The Costa Calida region
Costa Calida is also known as the 'Warm Coast' stretches approximately 250km of the Mediterranean coastline, benefiting from a hot Mediterranean climate, with high average temperatures and low rainfall.
Costa Calida has something to satisfy all holidaymakers from ancient towns and cities, fine sandy beaches, a great climate with around 315 days of sunshine every year and some fantastic sport facilities, including water sports and golf.
The La Manga Del Mar Menor / Las Gondolas area
The Mar Menor is the largest of it's kind in Europe stretching across 170km2. The Mar Menor is separated from the rest of the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of land known as La Manga. La Manga is one of the known sport resorts along the coastline of Spain and is 22km long and in some places no more than 100 metres wide.
The waters of Mar Menor are approximately 5 degrees warmer than the surrounding Mediterranean Sea, making the beaches in the Mar Manor very popular with holidaymakers.
Lo Pagan, located on the Mar Menor, is famous for its healing mud baths where people travel from all over the world to experience the beneficial effects. This is a protected area and free for everyone to use and enjoy.
Coastal towns such as Cartagena and Mazarron, have a rich long history where many Roman remains and fantastic Roman theatre are accessible for guests to enjoy.
For thise guests who want a lively nightlife, the resort of Mazarron has the best nightlife in the area with many bars and discos. However as with many towns in this region there is plenty to see such as the ruins of the Velez Castle.
