The Valenciana region

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

This area is known as the Market Garden of Europe and the gastronomic centre of Spain. In addition to its History and Culture, the Southern Costa's have the added benefit of being recommended by the World health Organization as one of the healthiest environment to live or visit in Europe, especially if you suffer from rheumatism, arthritis, asthma or heart related problems.

Places of great tourists interest:

The Isle of Tabarca: located off the coast of Santa Pola, was declared a Marine Reserve in 1986. Its transparent waters, seabed, and the abundant flora and fauna contributed to this. Currently, it is a major tourist destination in the summer, ideal for diving or just enjoy good food based on fish and rice, its tranquillity and friendliness of its people.

Santa Pola: [Alicante] bordering the Mediterranean coast, through various routes and observatories you can access the areas where some of the most interesting bird watching can be done, such as some of the most interesting and recreational types.(Flamingo's, Ducks, cerceta pardilla, tarros blancos), and many more. The extraction of salt is the main economic activity in the area and shapes the ecosystem.

Elche:

Is the third city of the Valencian Community, by population size and resources. A stroll through its streets will allow you to discover an interesting historical centre, with its 2 UNESCO World Heritages: Elche Mystery Play (Misteri d'Elx) Medieval Drama and the Elx Palm Grove (Palmeral d'Elx)

This fabulous area has safe white sandy beaches that seem to go on forever, most of them being awarded the 'Triple Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety. Bustling Spanish fishing villages, Haciendas numerous marinas, an excellent selection of championship Golf Courses and Bowling Green are all within a twenty minutes drive from your property.

The whole area is surrounded by mountains, orange and lemon groves, several salt lagoons, with two central salt lakes, one a nature reserve, full of migratory birds and flamingos and to the South the Mar Menor. This Region enjoys one of the best climates in Europe; protected by the mountains to the West and the warm winds across the Mediterranean from North Africa to the south East.

Mildest season is: November to February ; the spring and summer seasons are long, starting in March peaking in August-September and cooling down between October and November.

La Marina

Residencial El Pinet " Offers its Guests, quality beaches with fine golden sand, that offers clean, transparent and blue waters. The area is marked by natural landscapes as well as a paradise for birds, wildlife and beaches, which makes Residencial El Pinet a great place to live and where to experience new emotions.

A beautiful location, warm and happy, where you can enjoy the sun and the beach, spectacular scenery and varied range of cuisine, festivals,sports and culture.

During your stay you will enjoy a typical Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and quite hot Summers. El Pinet is situated just a ten minutes walk from the stunning sun-drenched Blue Flag beaches of El Pinet and La Marina. Close to the traditional Spanish town of La Marina with its wide selection of Bars, Shops, Restaurants, Pharmacy, News Agents, and Banks. The village also has a useful Tourist Information Office and Health Centrer, Post Room, Internet Cafe and Travel Agents where daily sight seeing trips can be booked.

El Pinet and La Marina are considered to be two of the most tranquil, peaceful and attractive areas to spend your holiday on Spain's Southern Costa's. The 14KMS of white sandy beaches are superb, cleaned daily; patrolled by life guards in the summer, with a beach bar, restaurants,and plenty of activities for the children.

El Pinet is a location with magnificent sea views, quite peaceful but sufficiently close to all amenities that are within walking distance.

Places of great tourists interest: If a more suburban environment is wanted for night life or you wish to take in some of the local culture or restaurants; Then, La Marina Urbanization is just a 10 minutes drive away, has markets on Sundays and Thursdays. [NB: there is a market somewhere every day.]

The Santa Pola market is recommended for buying quality leather shoes at a fraction of the sterling price. The Isle of Tabarca, located off the coast of Santa Pola, formerly used as the Berber pirates operations. In 1986 the Tabarca was declared a Marine Reserve and has become a major Tourist Destination.

The larger towns of; Alicante to the North, Elche to the West, Guardamar and Torreveija to the South has trinket markets every evening in the summer. During your stay you can enjoy a range of activities such as horse riding, golf, bowls, fishing, scuba diving or shopping in any of many colourful markets. Visits to the the water park, nature reserves, the near by Rio Safari Park or the beautiful town of Elche known as the City of Palms.

Overall the area offers convenience, a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city, stunning views and the and the Mediterranean Sea at your leisure.

Alicante:

Alicante, City of Lights and Capital of the province is a beautiful elegant city with a modern harbour development of sophisticated restaurants and bars built around the marina.

Elche:

Rojales:

Is a traditional farming village on the Segura River. In order to optimise agricultural production it concentrates on the growing of citrus fruits which accounts for 70% of the cultivated land. The town has a multi-sports hall and Municipal Theatre, the Barrio de las Cuevas has now become a centre for the arts and crafts.

Guardamar de Segura:

Guardamar is situated between Santa Pola to the North and Torrevieja to the South. and the three towns are connected by a magnificent beach and sand dunes that stretch for over 30 km.

Part of this area has been declared "Parque Natural" (conservation Area) part of which has been into a beautiful park with picnic facilities and walk through the pines to the beach.

"Ideal apartment with everything necessary for an enjoyable holiday"

We stayed 10 days in Casa Airon, a top floor well maintained apartment (well done Norman) with a pleasant balcony and sunny upper solarium complete with bbq, loungers, table and chairs etc. Grandchildren enjoyed the swimming pool (popular with various nationalities) which had plenty of welcome shade during afternoons. We wanted to be a short distance to enable visits to see their Spanish Great Grandmother who lives in nearby Santa Pola so for our needs it was absolutely ideal.
Being on the top floor certainly gained great views but it did mean climbing lots of stairs so not ideal for the less able or with heavy suitcases. Had a problem with cockroaches initially, probably as a result of many of the surrounding apartments being unoccupied at the time but once we 'plugged' the overflow holes, all was OK. We had to feed the electric meter with a few euros to ensure sufficient supply but otherwise not a problem.
Water is not on mains supply which could cause portable delivered water shortages during busy times. Since none of the buildings on this whole estate have been given official habitation certificates, there is no mains street lighting - only spotlights run from black feed wiring - a common problem where developers have gone 'bust' or the buildings erected without consent.
El Pinet beach and surrounding pinewoods together with the popular beach restaurant are a bonus - we have been visiting for the last 30 years.
We would definitely recommend and return to this apartment. However, we would prefer to book and pay direct next time rather than via PayPal as they do not give the option to have your refundable deposit returned to your credit/debit card which we would have preferred.

"La Marina - A hidden little gem."

The apartment is the perfect distance from the airport and is very convenient if you hire a car as there is so much to discover in the nearby area.
If you don't hire a car there is a local village that has lots to offer, including traditional tapas and the most amazing ice cream parlor!!!!
The apartment has great views of the sea, which we enjoyed from the balcony. The beach is a short walk away. The beach is a must see, it is amazing with lovely little bars and restaurants to enjoy.
The apartment provides equipment for beach and picnic facilities which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The apartment was lovely and clean and provided everything we needed for our stay.
Norman was very welcoming and helpful during our stay, we are definitely coming back!

"Lovely Apartment"

Lovely apartment, well equipped had everything we needed Norman and Lynn were lovely met us at the apartment (late flight too) and showed us everything we needed to know.

"The best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in; managing agent extremely helpful"

A well equipped, well maintained apartment. The two balconies enabled us to enjoy breakfast downstairs and our fresh fish barbeque on the roof top. The apartment is close to a very long beach with warm sea water. There are three restaurants on the beach, with the middle one providing great food at good prices.

As there are no local shops a car is essential to get to nearby supermarkets.

The city of Elche, with its world heritage protected palm tree plantation, is well worth a visit.

Alicante airport is only a 20 minute drive away so getting to the apartment is quick and easy

"El Pinet apartment"

Great location and a fantastic apartment with everything you could ever wish for in your own home. The managers are friendly and helpful.
We had fantastic views which I hope dont change with increased future buildings. The location is perfect if you like a quiet beach holiday. Only a short walk away from a Bird Sanctuary and perfect quiet beaches. My teenage Son and I loved it, it was a real 'Chill' holiday, we hope to return.
