On one side of the apartment is the marina and the Mar Menor (small sea), on the other side less than 5 minutes walk, is the Mediterranean and 14 km. of beaches.
The apartment is in an ideal situation for restaurants, supermarket & water sports, but not too near the noisier ‘nightlife’ & main shops lower down the strip – just a tourist bus ride away.
There is a balcony off every room (apart from bathrooms) with spectacular views over the Tomas Maestre Marina & the shared pool which has a separate small pool for children, alongside a short tennis court.

La Manga has a lot to offer all ages, it is a strip of land jutting out into the sea, 23 kms. long with Europe’s largest salt water lake – The Mar Menor on one side with it’s warm shallow waters & the long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean on the other. The width of the strip is about 300 metres (on average).
It is an ideal place for all water sports, golf, cycling, sightseeing, restaurants, bars, shops, go-karting, night life.
You name it, La Manga has got it.

There is a lift into the apartment & ramps up to it providing wheelchair access.

Refundable damages/breakages deposit of £150 required on final payment, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection & return of keys).

The Costa Calida region


Sometimes regarded as part of the Costa Blanca, the Costa Calida ("Warm Coast") refers to the seaboard of the Murcia region and includes a few small resorts E and W of the historic city of Cartagena. This region is located between the provinces of Valencia and Andalucia and the coast is a remote, thinly populated area where the mountains reach right down to the sea. The Mar Menor, a vast saltwater lagoon almost cut off from the sea, dominates the area. The narrow spit of land separating the lagoon from the Mediterranean is known as La Manga ("The Sleeve") and is the main tourist area of the region. The airport is at San Javier, 20 mls N of Cartagena.
The La Manga Del Mar Menor / Los Miradores del Puerto area
The area of La Manga is full of natural beauty. It has a large selection of bars, shops, bakery & restaurants for all tastes.
Alicante & St. Javier (Murcia) airports are not far away & are both serviced by low cost airlines operating out of Stansted, East Midlands, Gatwick, Birmingham, Newcastle, Luton, Liverpool, Manchester & Southampton.
The world famous La Manga Club is nearby, home of three 18 hole championship golf courses & also is host to many England football club training camps.
La Manga del Mar Menor
There is no centre as such but different areas at intervals along the strip where you will find shops, bars and restaurants to suit your taste.
The area is very Spanish and is not your typical British package deal holiday resort. The locals are very friendly and whilst many do speak English, a phrase book is sometimes useful.

Easyjet & Monarch do cheap flights to Murcia (MJV). From there it is a 25-30 minute drive or why not start your holiday by getting the ferry at Santiago De La Ribera, 5 minutes from the airport, across tThe Mar Menor (takes about 40 mins.) which runs every 2 hours in the summer & takes you straight to Tomas Maestre Port in La Manga, only another 5 mins. from the apartment & all for 4 euros per person!
Car hire can be booked through easyjet or at the airport. We help with airport transfer from MJV if required.
Local taxis are available from the airport for around 50 euros.

Great apartment with lovely views and fantastic pool, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, well stocked kitchen/utility room with cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, washing machine etc. Lovely lounge area with two balconies, close to beaches for both the Mar Manor and Med (approx 3-4 minutes walk). Very clean facilities, supermarket just a couple of hundred yards away, quite quiet area with no noisy/rowdy pubs - just 2 or 3 restaurants/bars close by. Negatives - about 30 minutes walk to the harbour and the majority of bars/restaurants - quite a long way to walk in the heat! Unfortunately there were millions (literally) of jelly fish in the Mar Manor (beaches are netted but some little ones still get through to the beach) - didn't cause a major problem though because we just went to the Med side of La Manga instead! |
