Veneciola is at the end of the magnificent La Manga Strip it is referred to as the 'gardens area' peaceful yet within easy reach of the busier parts of the strip. Both the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean are on the apartment's doorstep the Mar Menor is like a huge swimming pool great for kids, watersports or just soaking up the sun. Also we are lucky to have the therapeutic mud right here - smother it on let it dry and wash off in the Mar Menor. Your skin will feel gorgeous and it's free!
Go to one of the lovely restaurants/bars all close by or sit on the spacious balcony and relax. There is plenty to see and do go and explore the markets, marina, shopping or chill out in a fully equipped and comfortable apartment with gardens and pool.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
Murcia is situated south of Alicante which is approx. 1 1/2 hours drive away. The region boasts more than 320 days of sunshine per annum, an average winter temperature of 17 degrees and in summer 26 degrees. Lovers of art and history would enjoy a visit to Cartagena which is about an hour away and this is also a shopper's paradise.
La Manga Del Mar Menor / Veneciola area
La Manga translated from Spanish means 'the sleeve' and is a strip of land between two seas, one being the Mediterranean and the other being a large inland salt lake called the Mar Menor. The Mar Menor is said to contain minerals which have healing qualities for skin ailments and rheumatism and you often see people treating themselves with the mud along the beach.
Therefore, La Manga has miles of beautiful beaches. The strip is approx. 17 km long and it is worth travelling up and down the strip to discover its many attractions. A regular bus service runs the whole length of the strip giving easy access to all areas. It's worth mentioning Plaza Bohemia which is crammed with restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. Visit the Peke Park Playground with its own bar restaurant where you are able to drink whilst the children are playing and get gifts and hairbraiding etc.
A ferry service operates from the Tomos Maestre marina to Santiago de la Ribiera a town across the Mar Menor on the mainland. The marina is a lovely place to enjoy a drink or meal while watching the private yachts and boats. The Mar Menor is also home to many watersports e.g sailing, kite surfing and jet skiing. The Sunday Market is at the Cabo de Palos area and a bus will take you right outside - starts early.
La Manga has a unique and natural enviroment which attracts a wealth of wildlife and you can observe flamingoes and other migratory birds in the Las Salinas Nature Park and the Calblanque Nature Reserve.
How to get there
Cheap flights are available with bmibaby and easyjet to murcia or alicante. I can arrange airport transfers for you from either of these airports, murcia is the closest about 30mins from the apartment.

We can arrange airport transfers from Murcia airport and this costs 45 Euros each way it is much cheaper than Taxi's and is a personal door to door service.
Our driver can also be available for excursions to various places of interest. We provide an information pack with further details.
We arrange for the apartment to be cleaned and fresh linen and towels provided for a cost of 60 Euros per stay (not per person) but this is optional.
If you prefer to hire a car from the airport, we can give you the details of a car hire firm based at Murcia Airport.

We enjoyed this break so much it was lovely to see the children have so much fun and it felt so safe, love the Mar Menor. we have been here 3 times and are back again this year. Mr & Mrs Taylor 2009.
