Sitting on the edge of the magnificent river Dordogne, the Auberge La Plume d'Oie offers 4 comfortable, well-appointed rooms (two with double bed, two with twin beds), bath and shower.

The auberge can be found in the village of Roque Gageac, classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The area is breathtakingly beautiful, with and abundance of wildlife and rare flora. It is not uncommon to spot a wild deer or heron while siting at breakfast in the restaurant .

The village itself is steeped in history and just a few kilometers from the famous chateaux of Castelnaud, Beynac and Marqueyssac. We are also only a short drive from the medieval town of Sarlat, famous for its magnificent architecture and cobbled streets that have hardly changed since medieval times.

The Dordogne, known as the land of 1000 chateaux, is a very special part of the world, we hope to see you soon.

"Beautiful setting, lovely room, wonderful food"

My room at Auberge La Plume d'Oie was right on the river Dordogne, overlooking a green and peaceful setting. I loved the warm decor and friendly service. The Auberge restaurant, under chef Marc Walker, is outstanding, sophisticated and regional at the same time. This was a return visit and I am already looking forward to coming again. I recommend this auberge, in this wonderful setting.

We chose this place because good friends recommended it. La Plume was better than our best expectations. The location is spectacular. The place is comfortable and cozy. The food, prepared by the owner/chef is beyond excellent. We had all our meals there. We felt like we are in our own home with our family rather than guest in a pension.

Can't wait to go back next year

"Spectacular setting"

We stayed at the auberge this year. The setting is absolutely spectacular, set in the rocks with views over the river, a really really special place. The auberge itself is very comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms have I think been recently renovated, as the bathrooms are now separate with standard doors, and not as described in previous reviews. Marc the owner made us feel so welcome. We ate in the restaurant on a number of occasions and each time the food was superb. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Plume d'Oie and will return on our next trip to France.
