"Spacious villa in a quiet location with a big pool"
We travelled with a family of six.The villa was exactly as described, clean and well presented.Close to the beach and the local village La Marina was ideal for restaurants and bars, only a short five minute drive away. We would definitely rebook and go again.

"Luxurious Villa in walled private grounds"
The Villa was extremely well equipped and presented to a high standard throughout. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very well proportioned with plenty of storage space. There is a beautiful balcony / shaded sun terrace for eating and watching the sun go down and also beside the pool area, so great for a dip if you get too hot. We particularly liked the property because it was very private and not overlooked by neighbouring properties, also very safe for the children to do their own thing and not be constantly watched. Although the owners lock upstairs that never proved to be problematical as it was probably cooler downstairs anyway. There is plenty of secure driveway parking once you have come through the electric gate. The palm trees that surround the property are mature and break up the wonderful gardens nicely into different areas for sitting and reading a book or two. There are shops and restaurants nearby (small car journey) in Marina. We particularly liked the nearby beaches with their soft sand and pleasant swimming conditions, also nearby there are salt lakes with flamingoes so great for going to watch if you are a twitcher ! The nearest large town is Elche (ELX) which has the most spectacular firework display on 13th August that I have ever seen - Nit de l'Albà (Night of the Dawn) . It also has an orchard of over 200,000 palm trees that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. Up the coast is Valencia which if you have time is a must visit for a few days seeing the Olympic park areas and Oceanographic and old town (A mini Barcelona only more reasonable) We would definitely re visit as there was so much culture to take in and too many places to see in one trip.

"nice villa but you dont get what you expect"
we booked this villa for my wife and i our daughter, son in law and 2 young grandaughters aged 2yrs and 7ys. we were a couple of hours late due to getting lost but when we called warren from the management company, he met us at the villa and showed us around, he was in a bit of a rush as he was just going to work and because we were running late he had little time but had very kindly supplied us with bottled water, bread, milk, squash, and a few treats in the fridge ie cheese and ham and a very welcome bottle of wine. We were really disapointed because from the picture we had already voted to have the bedroom with the balcony but we soon discovered that it was locked and the 4 bedrooms were all on the ground floor. Warren said it was because it had a 8 man jacuzzi in and because the water was not on mains the owner didnt want to let it out because it would cost too much money for the water. Our bedrooms were nice enough ours had an en suite and there was two further double rooms and a twin room all standard but clean. It was very hot and i put on the air conditioning but after about two minutes it tripped the fuse. This happened a few times so we didnt bother too much about this at the time and cooled off in the pool, the water was low in the pool but warren assured us it would be filled up on the wednesday 5 days into our holiday we were a little disapointed again but accepted the fact, not wanting anything to spoil our time with the kids we didnt want to cause a fuss. That evening we settled the children and enjoyed a drink around the pool which had sun loungers and table and chairs. as the sun went down i went to put the pool lights on as warren had shown and found they didnt work. so we had to move to the porch area where there was light. That night it was unbearably hot and the children woke up several time bathed in sweat as did we. I called warren the next day to advise him about the air con and he to his credit came out to the villa. He said he would speak with the owner to arrange to get it fixed, the pool lights he also assured once getting the ok from the owner he would try to sort. We were out a lot in the day but i kept my mobile on just in case and had said to warren he could go into the villa at any time with maintance men if he needed to. On the third day we loaded the two cars we had hired due to the location of the villa, you need transport as nothing is within walking distance which we were happy with. We were off to the beach in la marina a small town about 5 minutes drive away. The gate which was operated by remote key fob didnt work and we had to call warren again as we coulnt get out of the villa. warren told me over the phone how to turn the gate to manual and assured he would get someone out. Maybe we were just happy to be away as a family but we laughed it off as one of those things. for the next few days we used the gate on manual. by the thursday nearly a week into our holiday and 4 nights of not much sleep due to the lack of air con i had gone to golf with my son in law when my wife called from the villa to say a man called allen had turned up to look at the pool lights, gate and air con but didnt know how to turn the gate onto auto from manual so i talked him through it over the phone. i arrived back at the villa and allen was still there he didnt know what was wrong with the pool lights or the air con but did say the owner didnt want to spend any money on maintance and he had advised him before that it was down to the runner on the bottom of the gate that caused it not to work. He also said that it was unacceptable that the air con didnt work and felt sorry for us in this heat so got onto warren and said he needed to get hold of some portable air con units. Warren turned up that day with one unit and left. problem was there was no hose from the back and the front blew out cold air but the back blew out hot air. By this time with the children and ourselves suffering at night with the heat and because the neighbours all had dogs if we did manage to sleep the dogs would wake you even with the windows closed. Anyway to cut a long story short a week into our 12 night stay the pool got filled, and by pure fluke my wife turned on the pool lights switch and the lights on the entrance by the electric gates came on so i tried the gate and that worked as well. After a few glasses of wine we had a good giggle but i was simmering inside as all these little things were building up. The next day after another sleepless night (dogs, lack of air con) i called warren to say this was now a joke and he really needed to do something. Another visitor this time a nice dutchman who again looked at the air con , pool lights, and the gate. He said the air con unit was upstairs in the locked bedroom and asked me to call warren who came out with the keys and they still couldn t fix it but said he would come out the next day with the part to replace. He advised warren to leave the door open upstairs as it was so hot and he confirmed that the freestanding air con unit was not to be used as no outlet pipe was attached. By this time we had lost all hope of having air con and everyone who came out had another story about the villa. Anyway warren called us on our last day to confirm the air con would be repaird on the fri (our day of departure) guess what no one had turned up to repair it on the given day. On arriving home i emailed the landlord explaining very nicely what had happened and got a email back saying he would look into it. 20 days later we still had not had our deposit back so emailed again and was told he had credited our deposit back and that he was satisfied that warren had done everything he could and because he had given us a slight discount off the price of the holiday that was all he would do. not even a sorry. This is our first experiance of hiring a villa it wont put us off i just hope the next villa has what it advertises and that the landlord is offering a service and generally wants you to have a good holiday not just interested in making money and not maintaning his villa.
