About the home

Apartment comprises 2 twin bedrooms, lounge/diner, separate kitchen and family bathroom. We have furnished it with good quality fixtures and equipped it with everything you need including air conditioning, central heating, dishwasher, UK TV and DVD player. There are also beach towels and pool toys.

Situated on the golf resort of La Torre, now established as one of the best resorts in the area with its own 4 star spa hotel, tennis courts, and a "town centre" with supermarket, pharmacy, bars, cafes and restaurants set around the lake. Obviously there is the golf course and clubhouse too with all the facilities you would expect from Polaris including a stunning terrace area and top quality restaurant.

The Murcia region

The Costa Calida, Spain’s warm coast, enjoys over 320 days per year of sunshine with average year-round temperatures of 21oC. The Murcia region is a largely agricultural region in the south east of Spain with 250km of beaches along the shores of 2 seas: the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. The Murcian Tourist office have ploughed millions of euros over the past 5 years to promote the area and improve the infrastructure, creating beautiful town centres, beach promenades and top quality golf resorts

The Mar Menor is just 15 minutes drive from the La Torre, a huge salt-water lagoon, separated from the Mediterranean by the 24 km long La Manga strip. Watersports of all kinds can be found here including jet skiing, wind surfing, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, and scuba diving. The mineral-rich waters are believed to have therapeutic effects, with the mud baths at San Pedro being a huge attraction during the summer months (great fun too!). There are beautiful views of the Mar Menor from the promenades that run alongside the natural dune beaches from San Pedro to Santiago which are perfect for cycling or a stroll with many beach side cafes and bars for when you get tired and thirsty. The larger beaches have numerous children’s play areas on the sand and life guards on duty.

The cities of Murcia & Cartegena are easily accessible by motorway and both boast excellent shopping facilities and many buildings and areas of historical interest . There are numerous colourful fiestas in both cities throughout the year. For local shopping there is Dos Mares shopping mall, about 20 minutes away, which includes 10 pin bowling, cinema and a food hall. The towns of San Pedro, San Javier and Los Alcazares all have a good varity of local shops as well as street markets.

Another great day out is the Water Park (Terra Aqua) & Animal Park (Terra Natura) at Murcia, with over 150 species of animals, many rare plants and trees and shows, rides, flumes etc

For walkers and explorers there are two national parks around Murcia, miles of sand dunes along the coast and loads of pretty white towns and villages scattered all over the area. Just the other side of Murcia are the wine-growing regions of Jumilla and the spa town of Fortuna with hot spring pools.

The La Torre Golf Resort / Polaris World, La Torre area

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday away from it all is right here in the resort....the "Town Centre" is built around a splendid lake where you will find a good selection of bars and restaurants, a 5 star Intercontinental hotel with gym and spa, a supermarket and a pharmacy. La Torre is designed in typical Mediterranean-style, with white-washed properties, palm-lined avenues and landscaped public spaces.

The par 68 golf course on site is now well established and offers challenges at all levels. It features over 5 hectares of bunkers, 3 large lakes and 2 island holes (Excellent fun!) There are practice facilities, a pro shop and of course the 19th Hole with beautiful sun terrace overlooking the lake and the course. A free shuttle bus service runs between La Torre and the other Polaris World golf courses at the Mar Menor, El Valle and Hacienda del Requieme.

Also on the resort are tennis courts, children's play areas and a number of other pool areas.
