The site has its own tackle shop, and equipment is exceptionally well priced. Bait is also available, and the proprietors are extremely helpful. 6 Euros will pay for an excellent days fishing, guarantee a good catch, in fantastic surroundings.
Horse Riding is a great asset to our complex. Lessons are available in the ménage, followed by the small treks in to the woods.
For the more experienced rider ½ day treks, picnics, and treks through our stunning country side are all available. We will also soon be opening our own full livery, so if you wanted to bring your own horse then this will be possible.
The river is also a favourite with families, as canoeing, boating, and just messing about in the river can be very enjoyable.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Creuse region

Limousin lies roughly in the centre of France and has preserved much of its natural beauty, it is renowned for its great feudal fortresses, renaissance chateaux, medieval towns and villages.
Limoge is famous for its China and Pocelain, and is well worth a visit.
The village of Oradour-sur-Glane where the whole population were massacred by the Germans in June 1944 has been saved as a remembrance, and a new village built 2kms south. Well worth a visit, it is very moving.
Several large lakes are within an hours drive, and provide Canoeing,sailing,fishing,water-skiing etc.
The La Souterraine / St Priest la Feuille area
La Souterraine is a lively market town, and known as a pilgrims halt. Some parts of the medieval ramparts such as the massive portal of Saint-Jean still stand. The streets are lined with charming old houses, and the Church and the crypt should not be missed. Cobbled streets, and great cafes.
At Swiss Ocean in La Souterraine there is a great activities area for outdoor swimming in the Lake, excellent Tennis courts, a sandy beach, and areas for picnics, plus a restaurant (10 minutes from the accommodation)
Markets are held every Thursday and Saturday.
St Priest la Feuille only 5 minutes away has a local tabac for fresh bread, and has a excellent restaurant attached.

Such a tranquil setting. We have stayed at several places in the Limousin before, but this beats them all.

Your location is idealic for those of us who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world and have a totalling relaxing time whilst being able to 'put that book down' and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and local villages whether on foot, by car or even on horseback. The extent of the horse riding trek was a joy allowing our party to ride to their own level of expertise. We found the transport links exceptionally good and marvelled at the lack of congestion making the travelling a delight. We would recommend this holiday to only our closest friends as we would want to keep it for ourselves

09 Back Again, and the best weather yet,an excellent place to totally unwind,The wild life was in abundance, especially the Owls in the early evening.if you are into star gazing you won't find a better place, there is no light pollution, you won't believe whats up in the night sky, if you are into fishing there is The Gartempe that runs through the property, on this occacioson it was very low due to the dry spell, ideal for paddling, but the owner Peter, has found a fishing lake about 15min drive away which is stocked with Carp, about 10euros a day, well worth a visit, I caught 25 fish on one day alone. ,Hope to be back next year, this time with night vision bonoculars
