Magnificent 17Th century windmill set alone amongst the vineyards, yet only 3 mins drive from the nearest little town for conveniences. Delightfully romantic - ideal for honeymooners yet can accommodate a small family with 2 blow up mattresses available upon request.
The kidney-shaped pool has not only a jacuzzi but a 'swim against the wave' feature for your enjoyment. 4 floors of accommodation, separated by a stone spiral staircase that hugs the walls and trap doors to close if required. Bathroom is tiled in pink marble mosaics from the Maldives; kitchen hand made in oak; bedroom has en-suite sink set into the round wall; lounge has a very chic semi-circular white leather settee for your comfort.
The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
This is in the midst of the famous Bordeaux vineyards, with St Emilion located about 30mins away. Free wine tastings abound, and the area is typically French with the markets, restaurants, bars etc. In the high season, many attractions are laid on for holidaymakers - including a now world famous jazz festival around the beginning of July. The nearest beaches at Arcachon make a pleasant day trip, and boast the largest sand dunes in Europe
La Reole area
Half an hour away from the windmill is the picturesque Canal du Midi - beautiful & less well known to tourists. 15mins away you can visit a large museum which is highly rated by our guests - or go 18mins away and treat yourself to a flight in a small aircraft around the region (or parachute/microlight). Marmande - 25mins away - has a wealth of chic shops. The choice is yours!

Further details outdoors: Would appreciate it if smokers smoked outside, please; pets are more than welcome , but long haired pets who shed their coat may incur extra cleaning charges! Only small /larger children are suitable - not little toddlers - as the windmill is only dinky but we do have 2 blow-up mattresses for this purpose. The pool not only has a jacuzzi but a 'swim against the wave ' feature, too. Out-of-season, guests pay for their own services - altho' bedding & towels are still provided free
