La Casa (house)

Home description

La Casa is a spacious 2 bedroom duplex house completed to a very high standard in 2003, it is situated just a 2 minute stroll from the long sandy beach of Los Nietos on the Mar Menor. The Mar Menor has warm shallow water which is excellent for families.

It has a large living room with 2 large sofas which both convert into full size double beds with single pullout beds stored underneath. An entertainment unit houses a large satellite TV, DVD/video player, books & games. Adaptors are also provided for use with electrical items.

The large fully tiled kitchen is well equipped with oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, iron & ironing board, toaster, kettle, corkscrew, scissors, and various kitchen utensils. Shower room with toilet & basin. Outside at the rear of the house is a fully tiled patio with washing machine.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms each containing twin single beds, large fitted wardrobes, bedside cabinets & lamps. The front bedroom has patio doors leading to a balcony with lovely views of the mountains. The bathroom has a full sized bath, shower, toilet, sink & bidet.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region

The Coast Calida (Warm Coast) lives up to its name with a wonderful climate most of the year round. The waters of the Mar Menor are well known for their healing properties, and are especially suitable for easing aches & pains. The house is situated in an ideal location for exploring this wonderful coastline. There is something for everyone from spectacular beaches, great shopping and places to eat, as well as an abundance of sporting activities in the area, such as golf, tennis, watersports etc. The world famous La Manga Golf Club is only a short drive from the house. You may even catch a glimpse of the England football team who train here from time to time.

La Manga Del Mar Menor / Los Nietos area

Los Nietos is a typical Spanish village with a relaxed friendly atmosphere. A market is held in the village every Sunday throughout the Summer and the bustling Tuesday market of La Union is only a short train ride away.

The stunning view from the lighthouse at Cabo de Palos is a short 10 minute drive.

Excellent base for exploring the beautiful coastline of the Mar Menor. Beautiful beaches can be found atlong this stretch of coastline at Mar de Cristal, where BBC1 programme "Superstars" is filmed, Calblanque and La Cala.

A local train (F.E.V.E.) runs from Los Nietos to the historic port of Cartagena, where a tourist boat takes you on a trip around the harbour every half hour for approx 5 euros. There is also a tourist bus which takes you on a trip around the city. Tickets are valid for 24 hours and you can hop off and on as you please. A good way to see all the attractions on offer. Cartagena also has some fabulous shops, including the department store El Corte Ingles. A new commercial centre "Parque Mediterrano" opened in 2007 with plenty of shops and restaurants.

For total relaxation and a bit of luxurious pampering a visit to The Spa at La Manga Club is a must!

All tastes are catered for in the surrounding areas with Italian, Chinese, Spanish and speciality fish restaurants.

Golf, Tennis, Watersports, Cycling and much more are all available close by.

How to get there

La Casa is easily reached from both Alicante and Murcia airports by motorway. The nearest airport is San Javier, Murcia - which is only 20 mins drive away.

A second set of stairs leads to a large private rooftop solarium which has stunning views of the Mar Menor and La Manga strip to the rear, and the mountains to the front. This is a great place to watch spectacular sunsets.

The large communal swimming pool is open from 9.00 a.m. until 9.00 p.m. from beginning of April to end of October.

A deposit of 100 (pounds) is payable at time of booking and the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure, or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks. La Casa is available after 3.00 p.m. on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.30 a.m. on day of departure. We will try to be flexible with these times as much as possible if this will not cause inconvenience to other guests.

"La Casa - fantastic house, very luxurious with every mod con any family will need for a good self catering holiday. Relaxing on the solarium was a luxury we all enjoyed - sun during the day and the lovely cool air at night. The neighbours were all so friendly too. We absolutely loved Mar de Cristal and the fact we could always park the car near the beach without the fear of getting a ticket! The kids loved the pool and a night time walk along the promenade of Los Nietos. All in all we had a really good time at Los Nietos and La Casa was the topping on the cake!"

We had a terrific time at La Casa and all four of us want to return. La Casa is much more spacious than we thought and everything was just perfect - lovely restaurants in Los Belones and of course the beaches in La Manga - just fabulous - I think a car is a must to get to those beaches and for Los Belones - we also drove to San Pedro for the market and to Cartagena where we took the boat trip.

Wish we were still there!
We just wanted a relaxing week on the beach and pool and that’s what we had. We had a lovely holiday at La Casa and next time we want to stay longer if you'll let us. We loved where La Casa was situated in a very typical Spanish village just what we wanted. We liked the whole area and surrounding villages.
Mar de Cristal beach was a favourite of the kids as they like snorkeling in shallow waters, and the sea was so warm. Thank you for everything, you, La Casa, Christine, were brilliant in making our holiday easy and stress free. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Congratulations on owning such a lovely place in the sun!
We had a fabulous holiday and we were extremely well looked after by Clive and Christine. Your house was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and very spacious. We particularly enjoyed the sun terrace with its views of the sea and mountains. We used the pool a couple of times and mostly we had this completely to ourselves. We hired a car so were able to travel around and really enjoyed ourselves.

immaculate and catered for our every need! The view from the top of your house is amazing. My daughter and I enjoyed watching the sun set from the roof terrace and we all loved going to the pool no less than every day! The weather was fabulous. Your collection of books and dvds went down a treat - books for me by the pool and dvds for the kids mid-afternoon. We will definitely be booking another stay with you!
