This beautiful holiday apartment is modern and comfortable, with 2 bedrooms which will comfortably sleep a family of 4 or two couples. It sports an open-plan design encompassing the kitchen, dining area and lounge. There is a fantastic open air solarium with shower upstairs; a great place to go to cool off in the hot summer months or sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the mountains.
This accommodation really does have everything you need for a wonderful holiday in La Union, with a shared swimming pool and an area for children, your holiday can be as peaceful and relaxed or as lively as you wish it to be.
Situated within a predominately Spanish town, you can experience the Spanish culture and if you are lucky, one of the many spectacular festivals that are held throughout the year. It is a highly recommended location for touring holidays, beach holidays or golfing breaks, you will be situated only 10 minutes drive from the beach and within the vicinity of no less than 28 Golf Courses.
The naval town of Cartegena is less than 15 minutes drive away, experience the fusion of old and new, with cobbled streets, delightful architecture and shops to die for. Explore the many beaches of the Mar Menor, surf in the Med, enjoy beautiful fish restaurants in the tiny fishing village of Cabo De Palos, catch a boat across the Mar Menor to Sardine Island, explore Sierra Espuna National Park. In fact there is so much to do in the Murcia region you will need weeks if not months to cram it all in.
This apartment really does make a wonderful base to let you enjoy a low cost holiday without the hassles of being tied to mealtimes and tourist outings.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
Welcome to Murcia - rugged mountains, rolling green field,s golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Murcia enjoys a year-round average temperature of 20 degrees Celcius and is blessed with nearly 3000 hours of sunshine annually. The region is lapped by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor, a great saltwater lagoon with salt marshes, ecosystems, islands and unique flora and fauna.
The Mar Menor is Europe's largest lagoon and is easy to explore, with several villages and towns dotted around its coast. This inland sea is contained by a narrow strip of land (known as "La Manga") which separates it from the Mediterranean Sea. the lagoon is open to the Mediterranean at its tip, but due to it being only 7m deep at its deepest point, it is much warmer than the Mediterranean. In summer, a dip in the Mar Menor can be as warm as a warm bath! The lagoon is ideal for all kinds of water sports and its warm, shallow water makes it an ideal place for all the family.
The Mar Menor is surrounded by the resort villages and towns of Lo Pagan and Santiago de la Ribera. These two towns have beautiful beaches and there is a 4km promenade linking the two resorts. Next is Los Alcazares, the largest of the resort towns (and the closest to La Torre) with extensive beaches of over 4km, again backed by a beautiful flat promenade. The smaller villages of Los Urrutias, Los Nietos, Mar de Cristal and Playa Honda are summertime resorts, all with good beaches and a small marina at each village. To the south of the Mar Menor, meanwhile, is the world-famous La Manga Club, a renowned sports centre with three championship golf courses situated within a world-class tourist complex, with a host of recreational activities.
The Costa Calida (Spanish for "warm coast") is the name given to the 155 miles of coastline in the Murcia region, which stretches from the natural salt lagoon of the Mar Menor in the east to the fishing town of Aguilas in the west. The two seas offer sparkling clear waters, luxuriously long and sandy beaches, and enchanting little bays. With a variety of blue-flag beaches to choose from on the Costa Calida, just minutes away from the apartment, there's no option but to relax and enjoy!

Murcia, the capital of the region, is rich in culture and Spanish history. There is a superb cathedral and a several museums including the Archaeological Museum, Fine Arts Museum or the Salzillo Museum. There are also high street shops, department stores and near the cathedral, small lanes with little shops and boutiques.
Murcia also has the Neuva Condiminium Shopping Centre – an indoor shopping mall with Spanish and UK high street brands. The Thader Shopping Centre – is a more Mediterranean style shopping centre offering a huge Eroski Supermarket, a cinema, a bowling alley and a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Opposite is an Ikea Superstore.

La Manga Del Mar Menor / La Union area
La Union is situated in the region of Murcia. Its history is dominated by the lead, silver, zinc and iron ore mines. Typically spanish, La Union is located ideally for exploring the surrounding area. Shop until you drop at Cartagena's largest retail shopping park, travel down to Puerto de Mazzaron and explore the fabulous beaches and coves. Spend the day on La Manga where you have a choice of either bathing in the Mar Menor or swimming in the Med.
Return at the end of the day and experience the Spanish restaurants and bars that populate the town. On Tuesday visit the local La Union market. Who could resist buying fresh Spanish produce, straight out of the local fields. From Experience, market produce is THE best in terms of quality and taste that you can experience.
