The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The La Manga Strip is 22Km of land which juts out from the Costa Calida coast and creates the South west surround of the Mar Menor (Little Sea). With in the province of Murcia, it boasts 322 days of sunshine a year, and therefore one of the mildest climates of Spain. This has resulted in the name Coast Calida - "The Warm Coast"
The strip at its narrowest point is 100 metres wide and at its widest is 1.5km, with 44km of beaches, the protected bays and coves are on he Mar Menor side with the water boasting tempretures of approximately +4 degrees higher than its counter part, The Mediterranean.
Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Caravaca dela Cruz present most of the history in the region, with Murcia being the home to the 600 year old Santa Maria Cathedral - the highest in Spain.
Cartagena is an expectionally beautiful city with Roman and Byzantine battlements visible to the public and walking tours can be arranged if requested.
Caravaca de la Cruz is one of the five "holy cities"in the world and houses the Vera Cruz cross.
La Manga Del Mar Menor / Tomas Maestre Marina area
As previously stated the Tomas Maestro Marina can be a hive of activity, with it cosmopolitain choice of restaurants & bars to enjoy, coupled with an array of various sized vessels from all over the globe.
Take a ferry trip across the Mar Menor to Santiago de la Riberia, especially on a Wednesday when the local market is in full swing.
Visit Cabo de Palos with its famous fresh fish restaurants and its small quayside cafes, it too boasts a very large open air market on a Sunday morning through to approximately 1.00pm.
Canoe to the north side of the Mar Menor to view the huge flocks of flamingo or visit the saltflats at San Pedro del Pinatar to bath in the mineral rich mud - however you can enjoy the theroputic mud of the Mar Menor just ten minutes from the apartment - just watch the locals collect it from the shallow waters and rub it all over themselves when sunbathing - great fun!!!
How to get there
An excellent choice of Low Cost Flights from the majority of UK Airports to the Two key Airports servicing the area. Murcia (San Javier) Airport is only 40 Kms from Marinesco II via two excellent free flowing dual carriageways or Alicante Airport which again is pratically a straight run approximately, 75 Kms. Plans are also well underway via new road networks to make ready for the construction of a new International Airport, which is to be situated slighlty inland to San Javier at Corvera and is positioned between the two existing airports some 60 Kms from the apartment.

For Car Hire - the majority of the Low Cost carriers have a link from their web site directly to car hire all at a reasonable rate - example would be Europacar rental of standard size car for 1 week: Low season x £80 and High season x £140. Some will charge additional for petrol in advance & additional insurance for window and tyre cover - the majority are fair operators and the cars well maintained (Handy Tip at Murcia Airport - One of the party wait for the luggage to come of the arrival belt - whilst the other goes for the car, that way you will have very few delays in getting your holiday off to a flying start - and don't forget.... remember your Driving Licence).
Should you not wish to hire a car - it would be a pleasure to arrange for you to be meet at either airport, Murcia or Alicante and driven directly to the apartment. A return booking can also be organised at the time of making your final arrangements once your holiday has been booked. Murcia to Miradores del Puerto - 50 euro. A two way journey to apartment and back to Murcia Airport - 100 euro. Alicante to Miradores del Puerto - 110 euro A two way journey, apartment and back to Alicante Airport - 220 euro.

Further details indoors: The apartment was completed only four years ago and retains a fresh modern look and appeal to all. All rooms have sunny South facing views looking directly over the well maintained private, apartment pools and landscaped gardens .The two Bedrooms & Lounge have full length sliding glass "french doors" opening directly onto the large sun terrace and if the sun gets too much there is a retracktable blind which creates shade for the lounge. Each bedroom has fully fitted wardrobes with drawers within the wardrobes plus additional bedside cabinets, large mirrors and the main bedroom has full en suite facilities. and the comfort of Air Conditioning.
Further details outdoors: A Sun Terrace runs the full length of the apartment and is child friendly - The external furniture consists of large table for 6, Sun Chairs, Sun Loungers, Beach Umbrella & Cool Bag. Some of this furniture will be stored, securly, in the apartment's private garage.
All against the backdrop of Tomas Maestro Marina with boats and yachts of all shapes & sizes either entering the marina and into the Mar Menor or leaving on their journey into the Mediterranean.
Directly facing the apartment there are two large landscasped communal pools for residents, plus a chlid friendly pool sitting within a well cared landscaped garden, another suntrap coupled with a tennis court for the more energetic.
There is also a new superb supermarket and shopping facility, catering for everyones needs including fresh fish, fresh veg & fruit and meats counter, coupled with a coffee shop selling homedade pastries, bread & fancies, just two minutes from the apartement. Within the same length of time & distance there is an array of restaurants, bars, and several leisure clothing shops, surrounding the marina, with a wonderful promonade walk along the Mar Menor to other restaurant/bar facilities plus beach, as well as the yatch club and inlet to the Mediterranean on the other side.
The Beaches are literally five minutes away and scattered all along the 22km stretch of the "La Manga Strip", with the Mediterranean on one side and the Mar Menor (The Little Sea) on the other. The shallow waters of the Mar Menor and the absence of tides make this the ideal place for a large variety of water sports and bathing. Add this to the waters of the Mar Menor being recognised as some of the most therapeutic in Europe, coupled with the sun shining on average 322 days per year - it is the perfect choice for sun, sea & rest.
Along the 22km strip there are pockets of of Shopping centres, restaurants, bars and plus the activities within the picturesque Tomas Maestro Marina acting as your backdrop to the apartment.

Should the booking date fall within the 6 week of departure - full payment must be made at the time of confirmation that the dates are available. Linen, Hand Towels & Bath Towels are included for the two bedrooms up to four persons, however should linen be required for the sofa-bed an additional £25 will be charged for this service. The rental rates are for the property only and do not include transport to and from airports, how ever should you wish for transport to be arranged for your safe journey one way or return, this can be done so at the time of final confirmation, and prices are indicated near the start of the apartment text.
A "Welcome Pack" consisting of: Bread, Butter, Jam, Tea, Coffee, Fresh Milk, Bottled Water, 6 cans of Lager and Orange Juice, is avaulable and should you wish to book this will only cost a further £15. Should you like to add a little luxury to the pack for an additional £10 included will be: 6 eggs, Cheese Slices, Tomatoes and a Bottle of Red Wine or Cava.
