Home description
'Estrellitas' is set in large, beautiful lawned gardens, with its own 8x4m pool. The house is accessed by remote controlled electric gates. There are three bedrooms (one kingsize master & two twin-bedded). The master bedroom has a large ensuite bathroom, and there is also a separate shower-room with large walk-in shower. The lounge and dining rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a satellite TV system offering UK channels (inc. BBC1,ITV2,3,4, C5, etc.) The separate kitchen is very well equipped. In addition to all the usual crockery, utensils and cutlery, there is a dishwasher, ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine - and is air-conditioned! In fact the whole house (except bathrooms) is air-conditioned, and for extra comfort all rooms (except bathrooms) have ceiling fans, with those in the bedrooms being remote controlled. There are flyscreens and shutters fitted to all windows. The whole house has hot-air heating for the cooler winter months.
Outside there is a beautiful covered verandah which wraps around one side of the house, providing a shaded dining area and seating area. In addition to the verandah, there is a large pool terrace with another dining area and sun-loungers. There is outside lighting for the evenings, and in-pool lighting for night time swimming! The house, garden and pool are not at all overlooked and offer complete privacy.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The coastline of the Costa Calida runs for approximately 155 miles and is located entirely within the province of Murcia. This coast begins in the North with the beach of El Mojon, beside the border of the province of Alicante, and ends in the South with the beach of La Carolina in Aguilas, towards the border of the province of Almeria. The province of Murcia enjoys an average of 315 sunny days each year.
The Costa Calida runs along two different seas, namely the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. It has sparkling clear waters, luxuriously long and sandy beaches, and enchanting little bays. Mar Menor literally means 'small sea' and is the largest natural swimming pool in the World. All sorts of watersports are possible in this unique secluded inlet, which is also a diver's paradise.
The Costa Calida offers much more than sun, sea and beaches. The important cities of Murcia and Cartagena guard an intriguing mix of archeological treasures, modern architecture and fascinating artefacts. This part of Spain is also known for its colourful fiestas and markets as well as one of the best regional cuisines.
La Tercia area
Estrellitas is set in the Valle del Sol, also known as the 'garden of Europe'. It nestles amongst the orange and lemon groves. It is a beautifully peaceful and picturesque area.
The area is famed for its selection of golf courses. The nearest Golf Club is the newly opened Polaris World La Torre Golf Club (just 2 minutes by car). This is the newest golf course to be designed by Jack Nicklaus, and is endorsed by Sergio Garcia. La Torre is an 18-hole course combining all types of distances and hazards and is therefore suitable for beginners and experienced golfers. The next nearest, Mosa Golf Club, is just 5 minutes away (www.mosagolf.com). Other nearby courses include Hacienda del Alama, Club de Golf Torre-Pacheco, Club de golf Altorreal, Real Club de Golf Campoamor, La Manga Club, Campo de Golf Villamartin and Villamartin II.
In addition to golf, many other activities are available nearby, including boat charters, fishing trips, scuba-diving, windsurfing, water-skiing, sailing, therapeutic mud-baths & thermal springs, horseriding, nature reserves, aqua parks, theme parks and a safari park.
All the local towns and cities have weekly markets, and regular fiestas to enjoy. In addition to the cultural delights of Murcia and Cartagena, the lively holiday resorts of Torrevieja, Los Alcazares and La Manga are also easily reached for days or evenings out.
Within 2 minutes drive from the villa is the locally renowned Restaurant Valle del Sol which offers fantastic tapas in the bar, a great lunch-time buffet, and a smart a la carte restaurant for lunch or dinner. The restaurant also sells fresh bread in the mornings. There is also the local 'venta' bar just behind the restaurant, serving inexpensive lunches. The bar and restaurants of the La Torre Golf Resort are also just 2 minutes away (by car). In addition there are two more restaurants within walking distance of the villa. For a wider choice of restaurants any of the nearby coastal resorts should be visited, particularly if you like to eat fresh fish.
Estrellitas is also an ideal base for those wishing to enjoy the renowned San Javier Jazz Festival, just 15 minutes away by car. In 2008 it takes places from 28 June to 27th July dates vary each year). This year Herbie Hancock, Manhattan Transfer, Isaac Hayes, Tony Hadley and many, many more artists are holding concerts. How to get there
The nearest airport is Murcia Airport, which is just 15 minutes away by car. Alicante Airport is just one hour away by car. Car Hire is available from both of these airports, and is essential for your stay.

Further details indoors: YOUNG CHILDREN: There are contact alarms on the front door, patio doors and kitchen door which can be switched on in order to alert you to the fact that young children may be leaving the house. Baby equipment available: 2 x travel cots, baby bath, potty, highchair, travel highchair for use in restaurants, 2 toddler bedguards. From November to end of March there is a security cover over the pool, making the garden completely safe for young children.
