About the home
La Manga Club is an all year round, established holiday resort set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It usually attracts families in high season and golfers/tennis players throughout the rest of the year. Our apartment is situated in one of the pretty villages called Bellaluz which is popular with young families due to the closeness of shops and restaurants. We are on the 2nd floor (also the top floor) with an excellent sized lounge at the front of the property. There are wide patio doors leading onto the balcony offering panoramic views across the gardens and Lion Mountain in the distance. The rear balcony has plenty of space for tables/chairs and sun loungers and is ideal for the winter sun. This overlooks the Plaza with its shops and restaurants. It is fully air-conditioned and has recently been re-painted, all the bedrooms are good sized with wardrobes and cupboard space. Can sleep a 7th person in the hallway on a hired z-bed. Wi-fi vouchers free at the pool or purchase a drink in the Plaza and voucher given. Blackberry internet in the apartment - Movistar LMC_BZ_2 or hotspot pool.
There is nearby parking for the car and the resort is very secure and safe. The swimming pool is olympic sized with a children's pool too, there is a play area & food is served all day at the bar. It is only a 3 minute walk from the flat. The private beach La Cala, can be reached either by car or the bus which only operates in high season. The La Manga Club hotel has a piano bar & entertainment. The Dharma Lounge and Spikes Bar also have live entertainment.

Large loft style lounge leading onto dining balcony with views across to Lion Mountain. Seats 6 comfortably with 2 settees and 2 individual chairs, coffee tables and a sideboard with c.d. player & I.Pod docker. Flat screen wall mounted sky t.v. There are games, books and local activitiy brochures. Children's pool inflatables kept in hall cuboard. The dining area is open plan with the kitchen and seats 8 comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped with a door leading out onto the rear balcony with its patio furniture. The master bedroom also has a patio door overlooking the rear balcony with an en suite shower room & loo. In all the bedrooms there are plenty of cuboard space and windows with shutters for extra security. All is fully air-conditioned. We can fit a 7th person in the hall way of the flat next to a small balcony with the hiring of a z-bed for £30 for the week. Air-con included in the summer and heating provided in the winter months. Wi-fi can be obtained from the rear balcony - we are hoping to have full Wi-fi soon.

Outside the building are gardens, plenty of nearby parking, shops and restaurants, swimming area, you can walk to the tennis courts and pitch & putt and there is walking in the surrounding hills.
As a resident you are allowed 50% off the golf and discounts on all the other facilities on offer.

There is a taxi service from the resort which is the same price as local firms for those not wishing to hire a car to and from the airport.

If you drive from Alicante airport, there is a toll charge for a small section of the AP7 motorway so keep change on you. Its approx. 2 euros in the winter and upto 4 euros each end in the summer months.
Conditions
We normally ask for a 20% deposit and the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. We send out a map giving directions from the airport and also one of the resort. These include full details of key collection and our on site management company. If you arrive out of office hours the key & swim card will be in a locked box on the wall.

La Manga has a micro-climate, giving it 325 days of sun each year. It has been known to be warm enough to sit on the beach in January.
La Manga strip is a strip of land nearby which has many shops, hotels and good beaches.
There is a Sunday market and many good fish restaurants at Cabo de Palos, 10 mins drive away.
Cartagena 15 mins drive, with excellent out of town shopping mall called Parque Mediterranea, continue on MU312 until you near the town. There is a new marina in Cartagena and roman amphi theatre.
Murcia City is 40 minute drive and well worth going to see beautiful baroque style streets with churches and the 1400 year old Cathedral. (Closes at 1pm)
The La Manga Club / Bellaluz area
La Manga Club has 28 tennis courts and is home to the Lawn Tennis Association winter base, 3 Championship Golf Courses, 9 Hole Pitch & Putt, crazy golf, children's holiday clubs for tennis, dancing, football and golf . Plenty of different types of restaurants and cafes/bars, banks and shops, plus a supermarket. Use of the large swimming pool at the tennis area and our own. Live bands at Spikes Bar, next to Mulligans Pub and a Piano Bar at the hotel and the West Course @ La Princessa. Bike hire, watersports, diving school, pony riding and Spa/gym.
La Cala is the private beach with a restaurant open in the summer. Mar Cristal is 5 mins away with watersports and safe beach for young families, sea temperatures remain warm in the Mar Menor.
Los Belones is the nearest village with plenty of good restaurants and cafe's.
Torreviecha has a water park.
Easter festivals in Cartagena and Murcia are fantastic

Murcia (San Javier) is the nearest airport just 25 minutes easy motorway to the Club.
Alicante airport is a 1 hour 10 min drive from the Club, but it is straightforward with motorway all the way.
BMI baby, Easyjet, Ryanair, B.A., Flybe, all fly from major airlines, but not all go to Murcia airport during the winter months.

1) 16th July 2010 - Great layout and location, everything we were looking for.
2) 14th August 2010 - Apartment proved a real winner with the family. We had plenty of space & loved looking down from the balcony. Dominic was close by if required and we would very much like to stay again in the future.
3) 21st August 2010 - We had a lovely time and loved your apartment, it worked really well for us. Hoping to rent again next year.
4) 2nd Oct 2010 - Had a fabulous time in your lovely apartment. We hope to go back again for a couple of long weekends next year and would love to have the opportunity to stay again.
