About the home

Casa Lanson is a spacious villa located at La Marina, near Alicante, on the Costa Blanca. Casa Lanson comprises two double bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom), large lounge, dining room, comprehensive kitchen, bathroom, large porch area/breakfast room with double glazed arches, large roof solarium.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
- Both have double beds with ceiling fans and wardrobe.
- The lounge has a three and two seater settee, ceiling fan (remote controlled as is the light). Cable TV with all UK channels plus Sky channels. DVD and VHS recorder. (Take your own DVD’s). Air / Con now fitted.
- The Dining room has sideboard, round table and four chairs.
- The kitchen has electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, large larder fridge with freezer on top (very good frost free) electric kettle and juicer (great for local oranges), toaster, washing machine and a comprehensive range of usual kitchen accessories.
- Bathroom is well fitted out with vanity unit incorporating sink. Shower unit over bath (very good pressure and hot water) and a bidet.On suite has shower, toilet, vanity unit

Further details outdoors:
- The whole roof is a solarium with beach beds, table and chairs. There is also a shower on the roof for really hot weather.
- The porch area has been double glazed and makes a nice area for breakfast etc. A door leads out onto the front balcony.
- Only 20 yards up the hill is a good sized pool with grassed area and palm trees. This is entered with a key found in the villa. Please adhere to local rules such as Siesta (some people live there permanently and live like the Spanish).

For Laundry/cleaning a charge of 50 Euros is made, per rental.

There will be a charge of £ 20.00 per week in concept of utilities

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

For the younger generation there is an Aqua Park near Torrevieja (20 mins). A go-kart circuit only 4 mins away on the N332 towards Guardamar, a superb fun swimming pool complex in La Marina village called “Camping International”, this also has a tennis court at only 4.00 euros for an hour.

Terrimitica is the Spanish Disney World and is situated a short distance from Benidorm. I am informed that this is a good day out for young and not so young, and can be reached in only 45 mins. There is also a jet ski school in Guardamar (10 mins drive).

For the more serious adults there are numerous places of interest to visit with easy access from the villa. The town of Elche is renouned as the town of palms, this is only 18kms away as is Orihuela, a fascinating town whose old centre is typically Spanish, a visit here is a must.

Then there is Alicante, for the avid shopper it is essential, El Corte de Ingles has a very large store here. A stroll along the harbour is very pleasant. The Castle is worth a visit, the view is magnificent. Slightly further afield is Benidorm (only 45 mins) and a must is the best evening show in Europe at the Benidorm Palace, have a great night with dinner before the show.

Inland from Benidorm is the hillside town of Guadalest, again very old Spanish and here you can see how the Spanish lived, fought and died years ago, it would be a shame to miss it while in the area. A local market is held at La Marina on a Thursday and Sunday, also other areas during the week.

Any further help you need will be satisfied by a visit to the local tourist information office in Urb La Marina centre, they are very helpful.

The La Marina / La Marina Complex area

The urbanization of La Marina does have all the amenities required such as three Supermarkets, two large swimming /sports complexes, bowling green, restaurants, 24hr banking service and a bus service to local towns such as Guardamar. To enjoy the surrounding area and towns a car is essential.

There is a local bus service to various destinations leaving from Avenida de Londres. There are some fascinating places further inland which will suit some, and only 2 miles away there is La Marina Playa, a great sandy beach which stretches from Guardamar to Santa Pola (approx 12 miles). This is very safe for children and those that want to cool down. There are beach bars for snacks and drinks, ices etc.

There is a vast choice of things to do and see in the area plus plenty of nice Spanish restaurants to eat in or very good Chinese restaurants and very reasonable priced.

In addition to golf nearby there is also a bowling green within half a miles drive from the complex.

To make your stay more enjoyable a car is advisable, although our agent on site will arrange transport from the airport if required. Car hire at Alicante airport is quite cheap, but it pays to shop around, internet etc, but alternatively a car hire company in La Marina hire out from the airport. “Home from Home” On arrival we collected the key from Jeanette who lives across the road,the villa was spotless and very comfortable. The pool was just a short walk although we didn't use it. You definately need a car as it is a long walk to the shops (especially in August when it is really hot).Couldn't fault the villa at all everything was as expected.
