best courses courses we have played on. A welcoming bottle of bubbly for our wedding anniversary was a lovely touch, many thanks.
