About the home

OUR HOUSE is a sunny 3 bed/2 bath house with a large amount of outdoor living area. Situated on a small urbanisation, the house and area are both ideal for families with children of any age, the elderly/infirm, or for friends sharing. It is great area for the winter sunshine too.
The large front patio, with patio furniture, leads through the front door to a bright, through living/dining room with sofabed, air-con and English TV. There is a well equipped kitchen.
A small hall takes you to one double bedroom and one twin room, both with large wardrobes, drawers and ceiling fans. A bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, washbasin and toilet is also on this floor.
A large, secluded back patio is accessed via the kitchen, with patio furniture, barbeque and a large bin full of beach toys. There is an outside shower here – a huge asset on those very hot days!!
Wide stairs lead up to the solarium (for the serious sun worshippers) with views of the salt flats nature reserve and the Mar Menor. From here there is a separate entrance to the third bedroom. This is a large twin bedded room with en-suite shower room and air-con, large wardrobe and dressing table.
Behind our row of houses is the gated community pool for the use by Manzana 7 (our block) residents only. This is a lovely pool, which is well looked after.
We have 2 old bikes (1 large, 1 medium) available for your use.

Just 5 minutes walk away, is the more established community of Playa Honda, where there is a general store (which stocks many English products – their steak is fabulous!), bars and restaurants.
There are several children’s play areas, free tennis courts,crazy golf and a fotball pitch in the vicinity and now the new sports centre is open.

The ground floor of the house (2 bedrooms; 1 bath) could be rented separately, sleeping 2 - 4 persons - this closes off the en suite twin room upstairs - See 4 person tariff prices (not high season)

The living room has English TV, DVD and Video plus a library of films for you to watch. Upstairs there is a DVD player.
This is a no smoking property.

Further details outdoors:
The large front patio/terrace is great for eating outside with patio table and chairs, or just for lying and catching the suns rays. There is an ouside tap - great for washing those sandy feet on return from the beach.
The secluded back patio/terrace can be used for dining or sunbathing. There is an outside shower to cool you down when the sun gets too much, plenty of patio furniture and a barbecue. If you need to wash your clothes there is a wahing machine, sink and line.
We have 2 old bikes available for your use - please be aware they are old and will not take a lot of hard cycling.
We also have a bin full of Lilos, bats, balls, buckets and spades etc. for you to use at the beach.
The upstairs solarium/terrace (for the serious sun-worshippers) has views of the sea and the salt lakes. You may be able to see the pink flamingoes feeding from the waters or flying overhead.

The downstairs of the house is suitable for disabled - one low step up into main living area - wheelchair maybe a bit tight into bathroom.
Bath towels are provided but please bring own beach towels.
Pets are welcome. Please mention when you request a booking.

The Costa Calida region

This region of Spain is situated on the South East coast.
The property is in a stunning location close to2 seas with an exceptional climate (average of 320 days of sunshine each year) encouraging top sports people from all over the world. A breathtaking 'get away from it all' location Playa Paraiso is a paradise for golfing, swimming and all water sports on the beautiful calm waters of the Mar Menor. Within 5/10 mins drive are the unspoilt Mediterranean beaches, the Calblanque National Park (a protected nature reserve) and the world famous La Manga golf, tennis and football complex. The historic cities of Cartegena and Murcia and the picturesque fishing port of Cabo de Palos, with its excellent fish restaurants overlooking the harbour are all within driving distance. Just 5 mins drive (15 mins beach walk) to the bottom of the very long 'La Manga strip' with all its shops bars and restaurants.

Tennis courts, Mini Golf and children's play area within 2 mins walk from house. Hopefully by the summer of 2010 we should have a new sports area opposite us with more Tennis and padel Tennis courts and a football pitch, jacuzzi etc.
There are several sailing and scuba diving schools in the nearby village of Cabo de Palos. There are also daily markets in the surrounding villages which sell a vast selection of clothes, shoes, fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, household goods and much more.
Over 2 weekends in either July or August a Spanish Fiesta takes place in Playa Paraiso, Fun, music and entertainment for all the family until the early hours. (The exact venue and dates are variable each year).
Playa Paraiso/Playa Honda has a selection of shops and restaurants just a short stroll along the beach offering all types of cuisine. A short car ride away opens up the choice of national and international cuisine at very reasonable prices.
There are several beach bar/refreshment areas along the Playa Paraiso/Honda beaches (June - Sept). Our new promenade (currently being built) should hopefully be open for summer of 2010.
The Calblanque National Park - the hills of which can be seen from our house - is just five minutes drive away. With its natural beauty, excellent soft sandy beaches with gently rolling Mediterranean waves this area is a must to visit.
Closeby is La Manga Club, which is open all the year round. Famous for its golf, but also offering a good selection of shops, restaurants, evening entertainment, casino,outdoor activities and spa facilities.
You can also find tennis courts, roller skating and a Go-kart track which are all a short car ride away.

“lovely sunny week in a stunning location” Our holiday time was amazing, all of us - we, our girls and parents - enjoyed it thoroughly. The weather was great, no sign of any clouds, beautiful sun, lovely beaches around - nearest just 5 minutes walk! (although we especially liked puerto de mazarron), we drove around every day visiting nearby places for sightseeing and walks - la manga, cartagena, cabo de palos, local harbors. We loved staying at your villa - everything we needed was there, including all kitchen utensils and bbq; cupboard full of games and books, and also english tv available - all those were ideal for siesta time when it was too hot to walk aroung or sit in the sun! The swimming pool was brilliant - especially for late afternoons and our girls really enjoyed it. We have visited few local restaurants - there is a brilliant chinese place opposite Mercadona market, clearly our favourite! We also enjoyed fish restaurant in mazarron harbor as well. We were stunned when we found out how cheap spanish wine is! unbelievable! Both information folders - in English! - prepared by house owner (one full of info about the region and the other one with booklets and leaflets of all possible local places, starting with restarants, through water parks, golf course, etc) were such a great help and full of useful information, details and maps - considering we dont speak spanish even more helpful :) thanks for that. We have had amazing time and we'd love to go back soon! xxx

“Would be happy to stay here again.” Had a great two weeks in Sue's house, clean, comfortable and well equiped, even had plenty of beach gear. Playa Paraiso and surrounding area is clean and felt safe. The Mar was fun - warm and shallow [thigh deep] the first 30 meters or so in - so great for children. Limited number of shops and bar/restaurants but we found every thing we needed. The restaurant at the other end of the Prom [La Manga campsite] provided decent evening meals with the menu of the day priced at E10.50 pp for a three course with a bottle of wine for two thrown in. We loved the near by national park which has several idillic beaches, beach fishing/ snorkeling and walks. We prefer an easy going holiday and found everything we needed within a five mile radius. A car is useful but most places, including the National park beaches can be reached by bus [bus stop not far from house] and a nearby town has a train station to La Union and Carthagena.

'A very high standard of accommodation in a nice quiet area (visited March time). The villa is clean, tidy, well equipped, spacious and offers the benefits of a separate upstairs room for added privacy. The location
provides an excellent base with the Mar Menor at the end of the street, the beautiful La Manga beaches a 3 minute drive away and the entrance to the national park 5 minutes away. The villa provides a lovely terrace for relaxing on. This was a safe accommodation for our 2 year old son. A lovely holiday was had by all. Great value for money and an easy drive from Murcia airport'. (Written by our very first visitor - March 2006)

The house was just what we wanted, well equiped. Weather good and all we needed for a holiday within
a few miles. We love the Cablanque national park and beaches, just what we want for a nice day out with with a picnic. So thanks for making it all so easy for us.(April 2011)

Clean and spacious. My parents appreciated the upstairs bedroom. And we all enjoyed the board games and DVDs provided. We enjoyed the National Park and the warm shallow sea.

We had a fantastic holiday, your property is in a lovely location and the facilities are great. The kids loved the pool and the DVDs so as long as they were happy then we were happy.

Well kept villa, everything at hand. Area quiet but lots of eating nearby. Great weather, Mar Menor beaches great - sea very shallow and warm great for kids. Very relaxing holiday.

We had a fabulous time in Playa Paraiso. The house was great and so well equipped. We used your bikes and buckets and spades too. Managed to visit lots of lovely places and even tested the mud!
All in all it was a great break.

A sofa-bed is used for the 7th and 8th persons.

For 2 - 4 persons it is possible to close of the twin en suite room upstairs - leaving the 2 bedrooms and bathroom downstairs at the rental rates above for upto 4 persons (not high season)

A deposit of £50 per week is required to secure the booking for your preferred dates. Full payment is due 8 weeks before the holiday start date. The deposit will then be held as a security deposit against damage/breakages or loss of keys. This will be refunded, following inspection, after your stay. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before the start date, the total is required plus £50 per week security bond.

Cancellation before full payment period incurs loss of deposit. Cancellation within the 8 week period are at the risk of losing the full payment.

We can accept payments by cheque or bank transfer in GBP or by international bank transfer or paypal in Euros. Payment by paypal/credit card can be arranged - there is a small 3% charge for this.

Please ask about discount for bookings of 4 or more weeks and long winter lets.

An end of stay clean is included in the price however if extra linen or extra cleaning is required this cost will be passed on.

Baby Equipment - cot, highchair, push chair etc available from our keyholders at a small charge.

Transfer from Murcia airport available at €35 per car each way
