La Torre Golf Resort / Polaris World, La Torre areaArrive at the gated community of La Torre to be greeted by tree lined avenues, whitewashed villas, town houses and apartments. A town centre built around an attractive lake offers restaurants and bars. A five star intercontinental hotel and spa are under construction as this is written. There are communal pools with spas around the resort together with children's play areas. There is a well stocked supermarket and a health centre. The resort offers 24 hour security. The property is adjacent to the fifteenth green and together with the La Torre course golfers are able to play the other Polaris courses. All these have been designed by Jack Nicklas and there is also a magnificent clubhouse, golf academy and driving range. There is a residents discount for golf, please ask at the time of booking. Murcia San Javier airport is 15 minutes from the resort or Alicante airport is approximately an hour away between both airports there are flights from every part of the UK. The new Corvera airport which will be about twenty minutes away is presently under construction and will hopefully be ready for 2009. All the major rental car companies can be found at both airports although if you prefer there are good taxi services from both airports. Private airport pickups can also be arranged. There are several airlines offering cheap flights i.e. Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, BMiBaby, Flybe and Monach.
