A brand new bright and roomy apartment in the Ribera Beach complex of Mar de Cristal, a relaxed and friendly spanish village, in and up and coming area of spain. The apartment is only a short drive from some of the local attractions, such as La Manga Golf Club, Cartagena and Murcia. There is a communal pool, and lift access to all floors.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region

This region of Spain known as Costa Calida, is on the South East coast. The nearest sea is the Mar Menor which is a large salt water lagoon. It has no tides and is perfect for families and ideal for all water sports. The La Manga strip, a 15 mile peninsula separates the Mar Menor sea from the Mediterranean.

The Mar Menor enjoys average temperatures of 30c during summer and 16c in the winter months. It is one of the driest regions of Spain, enjoying on average 320 sunshine filled days/year.

La Manga Del Mar Menor / Mar De Cristal area

The village of Mar de Cristal is right on the Mar Menor, with the apartment being only a 5 minute walk away. There are a selection of bars, shops and restaurants within the village.

The nearby villages of Los Belones and Cabo de Palos offer a wider selection of entertainment, with bustling markets and lively nightlife.

The Calblanque national park, a nature reserve, consisting of secluded beach, and rocky bays is a perfect retreat for nature lovers, and is just behind the residential area of Mar de Cristal.

Larger towns such as Murica and Cartagena are within easy reach, with a good selection of hypermarkets, department stores and many historial buildings and museums to visit.

There are plenty of activities to try out locally, with 10 water sports teaching centres along the length of La Manga, from canoeing to water skiing, tennis, horse riding, go karting, cycling, hill walking and mountain biking. Alternatively the nearby La Manga Club, offers excellent sporting facilities as well as shops, bars, casinos and of course three championship golf courses.

There are other golf courses at Campoamor, Villamartin, La Finca, Los Rambles, Altorreal, and La Marquesa to name a few all within a 30 min drive. Approximate costs of golf, La Manga club (3 courses) 86 euros, with private golf lessons from PGA teaching professionals, and 5 day golf clinics also available, Campoamor – 42 euros, Las Ramblas – 45 euros, Villamartin – 60 euros, La Marquesa – 57 euros. How to get there

Fly to Murcia Airport (San Javier), approximately a 25 minute drive from the apartment. With many of the low cost airlines, i.e. RyanAir and Easyjet, flying daily from most UK airports.
Car hire is recommended, which can be booked prior to arrival, one company to recommend is Auriga rent a car, www.aurigar.com. Collection to/from the airport can be arranged costing between 24 and 30 euros each way depending on month of travel. Alternatively there are plenty of local taxis to hire.
