Home description

Luxurious 2 Bedroom apartment with fantastic views from the 3 balconies . The views include Thomas Maestre Marina which holds hundreds of luxury yachts and boats, see if you can spot the rich and famous! Views also include the Mar Menor (little sea) sunsets and the Mediterranean Sea. Also WIFI INTERNET ACCESS.

Outside the apartment there is a large well maintained communal swimming pool with sun bathing area, palm trees and a smaller children's pool, a shower, terraces and tennis courts.

Our apartment includes 2 bedrooms - Both with a double size bed and 1 with en suite bathroom, private balcony from master bedroom giving sea view with table and chairs. there is 2nd bathroom very close to bedroom 2 which has a small balcony again with good views. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, bedside cabinets and independent air-conditioning units.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region

Should you wish to discover more of the history of the region, there is a tourist office at the beginning of the strip near Cabo de Palos. There are many museums within a short drive away.

The city of Cartagena with its old Roman port and castle is steeped in history. As is Murcia which is a little further to drive.

It is not necessary to hire a car, we could arrange a pick up at the airport should you prefer at an extra cost. The nearest airport is San Javier which is 40 minutes away from the apartment alternatively, you can use Alicante which is 1hr and 40 mins.

We have been visiting La Manga for 7 years and never get tired of the peace and tranquillity. Many of our friends go every year with their children as they feel the area and waters are safe and perfect for their holidays. Maybe you should experience this unique place too...........................!

La Manga Del Mar Menor / Los Miradores del Puerto area

The Mar Menor is ideal for the sporting activist - the breezes are perfect for kites, kite surfing, wind surfing (or you may prefer to catch the rays with a soft breeze and martini!)

La Manga del Mar Menor is probably the best place in the world for the practice of nautical sports. Pedalos, jet skis are for hire on some of the beaches. With the two distinct seas and soft breezes, sunny days make La Manga a sailors paradise; various sport ports, such as the Puerto Tomas Maestre or the Port of Cabo de Palos, numerous sailing schools, and diving clubs for those who prefer underwater activities.

A few other activities you can find at La Manga include, horse riding, 9 hole pitch and put, for the professional there is always La Manga Golf Club with its championsship courses and a casino.

Boat trips from Thomas Maestre on a daily basis offer a variety of trips, including a daily service to Santiago de La Riberia for around 4.5 euros per person where there is a weekly market on Wednesdays. The boats and private yachts can be seen from our roof garden and balconies, gently sailing by! binoculars are recommended, see if you can spot the rich and famous!

How to get there

Easyjet, Bmi Baby, Ryanair& Monarch do cheap flights to Murcia (MJV). From there it is a 25-30 minute drive or why not start your holiday by getting the ferry at Santiago De La Ribera, 5 minutes from the airport, across The Mar Menor (takes about 35 mins.) which runs every 2 hours in the summer & takes you straight to Tomas Maestre Port in La Manga, only another 5 mins. from the apartment & all for 4 euros per person!

Car hire can be booked through carjet . We help with airport transfer from MJV if required.

Local taxis are available from the airport for around 50 euros. The above airlines also fly into Alicante which is approx 1 hour 30 mins drive to the apartment.

The apartment is fully furnished to a high standard and inludes all home comforts. Large comfortable lounge with dining area, TV, music centre, under floor heating (for the winter) also with air-conditioning. Patio doors lead to a large balcony with superb views of Thomas Maestre Marina and the Mar Menor - there is a table and 4 chairs either for enjoying the yachts that pass by regularly or sunning yourself, enjoying your meals outside. You can see the view from the balcony in one of our photographs.

The kitchen and utility area includes oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, iron etc. Granite worktops and a free standing food preparation area.

Access to the apartment from the ground floor is by a lift to the front door. The area is flat and suitable for families or the less mobile.

From the entrance to the apartment you have the benefit of a supermarket 200 yards away, which includes a fresh fish and meat counter, a bakery and everything you would need for your holiday including a good selection of local wines etc all at very good prices. This is open every day except Sunday.

La Manga Del Mar Menor is a strip of land 21 km long with a numerous choice of white sandy beaches. The strip separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor which is a lagoon that has maximum depth of 8m, and is considered to be the worlds largest swimming pool, due to its calm and warm waters, which are rich in salts. This provides water temperatures in the winter months of 11C, which rises to 30C at the height of the summer. The waters and black mud are scientifically recognised as being therapeutic for ailments such as rheumatism and arthritis. You can spot the area where the mud is most plentiful by the bathers walking around waiting for the mud to dry! The nearest beach to apply this is El Estacion around 500 yards away. The beaches have a gentle slope and ideal for all the family, crystal clear waters allows you to see the small fish and occasional sea horse.

The road which runs through La Manga also offers the cyclist the safety of a cycle-lane, cycling by the waters edge and beach is truly wonderful at any time of the year. The strip is also a paradise for those who like to stroll by the waters edge and maybe call in at the the 2 nearby beach bars and restaurants El Estacion and Playa Chica, both within a short walk away.

At the very end of the Strip - is a nature reserve where flamingos can be seen in the winter which is quite spectacular

There is a lift into the apartment & ramps up to it providing wheelchair access.

Cleaning at end of stay included in rental.

Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
