The apartment itself has two bedrooms(one with double bed and one with two single beds), two recently tiled bathrooms (one with a shower, the other with a bath) and a good sized kitchen with Fridge Freezer, oven, microwave and washing machine. The Valenciana region
Just a Wonderful, Surprising Gem, a visit to this area is so special.
Beautiful sun, sea and sand, Plenty of good quality, reasonable restraunts on the sea front.
Lovely coastal walk along the boardwalk or beach in both directions.
Very good Market at the side of our block, selling good quality fresh fruit and vegetables and clothing every Wednesday.
There is a bus into the main port town of Torevieja every 30 minutes.
In October there is a procession from the church in the main square and a festival.
La Mata is a typically Spanish small town, many of the inhabitants are expat. Europeans. It is an unspoilt Spanish Charm.
La Mata, Torrevieja
Las Salinas is the Salt Lakes with flamingos, and an assortment of wading birds to be seen. Salt has been mined from these salt lakes for centuries.
5 kilometers North East of Torevieja along the Coasta Blanca.
There is a 'National Park' which boasts an abundance of wildlife.

"The most relaxed holiday .........."
The apartment was spacious and spotless. We loved the fact that it was on two floors (plus roof terrace) The wi-fi was extremly useful for us and although there was sateliite TV we did not make use of this. There was plenty of clean linen and a washing maching. We were very glad of the air conditioning as it was very hot whilst we were there. The only negative comment we have was that there were only three not so good tea towels and plates etc for four - a few spares would have been good as we were constantly washing up. One thing to be aware of is there is a lot of stairs - up to the apartment and then to all three floors. Lat Mata is a lovely spanish resort - dont expect much english spoken - that didnt bother us. The food - whether in the local supermarket or in restuarants was excellent and reaonably priced. If you only order a drink free tapas was always brough to the table. Would we go again??? Yes definitely.
Thank-you so much for taking the time to post this review, we do value all comments made by our guests, and do our best to rectify any shortcomings that are pointed out. Once again thanks a lot, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

"Lovely Place to enjoy a Relaxing Holiday"
This was our first time visiting La Mata and we were not disappointed. The apartment was well equipped with fabulous roof terrace and a lovely balcony. The location was great as it was a very short stroll to a beautiful beach and short walking distance to the village plaza, supermarket and restaurants. Our transfer to and from the airport was kindly arranged and the neighbour was very helpful to answer any questions we had whilst there. We feel that this was not our last time visiting La Mata and would definitely recommend this place to others who seek a relaxing holiday.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to give this review, we look forward to welcoming you back next time.

"Great place to stay"
We can only agree with everything the previous reviewer has written. La Mata is a lovely small town with a peaceful atmosphere, wonderful beach and many delightful walks. Mary's apartment is clean, well furnished and a very comfortable place to stay. The beach, restaurants and shops are conveniently close by. Mary arranged our transfer from the airport with Nigel her English neighbour who turned out to be very helpful about buses, car hire etc. Highly recommended and we hope to return next year. "Fantastic, just as described"
La Mata is the quintessential Spanish holiday resort so life moves at a slow pace. First impressions of the apartment complex were fantastic. There is a lovely garden with a water feature running the full length of the courtyard and a small communal pool. Marble statues are scattered intermittently giving a lovely Roman theme. The apartment is fabulous. It has a spacious balcony, downstairs shower room/toilet, nice sitting area with sofas and a well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer/washing machine which were Godsends. As well as the aircon! The double bedroom we used was great. All ready to use with freshly laundered bedding. A good size, we never once felt we were getting in each other’s way. The bathroom was really well presented. The twin room was just as nice but just used for suitcases on this occasion. The top floor is a roof terrace with a BBQ. Great on breezy days but did get quite warm on the still days which is when we used the beach. The balcony terrace was really nice. We had breakfast here most mornings under the sun awning. Bliss. We never used the pool but from walking past it, it looked well kept and clean. It was used mainly on a weekend by the Spanish visitors. La Mata has a genuine boardwalk which runs SW down the Costa Blanca coastline into Torrevieja itself. Lined with restaurants, snack bars and gift shops it’s a lovely walk. The beaches are beautiful. As you look at the Med from the apartment, the beach to the left is used by the locals and our own preference. The beach to the right is more commercial but still gorgeous and plenty of room still. We had a lovely breakfast in Jandels. The Beach Bar is great for snacks and really friendly staff to boot. The China City Restaurant was fantastic too. Beware that siesta actually exists here so don’t get caught out. Between 3pm and 5:30pm every shop shuts on the dot. Claudio Y Vicente nearby does a great gents haircut. Recommended by Nigel, our English neighbour who is the font of all things Spanish and a lovely bloke. The Street Market was on the Wednesday and well worth a visit. There’s a main Supermarket near the Square with everything you’ll need. The cash point is also here in the bank opposite the Pharmacy. All in all, we a fantastic holiday, thanks for the excellent communications from Mary and we both agree we would mark the whole stay 10 out of 10. The weather was faultless throughout. We will definitely be booking again. We love it. Thank you so much.
Thanks a lot, so pleased you enjoyed our apartment, look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Sincerely Mary.
