Lavender Lodge, the largest of our 4 gîtes and sleeping up to 6 people, gives uninterrupted views of open countryside where you can watch the horses in the neighbouring field and enjoy incredible sunsets.

The spacious lounge/dining area has 2 sets of patio doors opening on to a large terrace. It has comfortable leather sofas, a large wood burner and 40” flat screen TV with Freesat giving access to all UK channels. Wi-Fi included There is a selection of books and DVDs and children's toys at the gîte which you are welcome to use. The fitted kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, range cooker, microwave, and large fridge/freezer. Washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the Utility Room. The bathroom has a corner bath, double sinks and a separate shower. The master bedroom at Lavender Lodge has French doors giving views over the garden and the countryside to the rear, bedroom 2 is a twin bedded room and there is also a bedroom with bunk beds. The terrace is the ideal place for eating and relaxing and especially enjoying an evening drink watching the sun go down.

Location: Situated in peaceful countryside location by sunflower fields and vineyards between the villages of Etaules and Les Mathes. Lavender Lodge is a five minute drive from the resort of La Palmyre (marina, beaches, and zoo) or you can cycle from the gîte on tracks through the marshes and forest to the stunning, unspoilt sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast backed by dunes, forests & dedicated cycle/footpaths. Excellent local shops, markets & restaurants. Seafood is a great speciality here. It's a wonderful place just to completely relax, explore, or take advantage of the many activities offered locally including cycling, walking, horse riding, water sports, quad biking or climbing through the trees and flying along zip wires in the Indian Forest.

Close to La Tremblade (oyster bed tours), Mornac sur Seudre, St Palais-sur-Mer, Royan, Ile de Oleron. Within 1 hour of historic towns of Saintes, Cognac, La Rochelle & Ile de Ré.

Golf: 9 hole golf course La Palmyre 3 miles or 18 hole golf course at Saint Palais 5 miles. Both open to public.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Mark (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
