***TRIP ADVISER RECOMMEND *** Luxury apartment - 2 minute walk from main lifts. Sleeps 6 adults and consists of an open plan dining / living room and kitchen area, two bedrooms (one en suite) bathroom and separate wc. Furnished and equiped to a high standard. A full width balcony offers fantastic views across to Les Arcs and Mont Blanc . The apartment has its own ski locker and parking space. There is also a superb indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. A reception lounge with comfortable seating and an open fire is available for your use.
Just a 2 minute walk from the apartment is the town centre where you will find restaurants, bars, supermarket and the main ski lifts. Also around the town square you will find Ski hire shops (Intersport will give 20% discount and can be pre booked on line) pizza delivery, bakery, butchers and gift shops. Ski school is just on the edge of the lift area (250m) for those who might like to take advantage of a lesson or private guide around the mountains.

The apartment is equipped to a high standard. The lounge has two comfortable 3 seater sofas which convert into either 2 single beds or one double, there is plenty of space to relax and watch tv/dvds or you can listen to music on the i-pod station. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, hob, combi oven and dishwasher.
There is one double bedroom with shower & wc en suite and one spacious double bunk room. There is a second bathroom with shower and separate toilet. A full length balcony offers outstanding views across the valley to Les Arcs and to Mont Blanc in the distance.

The aparment block offers a relaxing reception area, where you can meet up with friends for a coffee or a glass of wine and have a chat next to the log fire, whilst the kids are swimming in the pool or you can make use of the sauna and jacuzzi after a long day on the slopes .

The Rhone / French Alps / Savoie region
Les Coches is a charming traditional village, right bang in the centre of the Paradski, claimed to be the the world's largest linked ski area. Les Coches provides direct access to both the La Plagne and Les Arc ski areas via the Vanoise Express. Here you will find a wide range of terrain offering both high 'snow sure' slopes to ski and lower tree lined skiing. The whole region (les arc, les plagne and les coches) benefit from extensive snow making equipment therefore guaranteeing excellent piste conditions throughtout the whole ski season.
All abilities are catered for with easy blues, many reds for intermediates and challenging blacks for the more adventurous, making this an ideal resort for all abilities. The range of terrain makes it especially great for families.
There are two ski schools available, ESF provide a full range of lessons and guides as well as Evolution 2 providing a smaller and slightly more intimate service. There are also creche facilities for children of six months upwards (web links)
The La Plagne / Les Coches area
The resort of Les Coches is ideal for those who enjoy a traditional setting. It is a charming, compact and friendly village, surrounded by trees and built in the Savoyard style with wood and stone. There is a pretty and atmospheric village square in the centre of the village, only 2-3 minutes walk from the apartment.
Les Coches has a number of bars and restaurants - "The Last Pub" is a regular stopover on the way back from the slopes. There are several restaurant choices, ranging from traditional savoyarde fayre to pizzerias and even a lovely fine restaurant just above the village.

By Air: There is a choice of airports, many of which operate budget airlines.
Geveva - Transfer tme 2 hrs 15 mins (Easyjet, Jet2 and British Airways)
Grenoble - Transfer 2 hrs 30 mins (Ryanair and BA)
Lyon - Transfer 2 hrs 25mins (Easyjet, BMI, ThomsonFly, British Airways)
Chambery - Transfer 1hr 30 mins (Flybe).
Easy transfers from airport: Several bus companies run a transfer package including: alp-line.com,satobus.com, the coolbus.co.uk, skihoppa.com and alpinecab.com. You can, of course, hire your own transport car/minibus at the airport - suggest you pre-book to speed up your journey.
By rail: From St Pancras International/Ashford both direct to the Alps (Bourg St Maurice) with just a short taxi journey to the apartment.
By car: It can be cost effective to drive if you are going in small groups, this not only spreads the cost, but the driving too! Les Coches is about 630 miles from Calais (9-10 hours driving time) the journey is 95% easy motorway driving. You can get across the channel by Eurotunnel, Speed Ferries, P&O or Sea France.

This has to be the most relaxing ski holiday with our kids (11 and 13) that we've had.
Everything you need is within a 2 mins walk from the apartment (including ski lift so no moans about walking in ski boots or carrying skis from our children) and boulangerie, washing machine, wifi, pool, sauna and jacuzzi all within apartment block. Pizza delivery and homemade ready meals from local deli if you don't fancy cooking. Very comfy sofas and well kitted out apartment.
And most importantly great snow with loads and loads of slopes to access so a new place to visit everyday.
Will definitely go back!

A fantastic apartment in a brilliant location, we stayed for a week in Feb 2013 and had a fantastic weeks skiing, its only a short walk to the ski lifts and town, the apartment is very well appointed and roomy, the lifts make it very easy to load and unload and the views from the balcony are incredible.
The chalet de Wengens is probably the nicest block in the village, equipped with a small pool and spa, pool table and a very helpful reception staff.There are plenty of ski rental shops etc but as we took our own I cant comment on how prices compare.
The skiing in the area catered for everyone from a first timer to seasoned skiers and covers such a vast area you cant do it all in a week.
