There is a golf academy, on site professionals, a practice putting area and driving range. The La Torre Golf Resort is beautifully landscaped with large avenues, fountains, numerous communal pools, children's playgrounds, tennis courts, a private hospital and English school. All this is within a gated community with 24 hour monitored access and security patrols. The beautiful beaches of the Mar Menor are within easy reach as are the towns of Murcia and Cartaghena.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region

The Costa Calida extends along 250km from the beach of Carolina in Aguilas, a few kilometers from the province of Almeria, to the beach at El Mojon on the boundary with Alicante. This stretch of Murcian coastline is blessed with 315 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 21 degrees. The area offers a diverse selection of activities for the visitor including all manner of water sports, hiking, hill-climbing and much more. The Mar Menor is the 'world's largest pool' and sits in the southeast of Murcia. It is a shallow lagoon of 170 square km with warm waters and gentle winds. It is known to be one of the best places in Europe to learn water sports. First the Phoenicians then later the Arab Kings made this 'little sea' their summer retreat. The Mar Menor is separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of land only 22km wide, called La Manga del Mar Menor. Its sandy beach and clear waters have made it one of the highest regarded resorts on the Mediterranean. The beaches are complimented by a huge range of hotels, casinos, golf courses and everything a holiday-maker could wish for. A few minutes away is Cabo de Palos, a charming seafront village with a unique 19th century lighthouse and two delightful beaches. The Costa Calida begins at El Mojon, an old fishing village with a superb beach. A short distance from El Mojon you will find the Regional Park of Las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar, the most important wetlands in the region of Murcia. Flocks of pink flamigos rest here each year. The saltworks here were exploited by the Romans and are a complex network of pools. From here take the road to San Pedro del Pinatar and visit the Casa del Reloj on the San Sebastian Farm. Two kilometers away is Lo Pagan, a town with the largest area of open-area mud baths in Europe. These mud baths are recommended for all kinds of skin complaints. In addition you will find several tranquil beaches, an early morning fish market and ample night-life.

There are plenty of beaches within easy driving distance from the blue flag beaches at Mazzaron, La Manga, to Cabo Roig. The closest are at Los Alcazares, San Pedro del Pinatar and San Pedro del Ribiera. These are all on the Mar Menor and are perfect for those travelling with children with calm warm water and gently sloping beaches. The nearest towns are Balsicas and Torre Pacheco which have plenty of small supermarkets. The enormous air-conditioned Dos Mares shopping centre can be found in San Javier only 20 minutes away. Lidl and Aldi can also be found here on the road to the beach. Murcia has plenty of indoor shopping malls and an interesting old town. The port city of Cartaghena is about a 40 minute drive and has a fabulous old town and marina. Well worth a visit for tapas and ice-cream.

How to get there

Situated 15 minutes from the capital of Murcia, La Torre is located in Torre Pacheco, next to the Murcia-San Javier motorway. The airport at San Javier is a 20 minute drive and continuing on the A7 motorway Alicante Airport can be reached in a further 30 minutes.

Both bedrooms are beautifully furnished with fitted wardrobes, voile curtains and shutters, one has a kingsize bed the other twin beds. Each room has French windows opening onto a large balcony running the width of the apartment and both rooms are fully air-conditioned.

The spacious fully tiled bathroom has a large bath, shower with screen, toilet, bidet, hand basin, heated towel rail and window.

The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel hob, built in oven and hood. Large silver fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee maker, kettle and toaster.

The utility room is a separate room with door adjacent to the kitchen, it is an enclosed outdoor area perfect for drying clothes. The washing machine, combi boiler, ironing board and iron can be found here.

The spacious air-conditioned living area is comprised of a dining area with table, 4 chairs and overhead lighting and a seating area with 2 leather sofas, TV, DVD and satellite TV box.

The stunning roof terrace is accessed directly from the living area and has a table and chairs and gas barbecue for alfresco dining. The terrace receives sun all day and has a magnificent frontline view of the golf course, lake, fruit trees and mountains in the distance.

There is a golf academy, on site professionals a practice putting area and driving range. You can also play at any of the other Polaris World courses in the area and have access to the Polaris Sports Centre and Beach Club (presently under construction).
