200 year old Stonehouse (gite)

Home description

The house is 200 years old and has just been recently renovated with a lot of taste. We saw it and we decided immediately to buy it! It has a lovely living room with a kitchen corner, an open fireplace and a big and open mezzanine (balcony). There you will find 2 beds (2 pers. each). There is a 500 qm garden surrounded by a stonewall.

Nearby you will find the typical villages and all the sightseeing possibilities of the Perigord. Cycling, walking, horse-riding, swimming and golfing are all of an easy reach. There are a lot of nice restaurants around, proposing an authentic cuisine. For a relaxing stay in France!

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

You will find the house in the nice region of the green Perigord. It is a very green and beautiful area with a lot of rocks, forets, grottos, valleys, rivers and lakes. There are the typical frech markets everywhere. The middle-age town Brantome (partely built in rocks) is just 15 minutes by car. There are very old churches and castles all around. The black perigord (Sarlat, Grottes de Lascaux, Roques, stone age museums) is reachable in 1.5 hours by car. In a very short time you are in Angouleme, if you want to go to a bigger town. Why not taking a train to go for a daytrip to Bordeaux.......

Around Rochebeaucourt et Argentin you wil find nice restaurants with the authentic famous french kitchen. It is the area of ducks, froie gras and apple-cackes. Just behind the house is the beginning of the forest which invites you for long walks. There is a big supermarket in 10 minutes, a smaller one in just a couple of minutes. In 15min. drive you can rent canoes for a beautiful and peaceful ride of the river with stops and pic-nics where ever you want.....
