The Costa Calida region


If you're thinking of a Spanish holiday on the Costa Calida, or inland in Murcia, you'll be in a prime position to enjoy everything that life in Spain has to offer. Costa Calida, otherwise known as the "Warm Coast" extends along 250 kilometres of Spanish coastline. Until fairly recently it was relatively undiscovered – mainly due to its geography, sheltered as it is by impressive mountain ranges, and a more authentically Spanish way of life, are starting to look to the beautiful coastline of Murcia´s region. This is an excellent time to consider a villa or apartment here.
There is a lot more to Murcia / Costa Calida Region than La Manga – though if golf, tennis, watersports and rubbing shoulders with sports stars and celebrities is your thing, La Manga resort is the place to be. There is 250km of coastline – much of it unspoilt and undiscovered, with some truly gorgeous beaches. There is a great diversity of landscape in Murcia – from the coast and the Mar Menor, to breathtaking mountainous areas, to the wide arid plains where many spaghetti Westerns were filmed (the sets were left behind and there are three ‘Wild West’ theme parks to visit). There are beautiful National Parks in this region too, one of which – the Sierra de Espuna National Park – is only 40 minutes’ drive from Murcia Town, and is an unspoilt, mountainous pine forest and haven for wildlife.
Only a short distance inland from the obvious attractions of the coast there are some stunning places to be found – with lots of sleepy rural villages waiting to be discovered. One of the loveliest places in Murcia is the Ricote Valley. This was the last stronghold of the Moors in Spain and has a lush and beautiful landscape running alongside the River Segura.
The La Manga Del Mar Menor / La Union area
La Union's mining history has been a deciding factor in shaping and forming the landscape on this short stretch of the coast. The range in colours of the various minerals give the area an exotic beauty which the visitor can appreciate on the journey towards the coast.
The coast of Cartagena is completed with La Manga, a wide section of land surrounded by two seas, with long fine sandy beaches and equipped with all the tourist infrastructures you could need for an excellent holiday.
To the east of Cartagena, there are different landscapes which include the Regional Park of Calblanque, a privileged area of the coast of Murcia. It has a wealth of species of fauna and flora, with geographical formations as varied as coves, large beaches, fossil dunes, salt flats and mountain slopes, with various routes for visiting the park. Further on are the protected coves of Cala Flores and Cala Reona, near to Cabo de Palos.
This area, which also includes the surroundings of Islas Hormigas and Isla Grosa, is especially interesting for divers due to the fauna and flora that live on the rocky sea bottom. In the Mar Menor area, Playa Honda, Mar de Cristal and Islas Menores are villages of summer and seafaring tradition and are popular with the faithful tourist who returns year after year in search of its peaceful environment. This also happens in Los Nietos, a small fishing village which fills to the brim in summer. Further to the north, in Los Urrutias, is the Regatta Club of the Mar Menor. In the village of Los Belones, very near to La Manga, there is an important Golf complex with 54 holes; it also has tennis courts, areas for learning to play golf and a gymnasium. A complete sports offer in beautiful natural surroundings. There are also two horse riding centres in the same area for those who prefer a relaxing trek on horseback.
La Unión is not only famous for it´s mining background , but is host to some of the most spectacular festivals in the region, the music & Flamenco festival encourages visitors for many parts of Europe and beyond, if music is your passion then this is definitely one not to miss.
The city of Cartagena a 15 minute drive welcomes visitors from far and wide to the Festival of the Romans & Cartagenians with re-enactments of famous battles to free Cartagena from the grip of the Roman Empire.

Initial Booking
1. A 25% deposit must be paid within 7 days of making the booking.
2. The balance must be paid no later than 6 weeks prior to your arrival together with €200 refundable security deposit.
(Where late bookings are made the total payment must be paid at the time of booking if less than 6 weeks remain before your date of arrival)

Security deposit
The refundable Security deposit of €200 must be paid prior to your being provided with the keys to the property. This deposit will be refunded after your departure when the property has been inspected. Should any damage or breakages occur your deposit will be refunded after any expenses have been met and you will be provided with receipts for any expenditure. You will not be given access to the property until this deposit has been paid so please be sure to make the necessary arrangements in advance of your arrival.
