Villa Las Meninas is a new detached villa in a quiet & peaceful location. The villa has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & sleeps up to 6 people. We have tried to make the villa into a home from home & as such it is furnished to a very high standard & equipped with all the home comforts you would expect.
The Villa has plenty of outdoor space, including private front & back gardens, front & back balconies & large roof terrace with stunning views of the El Hondo Nature Reseve & Crevillente mountain range beyond. There is also a large, gated communal pool, which is ideal to keep the kids occupied during the hot summer days. The main commercial centre is within walking distance - this includes a large supermarket, Tourist Info Centre, banks, shops, bars & restaurants.
For golf lovers La Marquesa is 5 minutes drive away, La Finca (Algorfa) is 15 mins and Las Ramblas, Royal Compomar, La Finca (Villa Martin) are all within a 30 minute journey.

The Villa ground floor comprises of a spacious lounge and dining area with open plan marble staircase leading upstairs. In the lounge you will fiind 2 three seater sofas, 32" Plasma TV & DVD Player with Satellite TV & a wide selection of DVDs (including a range of children's titles). There is also a spacious dining area with large dining table with seating for 6.
A small hallway leads to a fully fitted, well equipped modern kitchen with everything you need.
There is also a double bedroom containing a double bed, large chest of drawers, mirror & a bookcase with a large variety of books for your enjoyment. Finally there is a fully tiled shower room complete with WC, sink & shower enclosure.
On the first floor you will find the master bedroom, with double bed, 2 bedside cabinets with drawers, large chest of drawers and fitted mirrored wardrobes. Patio doors lead onto a large tiled terrace with patio furniture. There is also another double bedroom, with double bed, bedside cabinet with 2 drawers & large fitted wardrobes. This bedroom also has patio doors and its own large, tiled private terrace with patio furniture.
Upstairs also has a modern fully tiled bathroom, with sink, vanity unit , bath, shower & bidet.
A further marbled staircase from the 1st floor leads to a large rooftop terrace with panoramic views where you will 2 sun loungers, small side table & 4 chairs. At the rear of the terrace you will find the washing machine & plenty of drying area.

The Villa has plenty of outdoor space, including:
- Ample parking directly in front of the villa.
- Front & back gardens which are walled with wrought iron fencing to enable small children to play outside safely (with table, parasol & 6 chairs)
- Front & back large tiled balconies off upstairs bedrooms (each with own patio furniture)
- Large roof terrace with stunning views of the El Hondo Nature Reseve & Crevillente mountain range beyond (with sun loungers & chairs for sun bathing)
- Large, gated communal pool, which is ideal to keep the kids occupied during the hot summer days (we have lightweight fold away sun loungers to take to the pool or beach with you)
- Washing machine & drying area (rear of the roof terrace)
Conditions
- Strictly no smoking inside the villa
- Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required, to be refunded within 7 days of you returning the keys(subject to satisfactory property inspection)
- 25% of rental fee required to secure the booking
- Balance of rental fee + £100 deposit due four weeks before your departure
- 50 euros cleaning/changeover fee to be paid locally (not included in rental cost)
The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The town of La Marina is conveniently situated an easy 20 minute drive South of Alicante airport ,or 45 mins North of Murcia airport. The area is surrounded by picturesque countryside, palm groves & mountains on one side with the beautiful Mediterranean Sea on the other.
The Mediterranean Coast in this area boasts miles & miles of unspoilt sandy beaches, which have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award in recent years. The nearest of these beaches is just a five minute drive from the villa and is backed by miles of protected sand dunes and pine forests - a perfect place to explore.
The cosmopolitan city of Alicante is well worth a visit & is just 20 minutes away from the villa, with an array of shops, bars & restaurants as well as a large Marina.
For a view of historical Spain, there are a host of local towns within a 10 minute drive, including Dolores, Almoradi, Guardamar del Segura, Santa Pola & San Fulgencio. Elche with it’s thousands of Palm Trees & the lively resort of Torrevieja are just 20 mins drive away. For the more adventurous, Terra Mitica & Terra Natura theme parks near Benidorm are a 45 minute drive.
For Golf lovers there is an array of courses in the area, from Las Marquesa in Rojales which is five minutes away to La Finca which is 15 minutes away and Villa Martin, Royal Compomar and Las Ramblas which are all within 30 minutes.
The La Marina area
The Villa is in a quiet location with little through traffic, but it is close to all ameneties.
At the local commercial area (which is 15 mins walk or less than 5 mins drive away) you will find a Tourist Information Centre, a kiosk selling international newspapers etc, a large super market, numerous banks, English butcher, Italian restaurant, Chinese restaurant, Steak House, Nightclub, numerous bars (most serving food), DIY Shop, numerous Café’s and Police Station. Everything you need is in the immediate area – if your preference is not to drive.
A little further afield (but still within La Marina) there is another main commercial area containing lots of bars & restaurants as well as the La Marina Sports Complex which has a large swimming pool with sun loungers and slides for the kids, snooker/pool tables, bowling green, mini trampolines and mini golf.
A car is not necessary but is highly recommended for the easy journey from Alicante or Murcia airports, as well as to explore the surrounding areas during your stay. There is so much to see outside of La Marina!
La Marina has it’s own beach, which is a direct 5 minute drive from the villa. The combination of sun, sea & sand is beautiful & you can park right next to the beach – to make your trip even more relaxing. There are sun beds/parasols to hire and there is also a restaurant and a number of beach bars dotted along the sand. Next to the beach you can gain access to the La Marina Campsite which is open to non-residents & has a great outdoor fun pool & a host of children's activities, restaurants and bars.

- You can fly to either Alicante or Murcia airport - the villa is 24kms(20mins) from Alicante & 60kms(40mins) from Murcia.
- Ryanair, Easyjet, BMI Baby, Monarch, Jet2 & ThomsonFly all fly to & from both airports & have some really great deals.
- Local taxis are available directly outside both airports and transfers cost approx 40 euros from Alicante and 55 euros from Murcia.
- Car hire is recommended & readily available. We use Record Rent-a-Car every time we go to the villa - they provide great value vehicles & pick up/drop off at both airports. We book online before leaving UK & car is ready when we arrive.

Beautiful Villa with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The pool around the corner was excellent and most days we had it to ourselves. I would not hesitate in booking this Villa for a future holiday. I would recommned hiring a car form the airport as car rental is limited in the immediate area. |

We stayed here as a family with 3 children and I couldn't have chosen any better. Spotlessly clean - and I'm very particular when in self catering accom and tastefully decorated. It had absolutely everything required both in the kitchen and rooms right down to DVD's for the kids and adults for chilling out & English TV & ipod dock, which my son had insisted it wouldn't have. I would recommend a hire car to enable you get about. We hired one which we picked up from the airport and the 20-25min drive is quite straightforward to La Marina, although slightly more difficult finding the correct street once in the area as it has lots of one-way roads. There are several towns to visit all within a 10-15min drive in each direction. We also took the kids to the large waterpark in Benidorm which was just over 1hrs drive and very easy to find. And the kids loved it. Beware though,it is expensive to buy the tickets at the gate but we bought them from the local travel agent in La Marina before we left and got 10euro and 8euro discount off the price of each ticket. The local town is a short walk away which is quite taxing in the blistering heat (38 degrees) but does have all the shops/restaurants/bars you would need. Local taxis are readily available and there are many sightseeing bus trips which can be booked if you don't have a car. The private pool just around the corner was lovely which we used daily, and we had it most of the time to ourselves. The rooftop terrace has table/chairs/loungers to sit out and is quite private and around the other side is the washing machine which really was handy with 3 kids and meant I didn't have to take 2wks worth of clothes with us. The owner is extremely helpful and readily accommodated us with flight times and posted helpful directions from the airport. We wouldn't hesitate to use the villa again. |
