The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The Costa Calida region has an enviable climate with an average temperature of 21 degrees centigrade and 320 days of sunshine per year. There is local markets galore for the casual shopper, castles, monuments, tapas bars and shops. The coastline has long sandy beaches, secluded bays and marinas. The Polaris La Torre Golf resort is only 15 minutes from Murcia (San Javier) airport and 1 hour casual drive from Alicante airport. Both airports offer regular flights on low cost airlines from numerous locations in the UK and Europe. Los Alcazares beach and marina are just 15 minutes away and are disabled friendly, as is the popular lagoon of the Mar Menor. The larger, white sanded beaches in the region can be found slightly further up the coast between Torrevieja and Alicante. This is one of the most fertile regions in Europe, producing some of the finest fruit and vegetables in Europe, a fact that is reflected in the exquisite cuisine
La Torre Golf Resort area
This luxury 5* complex is the second of the Polaris World Resorts and it is situated in Torre Pacheco, next to the Murcia-San Javier dual carriageway.
La Torre consists of villas, townhouses and apartments. The 18 hole golf course has been designed by Jack Nicklaus and in the centre will be a fishing village built around a large lake which will be a beautiful focus. The complex has a security controlled entrance and 24 hour per day patrol to ensure your safety. La Torre is an 18 hole par 68 golf course designed by Nicklaus Design. All 18 holes are open
It features over five hectares of sophisticated bunkers that separate the holes, creating strategic points which provided added value to the shots. Plus, a denser grass was planted around the bunkers, creating the optimum wind shot effect.
It has 6 par 3's with the 11th and and 17th, a carry over water of 170 yds plus 2 par 5's, both of which are approx 500 yds. Accuracy is required for the par 4's so keep that driver in your bag! The greens are in excellent condition, undulating and quite fast!
As with all the Polaris World Golf Courses, they are designed to be enjoyed by both beginners and more challenging for experienced players. The driving range is also their for novices like me
The resort features a superb clubhouse, bars, a luxurious restaurant, superb pools, supermarket, playgrounds and tennis courts.
The resort is just 10 minutes away from the Mar Menor Golf Resort and people staying at La Torre may use all the facilities at Mar Menor including the 9 hole golf course. Also El Valle will be opening their course in the near future.

This brand new luxurious, ground floor, 2 bedroom is waiting for you. Stylishly furnished, Apartment Hamilton has a lounge, separate kitchen and one bathroom with fitted shower, which has a quality marble finish.
Step through sliding glass doors into your own private terrace. BBQ under the stars or relax during the day on the comfortable garden furniture. Excellent access for disabled ensures all guests staying at Apartment Hamilton will be able to fully relax.
The large community pool is situated in front of the apartment (so no worries for parents). Toddlers have their own splash pool, whilst adults can relax in the Jacuzzi set amongst landscaped gardens with views to the fantastic Jack Nicklaus golf course.
For those guests who may need to stay in touch with the UK, a broadband connection is available in the apartment along with a telephone that allows incoming calls (plus free calls to other Polaris World properties)
Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 has a double bed in this spacious room with fitted wardrobes and a ceiling fan to keep you cool. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds that can be joined together to make a double, there are also fitted wardrobes and a ceiling fan.
Living Room
The living room has seating for up to 6 people. There is a large double sofabed and a large double settee; the dining area has an elegant table and 4 chairs. Included is a TV, which provides English channels and a DVD hi-fi with a large selection of films.
Kitchen
The kitchen has all facilities, oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, toaster and toastie maker and all that you would reasonably expect to find at home.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a shower with shower stool for those who need the support, WC with a grab rail and handbasin.
Accessibility
The apartment is wheelchair accessible, we have had an electric scooter in the apartment with no problems, the only unaccessible area is the threshold of the patio door.
Coast/Beach
The glorious beaches on the Mar Menor, Costa Calida are a very short 15 minute drive away and are accessible for disabled guests.

We have a terrace with furniture and sun loungers and also a garden for our sole use. There is a barbecue on the terrace. We also have the biggest swimming pool on the resort directly in front of our terrace for you to cool down in.
La Torre facilities include numerous outdoor swimming pools and Jacuzzi areas, tennis courts and children's play areas. This, along with a selection of restaurants and bars, Including Irish bar, Italian restaurant and ice cream parlour ensure that there is something for all.
Day to day facilities include a supermarket with an excellent range of food and non food goods for the discerning holiday maker and even a small cafe, the supermarket also boasts takeaway food for those lazy days. A health and beauty salon and health store will excite those adventurous ladies among you with an exciting range of treatments for you to try.
The bars host entertainment and activities. There is also a shuttle bus service between the Polaris World Resorts during the summer months.
