This luxurious modern property is situated in the Urbanisation La Marina area, near Alicante. It is split into two private lodgings with separate entrances,sleeping 4 on the first floor and 2 on the ground floor. Both floors have their own beautiful lounges, kitchens and washrooms and are fully equipped. The property has an excellent position in a quiet residential area with little passing traffic and only a 10 minute walk to a good choice of bars and restaurants.
There are three bedrooms,(Lower level) has 1 x Kingsize, (Upper level) has 1 x Double and 1 x Twin/Double depending on your choice. The bedrooms are all fitted with ample storage space. The attractive lounges offer a very comfortable seating area to relax, both are fitted with leather suites. There is Satellite TV & DVD players fitted in both levels. A Playstation 2 with two game pads is available in the upper level with a small selection of games. There are adjacent dining areas, seating 4 on each floor. The fully fitted kitchens are very well equipped with usual white goods. A steam iron and ironing board are also available on each level. You will find a fitted water filter system in both kitchens, so bottled water is not required.
The upper bathroom has a bath/shower, vanity unit, bidet and matching storage cupbards. The lower level has a large fully tiled modern bathroom with a step in shower instead of a bath, vanity unit and storage.
There are fitted ceiling fans, with hot and cold air conditioning units that are fitted in the lounge and double bedroom (Upper level). The Lower level has a hot and cold air conditioning in the lounge. The windows and doors of both levels are also fitted with mosquito blinds. There are portable gas heaters supplied for use during the cooler months.
Steps lead up to the very spacious secluded roof-top solarium which provides an attractive al fresco dining area with a table and 4 chairs, and a sun-bathing area with 4 sun loungers. There is also a lovely gazebo, gas BBQ, and a shower to cool off. The lower level has a separate patio area with table, 4 chairs, and parasol to relax and enjoy with a nice glass of wine as the sun sets, or just chill with your morning coffee and newspaper or book.
The lovely secluded communal pool is situated approx 20 yards away, it has a lockable gate for guests and residents only. This property is the ideal Spanish retreat. In addition to our communal pool, there are also 2 public swimming pools on the urbanization which can be utilized for a small daily fee and the beach is only a 5 minute drive away where you can enjoy the sun, sea, sand and san miguel!!

Linen and towels are provided for our guests however please bring your own beach towels.

Conditions
Smokers are welcome, however, we request consideration be shown to the owner and other guests and ask that they strictly refrain from smoking in the property. They are free to smoke on the balcony, terrace or roof solarium where ashtrays and seating are provided.
A £100 per week non-refundable deposit must be paid on booking. Please make cheques payable to Mrs. P Walsh. The balance and an additional security payment of £200 cheque sterling will be paid 8 weeks prior to departure to cover possible breakages, key loss etc. (See booking form for full details). Late bookings should be accompanied by full payment plus the £200 security to the owners Mr & Mrs Walsh.
The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
There are good road links to the Benidorm and Denia area to the north and to the Mar Menor and Cartagena area of the south. Travel by car for 20 minutes inland and you could be in another world were the day to day life in some of the mountain villages has been left untouched by the advent of tourism. In fact much of the area between Alicante and Torrevieja has been left alone by the big tourist companies, and has been left in the main for either residential or holiday home development.
There is still an abundant supply of bars and restaurants to suit every taste and pocket, as well as supermarkets to supply all your needs for a stay here. There is an abundance of wildlife close at hand with the Salinas de Santa Pola having one of the largest flocks of flamingos in Spain and the famous El Hondo nature reserve close by.
With mountains inland and salt lakes to either side the area has its own microclimate with little rain. The World Health Organisation recognises it as the healthiest place to live in Europe.
The La Marina / La Marina Complex area
La Marina comprises of two separate areas with the village, or pueblo, around 600 metres from the sea and the urbanization where the majority of the newer properties are built about a mile inland. The village has retained its Spanish feel although with the new El Pinet development close to the beach a number of new bars and restaurants have opened with a more international flavour.
Having just one main road running through the village with numerous plazas and roads running off of it makes it easy to find your way around and everything that you need can be found here with the exception of a large supermarket, but there are five on the urbanisation and others in Guardamar the next town going towards Torrevieja. If you are not hiring a car, a bus service runs to Santa Pola and Alicante to the north and Guardamar, Torrevieja and as far as Cartagena in the south and stops along the main road through the village. During the summer months from the end of June until the first week in September there is also a bus service from the urbanisation down to the beach. There is also a local bus service to Orihuela, Elche and the local villages in the Vega Baja.
Down on the beach there is plenty of free parking just behind the dunes at La Marina beach and also at El Pinet. They are blue flag beaches and have all the amenities to hand along with a restaurant by each car park and a beach bar at the La Marina beach. Alternatively there is a restaurant just behind the La Marina beach called La Pinada that specialises in fish and grilled meats, but also serves snacks and drinks both inside and on its terrace.
The urbanisation starts about a mile back from the beach and is a large residential area. It has four commercial centres, that provide a range of bars and restaurants as well as five large supermarkets and a few smaller ones that cater for the UK and northern European needs. There are two swimming pools open to the public. The Hillside Pool/Bar & Snooker Hall located between Calle Bilbao and Calle Andalucia which is the smaller of the two and has sunbed hire and a snooker club adjoining it. The Hillside Pool/Bar also have regular entertainment in the evening, Thursday night Quiz, Friday & Saturday regular Live acts and every Sunday Karaoke with Tommy - A night to remember and highly recommended. The other is by the Satellite roundabout and is part of the La Marina sports complex which incorporates the bowling club. Admission is daily and includes sunbed hire for those of you without access to a private or communal pool, and if you are planning a lazy holiday you can buy a weekly ticket.
La Marina lies 18 kms south of Alicante Airport which takes approx. 20 mins by car and approx. 45 mins from Murcia Airport. La Marina’s beautiful blue flag beach is only 2.5 kms away from the urbanisation which is approx. 5 mins drive away. During the peak seasons, a bus service is available to and from the beach. A car is not essential, however it is recommended to explore the other attractive coastal areas. La Marina provides a variety of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops and banks etc. The local market is held twice a week on Thursday and Sunday where you can buy fresh local produce and lots more.
There are several golf courses within easy reach, the nearest being La Marquesa situated at Rojales which is only 15 mins drive away. Las Ramblas, Villa Martin, a championship course and Campomar are within a 30 min. drive. The lovely Spanish seaside resort of Guadamar is only 10 mins drive away. There are good links to Benidorm and the Terra-Mitica theme park near Benidorm is approx 60 mins drive away. The ‘Aqualandia’ water park, ‘Mundomar’ Sea World, Go-Karting and Horse-Riding are near by.

There are regular bus services that run throughout La Marina and the surrounding other towns and villages.
