Take time to enjoy the lifestyle of Spain in the Murcia Mar Menor region. The area holds fabulous stretches of unspoilt beaches for you to stroll down and enjoy. Beautiful restaurants provide fabulous fresh seafood, meats and cheeses at very reasonable prices. If a fine wine is what you crave then the local bodegas (wine cellars) have a wonderful selection of wine so you can enjoy a real taste of Spain.
REGION HISTORY
Murcia was founded in 831 and lies in the middle of the valley, through which the river segura flows. Murcia has the choice of “two seas” on the coastline, the Mediterranean with its endless beaches of white sand, crystal clear water, magnificent ports and picturesque coves and the Mar Menor, which was originally an open bay but is now a large coastal lake / lagoon and measures around 170km.
If you prefer to shop then visit the busy cities of Murcia, Alicante, Cartagena boasting varied and excellent shopping centres. Traditional village markets operate daily allowing you to sample local delicacies and styles. The largest and busiest market of all is at Cabo de Palos and is well worth a visit to sample local goods.
Adventure junkies can visit the beach club at Mar de Cristal. Try windsurfing, jet skiing and kite surfing or even horse riding at the local riding stables.
For a more cultured experience the inland areas include conservation areas with a wide range of bird life, and stunning natural beauty. The area is a historical adventure with incredible architecture and museums for you to explore.

For those hoping to enjoy the resort and pursue a passion for skiing then Siera Nevada can cater to your needs. The Sierra Nevada ski resort is approximately 2-3 hours drive away with and can be accessed via good road links from the La Torre Golf Resort

Collect your car from the airport and proceed to the exit.
Proceed down the exit road to the roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted to AP7 Alicante/Cartagena.
At the next roundabout take 2nd exit signposted AP7 San Pedro del Pinatar/Alicante. Take 1st exit right onto C3319 signposted Murcia.
At next roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted C3319 Murcia. After 13km pass La Torre Golf Resort on your left - all white buildings.
Take 2nd exit on the right signposted Sucina/El Garruchal.
At roundabout take 3rd exit signposted San Javier, cross over flyover.
At next roundabout take 2nd exit signposted San Javier.
At the next roundabout take 1st exit signposted Urbanizacion. La Torre Golf Resort is 2km on the right.
From Alicante Airport (45 mins away):
From the airport take the AP7 Motorway South signposted Cartagena.
Approx. 30 minutes take the exit signposted C3319 Murcia.
At this point follow the directions above on the C3319 to La Torre Golf Resort.
Murcia San Javier nearest airport is 20 minutes drive away from the resort.
Alicante is 45 minutes drive away from the resort.
Balsicas train station is 4km away and provides links to the cities of Murcia and Cartegena.
Taxis are available at very competitive prices to most local destinations.
Courtesy coaches are available between Polaris World and other resorts within the same area meaning you can access and use all the facilities and golf courses on other Polaris World resorts.
The area is easily accessible direct from most UK airports at very favourable and competitive rates. Car hire is advisable if you wish to travel off the La Torre site. Car Hire is accessible on-line via a large range of mainstream competitive companies allowing you to collect and drop off your hire car at local airports.

This appt is lovely modern and clean with everything you could need. The supermarket is a short walk away , as is the golf club house , and the swimming pool. The resort was great with young children who are happy to play in the pool all day. We went high season and still found lots of space around the pool area. You take your sun loungers from the appt to the pool so no fighting over sunbeds !! My husband played golf several times at La Torre but also found other courses near by ( cheaper to pre book at the golf shop just outside the resort ) Beaches are max half hour away . Couple of restaurants and a pub on site ( slightly overpriced ) but again a few just outside or towns for more nightlife half hour away. This holiday was great for us to relax by the pool with young children ( 7 and 4 ) and we will definately book again. |
