Chalet Epicea is a stunning, traditional ski and summer chalet, located in La Plagne, French Alps. Arranged over 3 floors, this charming alpine chalet sleeps 13 in 6 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms; has a huge lounge and amazing log fireplace; wooden beams; balcony, terraces and garden, and comes with English TV on a 42" plasma HD TV, free wifi and Xbox360. And new for Winter 2011/12 - a new, luxury, 7-seater hot tub to relax in!
Chalet Epicea is managed by Alpine365, a ski and summer chalet holiday specialist. During the winter ski season, the chalet is fully catered with a professional chef & host who prepare & serve breakfast, afternoon tea and gourmet 4-course dinners with unlimited wine. Ski hire, lift passes and ski lessons are all organised prior to guests' arrival.
The chalet is located in the friendly resort of Les Coches in La Plagne and is in the heart of the Paradiski (La Plagne & Les Arcs) so guests have great access to 425kms of piste, 3 glaciers, 2 snowparks and plenty of off-piste.
In winter, intermediate skiers can ski or board right back to the chalet door, and in the warmer months, hike or bike out through the National Park on signed trails. And as well as views of Mont Blanc as a backdrop, if you’re lucky, you may even spot our resident fox, or perhaps some deer or wild boar.
Inside, there is a very spacious open-plan living/dining area with four comfy sofas, a well-stocked library, a rocking chair and a huge, thick, wooden, handcrafted dining table. Or you can relax in the luxury outdoor hot tub with a glass of bubbly from the honesty bar!
During the summer, the chalet is offered as self-catering or catered for a minimum of 6 people, and is the perfect base for mountain biking, walking & hiking, white water rafting and paragliding, as well as relaxing in the garden surrounded by the forest.

BEDROOMS
Chalet Epicea has six bedrooms arranged over three floors, accommodating up to thirteen people. All our bedrooms have been tastefully decorated with contemporary home furnishings to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable.
On the ground floor, there is a double ensuite shower room; a twin ensuite shower room, and an ensuite triple room.
On the first floor is a bright and airy double bedroom with ensuite, and its own access to a large terrace offering outside space to those brave enough to dare it in the height of winter!
The two bedrooms on the top floor (two twins) are partly set into the eaves. They share a large bathroom, so this is the ideal combination for a family. Wherever possible, we only ever rent these rooms out to a family or a group of four, so there's never any untoward bathroom sharing.

The beauty of Les Coches is that it is right in the heart of the 'Paradiski' - the linked ski resorts of Les Arcs & La Plagne, so visitors can enjoy 425kms of piste in a single lift pass. There are runs for every level as well as plenty of off-piste and snowshoe walking available, and with snowparks and glacier skiing to boot, it's a great ski area to explore.
Chalet Epicea is situated on the edge of the Vanoise National Park, so it's fabulous for summer activites too such as mountain biking, hiking, motorbiking and paragliding.
The La Plagne / Les Coches area
Chalet Epicea is based in the immense ski area of the Paradiski – the combined ski areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne. Whilst separate resorts in their own right, together they make up one of the largest lift-accessible ski resorts in the world, offering more than 425kms of marked runs.
Snow sure
Paradiski is a high resort – more than 70% of the ski area is above 2,000m. And there are two glaciers available to ski, one in Les Arcs, and one in La Plagne. Combine this with extensive snow making facilities on the slopes down to the resort village, and you really can be sure of the best snow conditions available at the time, whenever you choose to visit.
Les Coches, itself, is a modern but cute village with the look and feel of a tradtional farming village. It's a friendly place, with no traffic in the centre, and has all the amenities you would expect of a mountain village. Bars, restaurants, a crèche for the kids, plentiful ski shops, local gift shops, two ski schools, as well as an ice rink and a well stocked local supermarket. In addition, the village of Montchavin (a short, free shuttle-bus ride away), as well as offering extra choice in bars, restaurants and shops, also has a cinema.
Chalet Epicea is a 12minute walk away from the centre of town, or there is a a free shuttle bus that goes to Les Coches & Montchavin and back.

Train
One of the nicest methods of travel and the most eco-friendly! Eurostar (www.eurostar.com) and Rail Europe (www.raileurope.com) operate overnight trains from London Waterloo or Ashford in Kent to Bourg St Maurice, our nearest train station, a mere 10kms away. Some train services also stop at Laundry, which is a smaller station and even closer.
Flying
The nearest airports to our chalet are Chambery, Geneva, Lyon & Grenoble, with many low-cost airlines flying to them from key UK airports. Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomas Cook, Snowjet and Jet2 are just some of the airlines - have a look at the Getting Here page of our website for more detailed information.
Transfers
We work with a transfer company that will bring you direct from the airport to the chalet in their fleet of personal minibuses. Contact us for up to date prices. You can also hire a car from the airport - we've found that www.auto-europe.co.uk is normally quite competitive.
Driving
It's about a 10 hour drive from Calais, and we have parking spaces right outside the chalet. Don't forget to bring or hire some snow chains.

WINTER CATERED
The chalet is offered on a fully catered basis with a professional chef & host during the winter months. The prices shown are based on 13 people taking the whole chalet AND on a per person basis, as the chalet can be booked on a bed by bed basis. The prices for 13 people are based on an all adult group; if children under 16 are included, the price will be less - please enquire for a personalised quote. Children are approx 15% lower. Infants under 2yrs are charged at £50p. Single supplements may apply.
