The Costa Calida/Murcia region
OVERVIEW Set in the beautiful Murcian countryside with the glorious beaches of the Costa Cálida nearby this is a wonderful setting for a relaxing holiday.
With an average of 3000 hours sunshine each year and an average annual temperature of 18ºC the Costa Cálida (which means Warm Coast) offers a relaxing environment in both summer and winter. Murcia's coastline offers over 250km of white sandy beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea.
The region of Murcia, has a rich cultural heritage and a wealth of history evident through splendid artistic and architectural design visible in ancient monuments & buildings.
The coastline is dotted with picturesque fishing villages, ports and unique deserted coves while fans of water sports will discover a wealth of activities including sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, deep sea-diving, cave diving .A number of inland activities include fishing, hiking, rock-climbing, mountain-biking, para-gliding, horse-riding and rafting.
CITIES Because of its situation there are a number cities very accessible from La Tercia; Cartagena has a rich historical heritage heavily influenced by the Romans. Alicante is particularly good for shopping, Murcia with its cathedrals and university, Malaga loaded with architecture, shops and its botanical gardens. Torrevieja is also a short distance away with its famous salt lakes & flamingoes.
BEACHES & COAST The nearest beach is Santiago de la Ribera is on the Mar Menor, about a 20 minute drive. Its warm shallow waters provide an ideal location for family holidays. Not only is the swimming safer, but there is a wide range of water sports for everyone to enjoy. It also has a traditional Spanish feel & is very friendly.
A pleasant drive of 20-25 minutes brings you to Los Alcazares; with water sports, ancient spa, and marina. You can take a boat trip to the tiny island of Perdiguera. Being flat hiring a bicycle is great fun, or you can explore via horse back or take a stroll along the promenade & enjoy the different bars and Tavernas. If you fancy something British - go to the Pasty Shack - you must try their home made cheese cake - varieties vary - but the Bounty one is the best in our opinion. There are also bars with tapas along the beach front.
The region has excellent road and rail links. A regular train service runs to Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Alicante, Valencia and will soon be a stop on the AVE - the high velocity train service - Madrid-Valencia route. The closest train station to United Golf Resorts - La Tercia is Balsicas (5-10 minute drive Tel: 968 580 052)

The property is 15 minutes from Murcia (San Javier) airport and 45 minutes from Alicante airport. Airport pick ups can be arranged.

Further details indoors: LOUNGE/DINING AREA Dining area seats 6. Large comfy L-shaped leather sofa also accommodates 6 people and could be used to sleep on if required. 32" flat screen TV, with free Sky Satellite, DVD & small selection of DVDs, CDs & books.
KITCHEN & UTILITY Kitted out kitchen for self-catering with, oven, hob, extractor microwave, large fridge freezer, toaster, juicer. All cutlery and crockery provided. Plus there's an ironing board & iron in case your creased clothes are too bad to ignore! In the adjoining utility is a washing machine, clothes dryer, central vacuum system (you simply plug the hosing into special sockets throughout the apartment & vacuum away!).
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS The master bedroom has a double bed and an en suite bathroom, with bath, shower, toilet & bidet. There are 2 single beds in the remaining 2 bedrooms. One has a flat screen TV and DVD player. The second bathroom has a shower unit, toilet and bidet. There's also a hair-dryer, hair tongs and hair straighteners.
Further details outdoors: BALCONY A modest sized balcony with table and chairs for 6 people and a sun lounger. It also over sees a pool and children's' play area.It also has a fantastic view of the region as well as a view of the golf course.
COMMERCIAL CENTRE There is a Spar and a Sports Bar on the complex, that serves food at lunchtimes and in the evening. It has a pool table and table football. Bikes can be hired from here by the hour, day or week. Here there is also internet access. Either bring your lap top down or hire one. Further shops are anticipated to open in the commercial centre in the near future. Other restaurants can be visited from a 5 minute drive away.
POOLS There are a range of pools of differing shapes and sizes available. They have a shallow area for young children.
NATURE PATH There is a nature path to follow that leads to another children's play area and offers brilliant views
PARKING There is plenty of parking adjacent to the property
SECURITY There are security guards at both North and South entrances. The site is also regularly patrolled
RECYCLING There are bins which feed into an underground convey belt. Separate containers are insitu for organic, plastic, paper and carton waste

Changeover day is generally Saturday, but can alter according to pre-existing bookings.
Check in time 3.00 pm, and check out 10.00 am, although this maybe negotiable only if requested prior to arrival.
Linen, towels, air-conditioning/heating & cleaning fees are included within the price. please bring your own beach/pool towels.
Welcome packs can be arranged.
Conditions
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required upon booking and final payment is due 6 weeks prior to arrival. Reservations made within 6 weeks of the rental period require payment in full on booking.
A £100 refundable security deposit is required on booking. It would be advisable to take out Travel Insurance, with a cancellation clause, to enable you to recover non-refundable monies.
There are no refunds for late arrival, early departure, or emergencies.
