Les Chalet de Montalbert consists of three modern apartment blocks constructed in an attractive traditional Alpine Chalet style. Our apartment is a top floor duplex apartment with spectacular views from both balconies to the valley below, and Mont Blanc in the distance. In addition to the apartment, you will also have use of our private underground garage with direct lift access to the apartments. A ski locker is available for secure ski storage during your stay. The rear of the chalet has direct access to the nursery slopes with a free to use ski lift on the nursery slope and as such is ski out / ski in. The front of the chalet is adjacent to the road, providing convenient access. Local amenities such as a cash point, ski and boot hire, sport shops, supermarket, delicatessens, boulangerie, restaurants, pubs, and a night club are all within easy walking distance of the apartment.
The apartment ideally accommodate 6 guests, sleeping in three bedrooms on the upper floor. In exceptional circumstances we may consider a maximum of 8 guests (see notes below). The apartment benefits from under-floor heating which is centrally regulated on a chalet wide basis. In addition, as a top floor apartment tends to remain warm throughout the season.The apartment is well equipped and when not skiing in the winter or indulging in the array of outdoor activities in the summer, you can be entertained in the apartment with Wi-Fi internet access, along with UK Satellite HD-TV, a DVD/Sony Play Station 2, Hi-Fi system, good selection of books, DVD films, music CD’s, play station, and board games. For those who prefer eating-in, there is a good range of kitchen utensils, crockery, pots, pans and equipment. The apartment has a toilet and shower room on the lower floor and a family bathroom with bath / shower and toilet on the upper floor. The Master bedroom has a double bed and opens out onto a North facing balcony with spectacular views down the valley. The second bedroom has a double bed with Velux window to ceiling. The third bedroom has two single beds with Velux window to ceiling. The lounge / dinning area on the lower floor opens out onto a large balcony with patio table and chairs. There is a large extending dinning table, with two comfortable sofas in the lounge area. Ample storage space is available throughout the apartment.
Unfortunately we do not cater for pets and the apartment has a strictly enforced no smoking policy which extends to the balcony areas – if you smoke this apartment is not a good choice for you.
Waste recycling is encouraged and a recycling point is located opposite the Chalets on the road side.

• The apartment ideally accommodates 6 guests in three bedrooms. There are however two double sofa beds in the
lounge and under exceptional circumstances we would consider a MAXIMUM of 8 Guests. This arrangement
however does compromise guest privacy and access to facilities in the lounge. Under these circumstances an additional charge may need to be levied, this will be discussed at the time of booking.
• IMPORTANT: Parents of toddles should note that we have a steep spiral stair case. Stair gates are not currently
available at the property and we do not have electrical socket protectors, or child proof cupboard or drawer locks. We do however provide a Mothercare fold-away travel cot and a fold-away portable high chair which attaches to a conventional chair and can be taken out to restauraunts etc if required.
• This Apartment has a Strictly enforced NO SMOKING police both inside and outside. It is therefore not suitable for

Secure parking in a private underground car park is accessed via an electrically operated up and over garage door which is operated using a key fob provided with your keys. There is a height restriction of 2m. A four wheel drive vehicle with a roof box fitted is unlikely to gain access. Overflow parking is available on the road side or large public car park situated approximately 50m from the chalets. Guests are asked NOT to park in the open air car park above the underground parking area or the parking area adjacent to Chalet B and C. These parking areas are reserved for other apartments.

The Rhone/French Alps region
Plagne Montalbert is situated in the Savoie Region of France forming a part of the larger Rhône-Alps Region. As you would expect the region is mountainous with spectacularly majestic mountain ranges or massifs. In the winter the higher reaches are transformed into a white wonderland. With many snow-sure resorts to chose from. Montalbert as part of the Paridiski area has a long winter ski season spanning approx seventeen weeks. Cold winters give way to hot summers and provide an opportunity to explore this historic region. The world renowned Beaufort cheese with its winter and summer varieties is produced locally. Wine is produced locally in many locations and should be sampled during your stay. Annecy with its spectacular lake is within driving distance as is Chamonix-Mont Blanc. In the Autumn one of the most spectacular drives is from Bourg-Saint-Maurice over the little St Bernard Pass down into Italy and back through the famous Mont Blanc tunnel to Chamonix.
Montalbert nestles on the mountain side high above Aime in the valley below. It is primarily a winter sport and ski resort with a relatively long season from mid December to the mid/end of April. During the summer it is an ideal location for outdoor pursuit and activity holidays. Out of season the previously snow covered meadows erupt with colour and diversity from a fantastic array of alpine spring flowers. During September and October, Montalbert and the surrounding area are transformed from the lush greens of summer to the mellow yellow, gold and reds of autumn.
Winter in Montalbert / La Plagne (2012-13 Ski season 22/12/12 to 20/04/13)
Montalbert is one of four village resorts which along with the six altitude resorts make up the La Plagne ski domain. The Paradiski area was formed in 2003 when La Plagne and Les Arcs were linked by the Vanoise Express, a double decker cable car which carries up to 200 skiers per car. This provides access to two glacier peaks over 3000m making it one of the largest ski domains in the world! In addition to a vast range of on and off piste skiing there are also 2 half pipes and 4 snow parks, along with 232 prepared pistes extending to 450km. Montalbert is a small friendly village offering superb tree lined runs which snake back from the upper reaches of the domain, through pine forests down to the village. It is well equipped with snow canons ensuring good snow cover to the end of the season even in the poorest winters. Montalbert has its own ECF ski school with excellent facilities for both adults and children along with a nursery for toddlers between the ages of 18 months and 6 years. Other activities include Dog Sleighs, Husky dog walks, Snowshoe Walking, Cross Country Skiing, etc.
Summer in Montalbert / La Plagne
Montalbert is an ideal summer location for the activity holiday enthusiast. Numerous outdoor pursuits are available in breathtaking surroundings. For the water sports enthusiasts white-water-rafting, canoeing, Hydrospeed, Canoe-raft, airboat, and swimming are available in the valley. For the more aeronautically minded paragliding is available from numerous locations throughout the La Plagne area and the neighboring resort of Les Arcs. For those who prefer to have two feet on the ground, hill walking, rambling, trail walking, and an adventure assault course are available. If speed is your forte, mountain biking and quad biking is available. For those mountain lovers rock climbing, abseiling, and caneoning is available. For diehard skiers summer skiing on the Glacier at Tignes is available which is less than a 50 minute drive away. Other less demanding activities include archery, pony tracking, trampolining etc. and of course relaxation.
Out of Season in Montalbert / la Plagne
Outside the hustle and bustle of the busy winter ski season and the more relaxed summer season, Montalbert is a delightful mountain retreat. Its an ideal location for nature lovers, and those seeking adventure holidays during the less busy periods. Franceraft based in the village of Centron provide an array of activities from May through to September. Very limited services are available in Montalbert outside the winter and summer season but the town of Aime in the valley below has a full range of services all year round and is approximately 15 minutes away by car

"Great apartment in a lovely village"
The apartment is situated on the nursery slope in Montalbert which is brilliant for access to/from the mountain and is a short walk in to town. The apartment is without a doubt the best equipped apartment I have stayed in with everything you could want in the kitchen. It has a lovely homely feel and truly was a great place to come back to after a long days skiing.
The town of Montalbert is a traditional French village with some very nice savoyarde restaurants and delicatessens. It is much more reasonably priced than most other French resorts that I have frequented. The town has a relaxed and friendly vibe and I would certainly go back. Despite being a low village, the snow was good and the surrounding slopes offer good tree skiing.
