About the home

Exquisitely designed air conditioned townhouse is located on La Torre Golf Resort, the focal point resort of the Nicklaus Golf Trail, with 24hr security and controlled access points. The property is set over three floors with a terrace to each and sleeps up to 7 people. Located to the tranquil outside of the resort away from stray golf balls but only 400m from the supermarket and town centre the house provides the perfect location to enjoy what is now a beautiful and established resort. Lie back, relax and watch the sun disappear behind the mountains from the luxurious first floor terrace suite or 2nd floor private solarium, ideal for sun worshippers.

We have established a reliable contact for organising Golf Trips if that is to be part of your holiday. They will organise tee times and pickups and also offer lessons in the Art of Putting (tried and tested by us). We have other family owned property (Apartments to Villas) for those looking for numerous properties.

A gentle 5 minute stroll leads to the pool complexes, Intercontinental Hotel with Spa and restaurants, well equipped town centre and prestigious impressively designed clubhouse and conference facility. The town centre is set around a lake with views to the golf course and offers endless options to dine out at one of the 11 restaurants ranging from the clubhouse Pinos Bar and terraces to the the Intercontinental Hotel. Ice Cream Parlour, Italian, Spanish, Asian, Tapas bar and Irish bar. The town centre contains a well stocked supermarket, pharmacy, hairdressers, bank and spa hotel facilities. Across the resort are 16 communal pool and garden areas, recreation areas, children's playgrounds, gardens, tennis courts and the 18 hole Nicklaus designed golf course. Beaches of the Mar Menor and La Manga are a 15-20 minute drive away with various sailing and water sports available.

A free shuttle bus between Polaris resorts allows you to enjoy the golf courses and amenities of the whole polaris group.

La Torre golf resort, the focal point resort of the Nicklaus golf Trail (currently 4 courses) provides golfers with the opportunity to combine the challenges of the various courses with the quality cuisine offered by the variety of restaurants and bars on the Polaris resorts.

The Murcia region

An Ideal Climate

The Costa Calida, Spain’s warm coast, is certainly deserving of it’s name. With over 320 days per year of sunshine there are more sunny days in the Murcia region than any where else in Spain with average temperatures of 21oC.

A Region to Discover

The Murcia region is an unspoilt area in the south east of Spain with 250km of beaches along the shores of 2 seas: the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. A paradise where you can relax and enjoy yourself.

The Mar Menor (small sea)

Just 15 minutes from the resort, the Mar Menor is a huge (135 sq km) salt-water lagoon, separated from the Mediterranean by the 24 km long La Manga strip. The Mar Menor's salinity provides buoyancy so it is, supposedly, one of the safest places to swim in the world, it is also renowned for it’s high water temperatures which are retained well in to the autumn months. The mineral-rich waters are said to have therapeutic effects and because of this the area has a significant spa tourism industry. Take in the beautiful views of the Mar Menor from the extensive level promenades that run along side the beaches from San Pedro del Pintar to Santiago del la Ribera and are perfect for cycling or a relaxing walk (with pushchairs or wheel chairs) and stop off at one of the many beach side cafes or bars.

The Beaches and Water Sports

Soft sandy beaches with numerous children’s play areas on the sand, coupled with the calm waters of the Mar Menor make it ideal both for children and for the extensive water sports that are on offer here. These include Jet skiing, wind surfing, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, and scuba diving.

Shopping

The cities of Murcia & Cartegena both boast excellent shopping facilities.

At San Javier just 20 minutes drive away is Dos Mares shopping mall, which includes 10 pin bowling, cinema and an extensive food hall.

Towards Murcia, 20 minutes in the other direction is Nueva Condomina. This recently opened shopping mall with some 200 shops, including many U.K high street chains that you will be familiar with. This complex also provides a huge range of restaurants, 10 pin bowling and 6 screen cinema.

Water Park & Animal Park (Opened summer 2007)

The New Water park (Terra Aqua Murcia) and Animal park (Terra Natura Murcia) provide a wonderful family day out, with something for all ages just 15 minutes from the resort in fact on the way to Nueva Condiminia and the new football stadium see below.

Football

Football fans...look up Real Murcia, they are playing in the Spanish Premier League for the 2007/2008 season. They have a new purpose built stadium just to the north of the city next door to Nueva Condominia, so why not combine your shopping day with a football game.

Nature

Enjoy exploring this area know as the garden of Spain with it’s outstanding natural beauty. There are many national parks and an abundance of wildlife and birds to be discovered.

History

The beautiful Roman port of Cartagena the Milennial Port of the Mediterranean know 2000 years ago as Carthagonova and Murcia City with it’s historic cathedral (1388) are both just a short drive away and well worth a visit.

La Torre Golf Resort & spa is characterized by a truly Mediterranean-style, white-washed properties and wide avenues complimented by the most varied of plant life. A universe of green fairways, open spaces all brought together by the spectacular water village and towncentre.

The wonderful Towncentre has much to offer you no matter what your desire, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and café’s. The golf course features over 5 hectares of elaborately sculpted bunkers which help to separate the holes and create a strategic challenge to all levels of golfers. The golf course brings together many water hazards including 2 island green par three’s a sent to test you around this par 68 out layout.

A PRO’S VIEW OF THE LA TORRE GOLF COURSE ( Palm & water style)

The La Torre golf course is the second Jack Nicklaus project within Polaris World to be released. The golf course is set against a back drop of white washed properties and imposing yet magical palms and with over 55 hectors of sculpted bunkers you had better bring your imagination and you’re sand wedge.

This strategic palm and water style course will most certainly keep you enthralled and on you’re toe’s. With 5 island greens and 3 impressive lakes this immaculately maintained green white and blue oasis will impress even the most well travelled competitor.

THE FRONT 9

The first tee is situated in front of the extraordinary Club House and Town Centre and will gently eases you into a false sense of security. A 3 wood and a short iron will be sufficient for most player’s to reach a sublimely straight forward 1st hole, however the test really begins as you aboard the 2nd tee. Holes 2 through to 8 unfold before you with attractive simplicity, however before finishing the first 9 holes there is one contest still to face. The par 3 9th with its island green will claim many a player’s hopes of a era free front 9.

THE BACK 9

As you drive at number 10 you know the back 9 means business and none more so than the 200 metre par 3 11th. Again this island green will have you breathing deep and hopefully not reaching for a provisional. The 12th is clear cut birdie chance par 5 followed 2 calculated par 4’s. If you are lucky enough to be carrying a lead into the last 3 holes look out. The 16th is a risk and reward hole surrounded by aqua and unless you find the green at 17 a bogie or worse will most probably follow. The 18th hole is a friendly finish, none the less the fairway is paramount from the tee as the green is heavily undulated and surround by a bunker that wouldn’t look out of place next to the ocean.

Jack planned La Torre to offer resort style high thrills golf, with much to discuss after the round is over. If you’re looking for a test of both your golf and your mind La Torre Golf will leave you elated !!

My parents had a fabulous time (it certainly beat the weather here too!) and they were really impressed with the standard of accommodation. They thought the house was decorated tastefully as well as being very practical and clean (something my mum is particular about!).
