This spacious and cosy two-bedroom apartment is within the small urbanisation of 'Residencial El Pinet La Marina', which is one of the most sought after locations on the Costa Blanca.

The apartment is fully furnished and caters for all ages, including a travel cot for very young children. It is flanked by the Mediterranean Sea and Santa Pola Nature Reserve. We hope that you will feel at home in this very comfortable modern and homely apartment, which we have equipped fully so that you only need to bring clothes and toiletries.

The lounge is air conditioned, and each bedroom and the lounge have individual ceiling fans, as well as portable radiators for the winter months. As well as English and Spanish digital TV, a DVD player and radio/CD player are provided. WiFi is also available (NB: There is a small charge for this facility). The family bathroom has a spacious shower and a bidet, and the kitchen is modern and fully equipped.

The Costa Blanca/Valencia region

The region is awash with natural beauty, including its golden Mediterranean coast, mountains and rolling citrus groves, and with two notable salt lakes that shape the ecosystem: Santa Pola - adjacent to El Pinet, is a nature reserve full of migratory birds and flamingos; and the Mar Menor salt lake, near Murcia, is the largest in Europe. With its fertile lowlands, wealth of vegetable produce and abundant citrus groves, the region is often referred to as the “Market Garden of Europe” and the “Gastronomic Centre of Spain”.

The Costa Blanca enjoys one of the best climates in Europe. November through February is the mildest period, and the spring and summer seasons are long: warming speedily in March, peaking during August-September, and cooling down during October and November. As a by-product of its environment, the southern Costas have been described by the World Health Organization as one of the healthiest environments in which to live, or visit, in Europe.

The coast’s beauty is outstanding, boasting unspoilt beaches protected by pine forest parkland and subtropical citrus groves. Many of the numerous white sandy beaches, such as La Marina, have been awarded the EEC Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety, as have the Alicante and Santa Pola marinas. Bustling fishing villages, spectacular haciendas, numerous marinas and an excellent selection of championship golf courses dot the coastal landscape.

As well as the natural splendour, historical and cultural excursions, the area offers a significant range of activities to suit every appetite, such as: horse riding, golf on numerous championship courses, bowls, freshwater, coastal and sea fishing, scuba diving, water parks, other theme parks, go-karting, sailing, nature reserves, and shopping in any of the many colourful markets and bustling municipal centres. All of this is within a 30 minute drive of El Pinet, and other memorable day trips can be enjoyed slightly further afield, at great cities such as Murcia and Benidorm on the coast, and the numerous rustic towns and villages inland.

La Marina

El Pinet beach sits at the foot of ‘Residencial El Pinet’ – within a short walk. The beach is reached by passing the southern edge of the Santa Pola Nature Reserve and provides magnificent sea views beyond the salt lagoons. Most amenities are provided in the nearby traditional Spanish village of La Marina, which has a selection of bars, shops and restaurants, pharmacy, news agents and banks. The village also has a tourist information office, health centre, post room, internet café, cycle hire shop, and travel agents where daily sightseeing trips can be booked.

Just beyond La Marina village is ‘La Marina Urbanization’, which is a 5-minute drive from Residencial El Pinet. La Marina Urbanization provides additional amenities and holds markets on Thursdays and Sundays. There is a market every day somewhere in the area, offering an experience and potential bargains - such as the Santa Pola market which, for example, offers quality leather shoes at a fraction of the sterling price.

Just a few kilometres off the Costa Blanca mainland, near Santa Pola, lays the small and tranquil island of Tabarca. The island is little more than a mile long, 300 metres wide and car free. It is a protected marine reserve, declared a Zone of Special Protection for Birds by the European Union, with varied marine wildlife. The tiny island has become a popular day-trip destination, with its quiet fishing village offering an old fort, numerous fresh seafood restaurants, a rocky beach with clear turquoise water, several coves and tidal pools ideal for bathing. There are many excursions to the island from Alicante, Santa Pola and Torrevieja.

Elche, also known as the ‘City of Palms’, is approximately 14km from El Pinet. Strolling through its narrow streets you will discover a wealth of culture, impressive ancient architecture and a fascinating historical centre. Such is the town’s historic significance, UNESCO inscribed the town as custodian of two World Heritage sites: ‘Misteri d’Elx’ - the annual mystery play of Elche; and ‘Palmeral d'Elx’ - a landscape of groves and date palms with elaborate irrigation systems dating from when the Muslim city of Elche was erected, towards the end of the tenth century AC.

"Could not have been better."

We had a wonderful stay here. The apartment was spacious and immaculately clean with everything we needed. Norman and Linda were very friendly and on hand if there was anything we needed. They offered information on things in the area and even escorted us to a local market to give us directions then provided us with an umbrella when the rain came on unexpectedly. We would definitely consider this as a first choice when visiting the area again.

"a quiet retreat."

The apartment was large, well set out and very clean with everything you need for a holiday, from lilos to internet. The setting is very quite being about 1 mile from the nearest shops and bars but the view and peaceful local more then offset this inconvenient. The view from the balcony looks out over the salt lakes towards Santa Pola, Alicante airport and mountains beyond. the pool is large and was never overly busy. There is a problem with the water supply but it only happened once (on returning all sandy from the beach), the beach was a 10 minute walk or 2 drive and very easy to park. The apartment manager was very helpful he even printed off a golf voucher we needed and meet us at the golf course with it, if planning any golf speak to him 1st. A car is a must, we would book here again.

"Nice apartment but we feel misled and badly let down about location"

Your review has been published by TripAdvisor and we write to say how disappointing we were with your comments and your remarks in general.
We always make every endeavour possible to ensure the satisfaction of all our Guests, so it is a source of great pleasure and satisfaction to us all, when we receive letters of appreciation from 99% of our Guests, which is quite dissimilar to the one which you were kind enough to write and your comments where it is relevant and accurate will be noted and acted on.

Having had your assurance that the property would be left clean and tidy, it was quite a shock to find the apartment in such a state. So I hope you and your family will understand as to how disappointed we were with the state in which the property was found after your departure and by your recent comments.

By your own admission the Apartment was clean and well presented. However the property was left in a most unsatisfactory condition. The following are a summary of the condition and otherwise:

• Balcony: The balustrade and plants were covered in sand and had to be washed with detergent to remove the sea sand from the paint work. A clothes horse was provided for this purpose! So there is no requirement for any towels etc. to be placed over the balustrade. . Plant pot with a Cactus was lying on the floor, there was an unemptied ash tray on the dining table, and the floor of the balcony was covered in sand. The BBQ was used but was not clean or emptied
• Lounge & Dining area: The air-conditioned system was left running at 16c from their departure in the early hours of the morning until our arrival at 14:30, which means unnecessary cost to the owners, there were a pile of rubber beach toys and a rubber dingy which were just left on the floor still covered in sand. The settee was also covered in sand needless to say the floor was not swept.
• Both bedrooms were left in a most untidy manner with no effort being afforded to leave the property in decent and acceptable state.
• Bathroom: Was the most disgusting of all the rooms, the shower tray had a layer of sand which was enough to cause a potential blockage, which had to be hovered up. The rest of the bathroom was similar to the other rooms. It is quite obvious that these people never intended to treat this property with any respect.
• The Kitchen & Utility Room: There were some dishes which were left in the draining board, otherwise the kitchen and utility rooms were both left in an untidy, dirty and unhygienic state. There was burnt residue of Pizza or bacon left in the baking tray, grill and in the oven, it took over two hours to clean the oven and the various utensils which were never properly washed. The fridge was dirty with bits of unused food and drinks left in both the fridge & freezer compartments.
• Other Damages & missing items: The large sun loungers was broken and will have to be replaced at a cost of €45.00. A glass canister from a set of three is also missing and will have to be replaced as a set at a cost of €15.00. The cost for the additional cleaning which was necessary amounts to an extra 4 hours of cleaning which will charged at €10 .00 per hour not to mention the unnecessary additional cost which we have to pay for the electricity to the owners because the air-conditioning was left on for several hours.

In conclusion we do accept that we were not ready to receive you on arrival due to a late departure and our commitment to providing an immaculate accommodation for all our Guests. For this we do state that we are flexible on both arrival on departure for both ourselves and for all our Guest, however we did provide a free unlimited Internet and Wifi access for 4 users as a goodwill gesture.

With regards to providing misleading information, based on our knowledge and what is written in our description, it is quite inconceivable that we would state that El Pinet is close to or next to La Marina Camping International. Although El Pinet is within walking distance of the surrounding key location we have also stated that in addition to the regular Public Bus Service, a car is essential if Guests wishing to travel further afield.

With this in mind: Would we recommend these Guests? The answer would be No! How would we rate them for cleanliness? The answer would be very poor! Because the property was left in a unsatisfactory, dirty and unhygienic state! How observant was the guest of the house rules? Our answer would be very poor, the house rules were ignored, in addition there were complaints from the neighbours regarding loud music and excessive noise! How clearly did the guest communicate their plans, questions, and concerns? Fair during our email exchanges but otherwise contradictory on arrival mainly by the male member of the party.

A very good trip has come to the end. From the day we email to the day we left Norman was helpful. nice apt. close to the beach on town. tips. diving in tabaco island, the markers in santa lola, the butcher in santa pola, eating on the beach in the night. An evening in ELX.

"Absolutely brilliant"

We were a group of university students who stayed in the area at the end of our final year.
The area around el pinet is beautiful and the beach is less than 5 minutes walk away. The food at the local restaurants was outstanding.

Most of all Norman was awesome, a really nice guy who made the trip special and even arranged for transport back to alicante airport at the end of our trip.
I would really recommend casa bellavista to anyone who is wanting a relaxing few days in the sun.

"A comfortable, economical & quiet apartment in a "natural" yet convenient location""

We know the area well and can recommend it if you love being close to the sea, appreciate nature walks , a pool to swim in and shops within walking distance. The apartment has all you need, it is clean, well equipped and located in a quiet and natural setting on the outskirts of La Marina, a little Spanish village. . A car is handy to have but not a "must have" and the personal service we received from the manager "Norman" was second to none. If you are looking for a relaxing, healthy break, then give El Pinet a try.
