"Highly Recommended - From experienced skiers with a young family"
A fantastic property, well located for the ski area. The property is well furnished, and spacious with a really premium feel, and a great view. Significantly more space than a hotel, or chalet for a family of 4, and up to 8 people would be more than comfortable. Set in a peaceful location, the access to Les Coches is excellent. The walk to the ski area is 5 minutes with a fantastic kids club, and daycare centre for infants. Refreshingly the main vanoise link to Les Arc is only 1 lift, and 1 ski run away, and in the other direction the main la plagne area only a a few lifts away making Les Coches perfectly centred for exploring paradiski. We actually hired an alpine nanny during the day who looked after the children in the apartment from 9-6 which worked out to be very cost effective shared with another family with a 2 year old. Amenities such house bakery, and swimming pool are available in the main complex. We have visited the alps many times as a couple, and with family and were immensely impressed with the accommodation standard. The property is privately owned, and cleaned for you on departure which is a huge plus. The owners are very genuine, and communicate well giving emergency phone numbers, and offering small things such as a welcome bottle of wine were appreciated. Genuinely exceptional!
Many thanks for your comments. Not having children ourselves, it is so easy to understate the local facilities that are available for families with young children. I will be sure to update our advertising to promote these features.

"A great chalet ideally located"
The chalet was in a great location in Les Coches. The village itself is small but there is everything you need - butcher, Spar, bakery, and a vert nice apres ski bar! There is a short walk to the nearest ski lift but once on it you have access to a huge resort. We prefer Les Coches to the bigger resorts in la Plagne as it has that nice village feel. The chalet itself was great. Possibly a little small for 8 but other than that it had everything you would need and more. We have stayed in the complex before and booked through a travel company so knew what to expect but with this one you have free access to the spa and a proper oven in the kitchen which is great if you plan to cook. The owners were very helpful throughout and the check in - out was very simple. Nice to be trusted rather than getting every piece of cutlery and crockery checked (which is the usual check out procedure fot the complex). We hope to go back next year. La plagne is a great ski srea but you can get a lift pass for Les Arcs too which we did as if you plan to ski a lot it is well worth it!

"Great apartment, superb views"
Extremely clean and well appointed 3 bedroomed duplex. Modern, tasteful decor. Good quality furnishing and fittings. Compact kitchen but well equipped with full sized oven and dishwasher. Good quality crockery, glasses and dishes. Extra touches such as Welcome Pack with wine, tea coffee and biscuits. Lovely bathroom soaps! Plenty of DVD's for relaxing after skiing. Located only a short walk from the lifts (the ski shop even held onto the boots and skis at night so no carting ski gear around!). Lovely views from lounge area and main bedroom.
Les Coches Village Spar very expensive, so shop in supermarket or take food if driving!

"Beautifully presented chalet, bit of a squeeze for 8 but still fab; would definitely recommend it."
The chalet is modern and tastefully decorated, and is a short walk from the ski hire, shops, ski-schools and most importantly the lifts up to the slopes. We love La Plagne for its skiing and have stayed in Les Coches before in a far less salubrious chalet; the company makes the trip of course, but nice surroundings make it that much more relaxed.
The kitchen has full size oven, dishwasher and fridge which had heavy use from us (we were 5 adults with 2 teenagers and a 6 year old) and we managed fine, although there isn't a great deal of cupboard space; we had to use the ski cave and balcony as additional space for chilled goods, and the space under the stairs was filled with more food - however we did bring a lot of food with us. An extractor hood would be a great investment!
The underground parking was great, although not essential. We had 3 cars and 2 were parked on the road all week with no problems.
The pool and sauna facilities came in handy on a white-out day.
My only minor criticism is that it is tight for 8 unless there are more young children and less adults. The bunk room is very small with no room to open the window and certainly no storage space for our 2 teenagers. We worked around it, changing sleeping arrangements around until we were all happy, but some families/friends may not be so accommodating.
I'd definitely go back there though with a smaller party.

"A lovely, clean chalet in a beautiful village"
I have already recommended this chalet to friends. Les Coches is a pretty French alpine village near Bourg Saint Maurice. It is a popular winter destination and is part of the the Paradiski range of mountains. However, we went there in the Summer with our three sons (15, 8 and 6). The village itself is lovely with a few shops and restaurants as well as some entertainment for the children. The major activity was downhill mountain biking which is fully accessible from Les Coches. In addition there were a number of additional activities in and around the village for the non bikers. The chalet itself is part of a managed complex and as such we were able to use the complex facilities which included a small swimming pool and spa area as well as the pool table and internet facilities within the reception area. As for the accommodation itself, I thought that Les Chalets de Wengen was first class. It had all mod cons (being newly built) and was beautifully presented. (Particularly bearing in mind the fact that we couldn't even have rented a static caravan in the UK for the price that we paid for the chalet.) I was particularly impressed with the double bed - a good solid king sized bed (just as good as home). There was a small balcony but, unfortunately, it remained in the shade despite the good weather, however, if it was sunshine you were after you could always l use the balcony next to the swimming pool and relax on the sun loungers provided there. We also had exclusive use of a parking space within the underground car park within the chalet complex which was very useful. There were also plenty of extreme sports available, in addition to the mountain biking. At the bottom of the mountain in the H2O water sports centre and in Bourg Saint Maurice there is a national canoe centre - plenty of stuff for adrenalin junkies. We thought this was a great chalet in a beautiful location with plenty of activities for all the family.
