The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The La Manga seaside resort area, part of the Murcia region, is one of the nicest climate areas of Spain. The number of sunshine hours is particularly high, therefore the temperature of the sea is also very pleasant. This part of the coast was actually named after these special qualities Costa Cálida that is Warm Coast. La Manga is an approximately 22km long foreshore, which separates Mar Menor (Little Sea) from Mar Mayor (Large Sea, that is the Mediterranean sea) forming the wo seas. The narrowest part of the panhandle is only 100 m, while the widest part of it 1.5 km.
There is sunshine in the region over 320 days a year , and if you do happen to get some rain while visiting, it rarely lasts more than a couple hours.La Manga is situated approximately 80 miles south of Alicante on the Costa Calida and is famous for the La Manga Strip. This unique strip divides the Mediterranean Sea from the natural Lagoon know as The Mar Menor. The Mar Menor is the largest natural salt water lagoon in Europe and is well known for its shallow warm waters. Due to this the sea is calmer and stays at an average temperature of 18c throughout the year. The climate is very good all year round and is frequently around 90c during the summer months. The Strip consists of numerous Hotels, Bars, Cafes, Restaurants with beaches on both coastlines. There are two harbours including the very Cosmopolitan Marina to which there are numerous sailing club and ferries operating to such places as Santiago de Ribera with its weekly street Markets.
Inland from the strip within a short drive away is the World Famous La Manga Golf Complex which is home to a 5 star Hotel, Casino, Bars and Restaurants alongside 3 championship golf courses. It also boasts a top Football Coaching Academy and is also used for training purposes by many of the worlds best Football Clubs, including the England squad.
The beautiful historic City of Cartagena is also only a short drive away with its fabulous shopping and the most beautiful Port and historic Buildings. The port has an interesting boat trip that gives you an insight of the history and local culture.
Nearby Cabo De Palos with its 19th century lighthouse is well worth a visit, the Paseo De La Barra, its neatly kept seafront promenade and picturesque fishing port and marina are inviting to the curious stroller.
La Manga Del Mar Menor / La Manga Strip area
The apartment is an ideal place to enjoy your holiday at the long sandy beaches in front of it, it is a great base for trips around the area and there are also many sports facilities for playing golf, going diving, tennis, fishing, quad biking and all manner of watersports including jet-skiing, surfing, kite surfing.
And there is a great number of Bars and Restaurants lined up all the way on La Manga Strip. One of the best is just across the screet.
You can rent a car, there are many great places to visit, like Cartagena , Murcia the capital, and Caravacca de la Cruz, which is one of the 5 Holy Cities of the world. There are a lot of Fiestas in the area in spring and in the summer, and all the visitors are welcome there.

Budget airlines Ryanair, Easyjet, Monarch, Bmi baby, Jet2 and Flybe from many provincial airports into Murcia / San Javier (preferable) or Alicante.

Welcome pack provided on arrival. All guests will be met upon arrival to the apartment and house rules explained. Contact details for any issues will be given and local maps and information will be left in a visitors pack. This service is included in the price of the clean/laundry/meet and greet. Price includes linen and towels, please bring beach and pool towels.
Conditions
Bookings can be made from any day of the week. Refundable breakages deposit of £250 required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). Credit card is preferred for this purpose or Cash. Clean/laundry/meet and greet one time fee is due the last day during your stay for only £50. 25% of rental fee is required to secure your booking. Six weeks before your stay a full payment is required prior to arrival. You will be met by our Property Managers and they will be on hand during your stay should you require any assistance.

This is a new apartment and is available from October 2008. As we have not had anyone staying hear, I can not put a comment. But there are many recommendations from other apartments in the same block and hopefully you will be the first to add comments in the never been used luxury apartment. Enjoy your stay.
