Home description
Relax in the sunshine by the pool ... enjoy the local bars and restaurants in the evening.
Modern ground floor apartment in a low rise block of 3 floors. Front terrace with patio furniture and 4 steps up to the apartment. Large, spacious and airy lounge diner with kitchen at the far end. The fully fitted kitchen has washing machine, fridge freezer, oven hob and microwave. There is a rear door from the kitchen straight into the communal gardens and swimming pools. Air conditioning unit in the lounge. Two bedrooms with fitted wardrobes set up as a double and twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath.
The apartment is modern and well fitted and presented. It has the benefit of TV, DVD and Sky Satellite service. The pool is lovely, large and clean. The gardens are very pretty and have space to sit out in both sun and shade to enjoy a good book. The patio to the front is private and solely for your own use.
Los Nietos is a popular holiday destination as it offers the best of both worlds. The village is still traditional and spanish and the fishing boats come in every morning. Yet there are modern houses and apartments. The village has a centre with a couple of small shops in the square, centred around the beach and the promenade. The apartment is only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
Nestling at the bottom of the Costa Blanca, the Costa Calida is one of the least known and most unspoilt regions of Spain, guaranteed to give you a taste of "real Spain".
With over 315 days of sunshine every year it is little wonder that the Costa Calida means "warm coast" and the unspoilt inland waters of the Mar Menor, the largest natural lagoon in Europe, offer safe and warm water bathing all year round.
The area is best know for the La Manga Club resort, renowned for its three championship golf courses, LTA Tennis Centre Training Ground and being the training ground of visiting football teams from Spain, the UK and the whole of Europe. There are over 22 tennis courts with the option of booking tennis coaching on an hourly or weekly basis. Short tennis, squash courts, bowling green and pitch and putt to name but a few of the sporting attractions. The Hyatt hotel is a fabulous 5 Star hotel and more, with poll bar and now the newly opened Spa. Spoil yourself with a treatment from a manicure to the full 90 minute signature Lavender Massage with facial. For the evening there are over 30 restaurants and bars to dine in and to relax and enjoy yourself. These range in style and price from the Amapola Restaurant at the Hyatt which is superb but a little expensive to Si bar for inexpensive dining with family entertainment.
The area has so much more to offer than just La Manga Club. There are 6 further golf courses of an excellent standard, and a further 12 under development.
La Manga Strip ... the "sleeve" of land that runs from Cabo de Palos in the south to San Pedro in the north is 18km long and encloses the warm tranquil waters of the Mar Menor to the west and has the livelier colder Mediterranean to the east. The Strip is up to 1km wide in parts and in others is is merely 100m allowing only for the road to run through with a beach on either side. La Manga Strip is a town in its own right, albeit an long thin one! There are shopping centres, restaurants and bars set in plazas or squares. The marina at the Puerto Tomas Maestre is beautiful and houses some stunning boats and yachts that most of us can only dream of, but the restaurants are great and the atmosphere is wonderful.
Water sports ... well there could not be a better or safer place to learn to sail, jet ski or kite board. The area has a number of sailing schools with a wide range of boats and dinghies on which to learn to sail or to brush up your sailing skills. Diving is a popular sport and there are a number of different diving schools offering anything from the beginners course to night dives for the more expereinced diver. The dive around Isla Grosa, for example, takes around 1 hour and takes your through the magnificent quartz caves.
La Manga Del Mar Menor / Los Nietos area
Los Nietos is a traditional Spanish village on the Mar Menor, approx 2 km from Los Belones and the famous La Manga Golf resort. The village has bars, restaurants and a beautiful marina and five minutes drive away is Mar de Cristal where there is a really nice beach, with 3 beach bars (Pepe´s is the best). For watersports visit La Manga strip where there are 12 sailing schools, kite surfing and water parks.
Los Nietos has its own market on a Sunday morning, ideal for buying your weeks worth of fruit and veg ... limited selection of clothes and some nice leather goods. The market is held next to the middle train station. Los Nietos has 3 train stations, amazing for a village so small, there are two trains an hour leaving for Cartagena which travel through the mining villages and along the mediterranean coastline. It is really worth a trip on the train, it takes about 25mins to get to Cartagena and costs under 2 Euros for a return ticket.
Cartagena is a lovely city, steeped in history dating back to pre Roman times. There are numerous tourist attractions which are really fun to do, I would recommend the open top bus ride and the trip around the harbour on the catamaran. If you do not want to have a history or culture lesson then the shops are fantastic, and it is a great place to buy clothes and especially shoes and handbags. Then take a long and lovely lunch over looking the harbour in one of the many cafes and restaurants on the front. The town itself is friendly and safe. If you want some serious shopping visit El Corte Inglis, one of the newest and now flag ship stores in Spain.

Next to the tennis court is the football pitch, but this is gravel so not for the faint hearted! The pool is just lovely ... see the photos. We had a great holiday. Lovely accommodation. Well looked after by staff. Welcome goodies were appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you. Vicky & Trevor S June 2005 What a lovely flat, we will definitely be back again next year. The kids found plenty to do and made some new friends so it was great to get them off our hands.
