About the home

On the 7th floor of a 10 floor apartment with residents pool. Situated in the village of Playa Honda on the edge of the Mar Menor within walking distant of beach and bars. 5 minutes by bus or car from the bustle of La Manga Strip.or 5mins from the lovely fishing village of Cablo de Palos, with its wonderful seafood restaurants, and rocky coves.

The apartment is equipped with both air conditioning and heating. There is one double bedroom and one twin bedded room, both with fitted wardrobes; A double sofa bed in the lounge will sleep two extra. Lounge/Diner with lovely views an outside balcony with table and chairs sun umbrella. There are lifts to all floors. NO smoking no pets Children welcome. Linen provided.

Playa Honda has a small supermarket, and a few Bars restaurants and cafes.within a 10min stroll from the apartment. Playa Honda beach and the inland sea makes this an ideal place for children. The area is renowned for its water sports, the sea can reach temperatures of 30 C in the height of summer.

The village has a tennis and crazy golf court, which are free to play.

The Costa Calida region

"La Manga, a paradise between two seas"

Situated in the province of Murcia, Costa Calida is a coastal area which boasts one of the most moderate climates in Spain, with more days of sunshine than other mainland areas and water temperatures higher than average. The result is the Costa Calida (“warm coast” in Spanish) La Manga strip is 22kms long and separates the Mar Menor, a lagoon, from the Mediterranean.

Playa Honda is situated on the edge of the Mar Menor. The shallow waters and absence of tides makes the Mar Menor an ideal place for all types of water sports. Its perimeter extends to some 73 kms. The lagoon is a magnificent natural swimming pool with temperatures maintained by the sun that shines for an average of 320 days per year! Water temperatures in the winter months are 11C that can rise in the summer to30C!

Calblanque National Park.

Mar de Cristal turn off MU312 and take service road. Information centre, walking trails and unspoilt sandy beaches.

The historic town of Cartagena with its old port, Roman amphitheatre, boat trips and other attractions, is a 20-minute car ride away.

It is an area which offers many alternative type of holidays: beach, watersports, cycling and the bustle and night life on the strip, or the quieter areas like Palo de Cabos, a fishing village only a 5-minute car ride away.

The La Manga Del Mar Menor / Playa Honda area

Some places to visit in the La Manga area include: Cabo de Palos (a nearby fishing village, port and diving centre with many restaurants); Cartagena (an historic Roman town), the bustling provincial capital of Murcia, or Playa Honda for watersports (including windsurfing and jetskiing in season). Keen golfers will also be kept occupied, with many golf courses with half an hour of the property.

Ryanair, jet2.com, monarch all fly to Murcia. Budget airlines do inclusive car deals. The property is only 30 minutes by car from the airport, and transfers can be arranged.

Car not essential but advisable if you want to visit the nearby national park and explore the surrounding areas and enjoy the golf.

“We really enjoyed the apartment and the stay in Playa Honda.” We really enjoyed the apartment and the stay in Playa Honda. The apartment has a lovely view from its balcony of the surrounding area and has everything you need for a good self-catering stay. The La Manga area nearby which Playa Honda is situated is lovely and we found it ideal as we like walking and you can get to quite a lot of interesting places either by foot, bike or bus – Cartegana is also within easy reach by bus, and is really worth a visit.

“fantastice” The apartment is like home from home, everything you need is there. The Bus service is excellent. The beach is ideal for familys. There are 2 English and a Spanish pub, also a good supermarket . The meat and deli department are great. My friend and I call it our chill out holiday, and it really is so relaxing. We been back 3yrs and hope to be back next year.
